I say no way. LT is awesome, but the Palmer/Johnson combo is gonna be pretty consistent.
Edit: Meant Palmer/Larry Johnson, not Palmer/Chad Johnson...although that combo is pretty consistent as well. Last edited by Raiders Army : 11-28-2005 at 04:09 PM. |

I'd say no too. Warner and Favre just aren't good replacements for Palmer at this point. LT is freaking awesome, but I think you are paying an expensive price to get him.

Not a keeper. Two starting WRs required.

Keeper or redraft? How many WRs do you need to start?

Problem is you have Farve and Driver. That's not the combo I'd bank on.
LT and Larry are probably a wash here on in. Is Driver worth the drop from Palmer. That's debatable. I'd need to take a look at the schedules.

Only 2 wideouts I'd take my chances on your existing group.

How many QBs do you have to play? If it's two, no way do I make this trade. That puts all your eggs in one basket.
By my very quick and rough estimate, you probably pick up 3-5 points per game with LT or Johnson and 1 point with Driver over Evans or Muhammad. But you're giving away maybe 7 points by going from Carson to one of your quarterbacks. It's more or less of a wash, but slightly against you. To me it boils down to depthy. If you have to start two quarterbacks, no way I make this deal. I probably don't make this deal period because this season Favre/Warner have been running so hot/cold that they could easily go out and throw four picks and leave you with nothing. Palmer's been much more consistent this season. I also agree with rkmsuf that it's a bad combo. Favre having a bad day likely means Driver having a bad day and you're hosed. I like your balance and depth better as it is now, even if you're thin at WR. I'd rather be thin at WR than QB or RB. |

Only need to start 1 QB each week.
I appreciate the thoughtful responses, fellas. Keep them coming. So far, I have to agree. I am not sold on this deal, even though having Tomlinson is very, very tempting...

I wouldn't make that trade if I were you. It has already been said. You're going to get more points out of Palmer and Johnson than you will Tomlinson and Driver.
Are you in the playoff hunt? How big is the league? |

I didn't do the trade. I didn't do it... for the children.
I countered with L. Johnson and Warner for Tomlinson. No way he will accept it, but I like to keep an open dialogue.

Nice counter-offer. That's more fair IMHO. A lot of times I think people offer some outrageous trades.
