windows error
i got an error after a reboot (what else is new), and this popped up:
hxxp://oca.microsoft.com/en/response.aspx?SGD=63ddf2e2-1f65-4ee0-9be7-db785737e950&SID=1501 i wouldnt question it, but before i can install the fix, the site asks me to install something else first to verify that i really have windows. is this all legit? i dont know what caused me to worry, but better safe than sorry, right? |

Microsoft is requiring validation of XP installs before doing lots of downloads. Try going to download.microsoft.com and downloading something related to XP. I got it the last time I downloaded the DX9 SDK (but that's way too big for what you want).
If you do that, and get validated from a known Microsoft site, then try this thing again and see if it still asks.

damn, what a pain! i went through all the trouble, and then windows cant authenticate through firefox.
so i had to download another thing, which then asked me to get on my hands and knees and find the 25 character code on the side of my computer. all so i can download a fix for their problem. i love it! Last edited by Pyser : 06-16-2005 at 12:19 PM. |
