How to Test?

Help me out here. I have been reading these strategy threads and want to contribute. So, how would I go about testing some of these attributes that we all question?

What I would like to do is take a single player universe, edit a player's ratings, and run a bunch of seasons.

What I am having trouble with is the player editing process. Can somebody walk me through this process? How do I export the teams' rosters, edit a certain rating, and then re-import the rosters.

Thanks in advance.

I think most have started a new career and used the Player File Generator. I think it creates a .csv file which you can then go in and manipulate and then import into the game.

At the beginning I believe you are given the choice of using an 'alternate player file'. Not sure of the mechanics of where/how you do this, as I have not done it.

EDIT: Also, the ratings in the .csv file are from 0-9 I believe, which the game then uses to create the specific ratings.

the player file generator doesn't create .csv file, it's the other way around. You use the player file generator to create an .fdt file from a .csv file. You can't export a team's rosters, edit ratings, then reimport.

You have to start with a .csv file, make whatever edits you want, then use the player file generator to make an .fdt file that you can use when you start a new career.
