MP League Question
I plan on updating our league file every night up until our first game (next Wed). What happens if once the latest league file is posted a GM does not download it and instead tries to sign a player that has already been signed in the current 'stage.' Since we're not progressing the stage at all until Wed what kind of conflicts will come about from this? Will I ABSOLUTELY HAVE to make sure each GM downloads the latest league file before doing anything? Or will the game recognize that a certain player is no longer available on the 'master CPU' and just ignore the offer?
Thanks, I'll check the responses after work since this site is blocked by the schools filter :-( |

If they don't download the file (most current stage), correct me if I am wrong, but the commish won't be able to import their file because it will give the commish an error about being "in the wrong stage" or something like that.

from my experience, if you are importing files multiple times before an actual stage is processed in the game (ie a week of simming), then it is not necessary for everyone to download the latest league file, though it is in their best interest. If someone signs a player on say the sunday file, and another person doesn't update their file, and offers the same player a contract (because he still appears available to this second player) on the monday file, then their offer is automatically rejected (since the player has been signed. So no, it isn't absolutely necessary, but it can be a headache if they don't

You can still import the file as the commish, since an actual stage hasn't been passed. If someone is working off of, say, a week 2 file for the week 3 games, then the wrong stage error occurs. |

I have to say I'm not sure about this -- you might want to try a test, and see if a file like this imports properly. Or just test it, and see what happens, but don't save the league.
By the way, Adamski, where in Michigan are you from? |
