Problems with a 2nd video card, help needed
I had a two monitor setup running on a PCI card. I've just installed an AGP card, and it seemingly installed without issue. My problem is getting a monitor to work correctly on it. I'm limited to chooing a 16 color setup for it. I've checked the drivers for both card and monitor (Dell 2001FP) and I can't see any obvious problems.
Are there any other likely causes anyone else can suggest?

Sometimes when I get a message on my fax machine, I wonder: "Did little demons get inside and type it?" I don't know! My primitive mind can't grasp these concepts.

I initially thought that you were wondering if you needed an input for the second card... Considering I have no idea what the hell I am talking about and my computer screen goes black for a couple seconds every 10 minutes or so I would strongly consider not reading this post and moving on to one that can be of more use to you.

My thoughts:
1. Is the monitor cable hooked up to the CPU? 2. Is the monitor cable hooked up to the monitor? 3. Is the power cord for the monitor plugged into the monitor? 4. Is the power cord for the monitor plugged into an electrical outlet? Hope it helps. |

1. yes 2. yes 3. yes 4. yes To clarifiy, i AM getting a picture. The probelm is that monitors on the new video card cannot be set to more than a 16 color setup at 800 x 600 resolution. |
