Question question for Daredevil viewers - spoiler alert!

couldn't figure out which color would white out the text, so beware:

-----------------------------spoiler-----------------------------------------

was that brail necklace thingie supposed to imply that she was alive? Or was that just a reminder that her spirit is watching over him or something? Movie could have done without it, but at least they didn't have her pop again in a rainstorm or something. I was impaled, but now I'm all better!

Still, it's a shame that they got rid of Jennifer Garner. what a woman.

Well, my thoughts are that from the time she was "hurt" to the end of the movie, (if I remember correctly) was a very short time. I got the impression that she could still be alive.

She is alive. They are even doing a spin-off movie for her.

Just caught the movie yesterday. She has to be alive... how else would the brail necklace exist? It wasn't the one she was wearing, because Matt Murdock jokingly asked "do they make this in braille?"

One of my friends also assumed she was dead, but I don't see how that would be possible.

she's dead.

in the comic book Elektra is killed. not necessarily by Bullseye, but she does die.

and i don't see there being any spinoffs from this movie. it was #1 for what - 2 weeks? hardly a blockbuster. if it was meant to be a blockbuster franchise it woulda came out this summer, not in the dead of winter. and i don't seee Ben Affleck locking himself in to such a role, i don't think he wants to be a hardcore action hero. not that i know his career plans or anything, but i don't think teenage boys are his target audience.

Ok, please leave out comic books as evidence of what happened in the MOVIE.

Elektra wears a necklace that someone gave her. Dardevil/Matt Murdock jokingly remarks "do they make this in Braille?."

After Elektra is seemingly killed, a necklace resembling the one Elektra had worn - except in Braille - is found by Daredevil himself.

Based on the movie alone, what is the rational explanation for the necklace, other than the fact that the character was still alive?

Sorry, HA. Not only is the seconfd Daredevil movie already confirmed, but so is the Elektra spin-off which will be set after the first movie. Jennifer Garner is already signed, and so is Affleck.

Also, Affleck is a big comic book fan, and this is one of his dream roles.

I have heard this as well. I also read that DD will not only have a sequel, but a third installment as well, in addition to the Elektra spin-off.

Haven't seen it and probably won't, but I read an article about some of the realism issues with the movie (yes, I know it's about a comic book character, but still...). I guess this one bothers me the most because I'm an attorney, but I can't believe they show the guy as an attorney with a huge private law firm, and then show him in a courtroom as a prosecutor in a criminal rape case!

Geez, talk about the dumbing down of America - no wonder 75%+ of this country didn't realize before OJ happened that there is a difference between criminal and civil cases. That's a pretty inexcusable thing to screw up, IMO.

yeah, that court scene was pretty bothersome. The fact that we have to ask these questions at all about her survival is sloppy filmmaking. My hunch is that the braille thing was added as an afterthought (post-production) to capitalize on Garner's new stardom. I enjoyed the movie while I was in the theater (an IMAX screen helped), but it definitely has not grown on me over time.

So what makes this Elektra special? Any unique abilities? Can she also leap off of tall buildings without a scratch, like blind people? Considering that she got whupped in every fight unless they were sandbags, they'd better juice her up.

Basically the biggest issues where the fact that DareDevil seemed to have super-human leaping abilities. If the whole point of the character is to show he's a real person, why can he jump 20 feet into the air, or take a 300 foot fall and swing carelessy when his spine should be breaking.

That's what hurt the movie the most in my opinion.

What a dissappointing movie. Awful storyline, dialogue, and acting all the way around. Colin Farrell was especially dreadful, as was the fact that Daredevil and Elektra seemingly fell in love in under 10 lines--pretty impressive.

I don't know that I'll be too interested in a sequel, but my read of the neclace is that she is alive and will be back.

Well, er, in the comics I think Elektra also comes back to life. Or somesuch. It's been a long time since I've read comic books.

LOL. My wife and I had a similar reaction while playing Shadowrun (an RPG which is basically D&D crossed with Cyberpunk.) Our campaign is set on a college campus, and two of the characters were just given tenure for saving the dean's life.

Me: "But the tenure process just doesn't work that way."
GM (incredulously): "You will accept that Bill's a troll, Eric's a dwarf, Kyle casts spells, and Sue has cybernetics, but your suspension of disbelief fails at the academic governance level?"
My wife: "But we're ex-professors. We don't know anything about dwarves and trolls, but we know a lot about the tenure process."
