Hattrick Question: Should I PIC?

Here are my ratings from my last match (asymmetric 5-4-1):

Morrisville Morrisvillians
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: passable
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: excellent
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: wretched

Here are my opponent's (offensive 4-4-2):

Turicum Gladiators
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: weak
Central Defence: weak
Left Side Defence: weak
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: weak

Looks like a pushover, but their midfield is strong enough that I won't completely dominate. They're also the home team.

I'll also be playing 5-4-1 again, mostly so SI will respond to this thread with nothing but the word "*spit*"

What do you guys think, PIC or normal?

Im playing alot of my back ups in my cup game today. So i wont be PIC'ing.

But i should still kill them. They are pretty dam weak.

So long as you keep your defense stacked slightly to the left, I think PICing is a relatively safe bet. Also bear in mind that, despite the relative parity of your midfields, you should have much better team stamina, and therefore more possession in the 2nd half.

Nothing is without its risks, naturally, but it looks like a relatively safe bet to me.

I have a similar situation...I'm in a cup match that I'm fairly certain I'm going to win, and then a league match against the top team in my league. Just based on my ratings, I should wipe the walls with these guys, and I'm playing mostly starters because I used my backups against a really weak team in week one of league play. Here're our ratings:

Isla Vista Vandals (Symmetrical 3-5-2, Left Wing Back as Inner Mid):
Midfield: Weak
R. Defense: Solid
C. Defense: Excellent
L. Defense: Inadequate
R. Attack: Solid
C. Attack: Inadequate
L. Attack: Passable

Funky Monkeys (4-3-3, Left Winger as Forward):
Midfield: Wretched
R. Defense: Weak
C. Defense: Passable
L. Defense: Inadequate
R. Attack: Weak
C. Attack: Inadequate
L. Attack: Wretched

I know, like you said DataKing, that nothing is a sure thing. But he's running a 4-3-3, and I should absolutely slaughter him in midfield. Thoughts?

You should have no problem, but I'd rearrange your defense -- remove the right wingback instead of the left. His attack is stronger at the right & center.

That's a good call. Thanks NevStar, wouldn't have noticed that.

quick question about PIC - i'm PIC today in a friendly, and planning to PIC Sunday against what I see as the toughtest team in my division (recently relegated).

PIC leads to better team spirit, right? But getting killed leads to worse? So, if I PIC against this tough team, is it possible that I'll get killed so bad so as to negate the effects of the PIC?

Winning/Losing has no effect on team spirit (but it does affect team confidence).

PIC/MOTS'ing a friendly has no effect. It only works for 'competitive' games.

I presume this implies that you move a winger back to defensive middie. Not entirely sure, tho. I don't play those heathen formations.

Oops, I deleted my post. I realized after I posted - and went back to the top and re-read - that it looks like he brought his left winger down to central defense [guessing based on wretched rating on left-side attack]. Sorry about that, SI.

Just gave me another chance to take a shot at the defenseheads. Hmm... need to come up with an official nickname for those offensive non-offensive people.
