TCY: Not sure why this is happening
I haven't played TCY for a long time but with the new college alignments I decided to do a dynasty.
I am playing as Miami and when I was recruiting for the first 6 weeks no one was accepting my visit requests. All of the recruits would be "considering". Then I would get an e-mail that they have declined my offer and have decided to attend another school. I thought this was strange for so many recruits not to even accept a visit to Miami, but I kept going. Then in week 8 I received an e-mail from a quarterback who was "considering" that he had accepted my invitation and would play for me. He is now listed as "committed". He never was listed as "visiting" and I never actually offered him a scholarship. Any ideas as to what is happening? |

I think you're just the victim of bad luck, a bad recruting year. I've had it happen too where I couldn't get anybody to visit. Just a major bummer.

Thats what I was thinking also, until the quarterback went from considering to committed to me even though he was never "visiting" and I never offered him a scholarship.

I've also seen this happen too. Usually it's because the guy had his heart set on another school(s) and those schools pulled their offers and the guy was desparate and chose you as the next best offer. I see this alot, especially late in the process. When you have a bad year and lose lots of guys, sometimes you can salvage it with a couple quality players like this who lost out on scholarships to their top choices. They get desparate and accept the first decent offer without even visiting.

But I never offered - at least not a scholarship - I only requested a visit. I do want this quarterback, but I could have been recruiting 2 quarterbacks and using this one as the backup in case the other QB didn't accept my scholarship. But now this quarterback has claimed a scholarship that I did not offer.

Are you sure he's on scholarship and not a walk on? If you didn't offer he should be a walk on. He did of course fill one of the 16 spots in your recruiting class.

Yeah, sounds like a walk-on to me. Check his scholarship status.

This happened during week 8. And he did use a scholarship.

Do you by chance have the assistants set to handle recruiting?
