OT-Ken Burns film "Unforgivable Blackness"
His latest film about Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson. I just wanted to see if anyone had the chance to see it. I was able to catch the second half of it tonight and like all his films I was sucked in. I was unfamiliar with Johnson's fall and it filled in many gaps for me. It was very well done, and complemented by great music from Wynton Marsalis.

I'm sure it'll be replayed again. I only caught the second half.

Two things that stuck out to me after watching this fine documentary:
1> Olde Tyme boxing/rasslin' action rooolz. The only thing cooler than watching two unitarded goofballs pawing around with eachother in hundred degree heat for eleventy-billion rounds is watching said goofballs earnestly toss around a medicine ball as the ultimate form of ancient 'conditioning'. 2> HATS! Can't get enough of 'em. I'd have to imagine that roughly 50% of the entire worlds income was spent on hats and hat upkeep around the turn of the 20th century. I bet if you'd have made little tiny hats that sat on top of people's regular hats, those little hat-hats would've made you a very rich man. |

Not quite. Jersey yes, wrong cable network apparently. Comcast has it listed as replaying on PBS (Channel 12) On Friday at 1AM and 3AM and then again next Thrusday (27th) at 9 PM. I know Jersey seems small, but we do have more than 1 cable network here. |
