Reunion

Reunion

In 1986 they were best of friends. By 2005 one will be murdered. All will be suspects.

The new show where every episode is another year. And every year reveals another step in solving the mystery of the murder between high school friends. The six characters age from 18 to 38 in the course of one television season!

It premieres Tonight Thurdays on Foxtv.

I've considered watching this, but don't think I can invest my time in having to follow a show the entire season. For instance, tonight I would have to tape it, and I usually end up not watching shows I tape. What kind of reviews has it gotten?

I could only envision one person being murdered in 1986.

I'm pretty sure that after the '86 season a few Browns fans would want to see Elway die.

Give me a break. A show about the '86 Browns would be a suicide, not a murder.

I Tivo'd Reunion (oops, used Tivo as a verb, now Tivo's gonna come get me and...something...) for viewing this weekend. I'd be interested in hearing other (non-spoiler) opinions about it today.

Watch it last night.

its a great show. they show how they all where in 1986. some events happen in that year that alter there life plan.

they also jump to the present day, with an investager asking questions to of the 6 friends for the murder of one of there friend.

so they didnt show who died among the 6 friends and which of the 6 friends did the killing. i guess we wont know until the end of the season

Each Year we get more clues. Next will be 1987

i really enjoy the show and highly recommend it.

Too bad it was on opposite football last night. 9pm on Thursday is CSI time, too. So there's really no point in me even giving this a shot.

Problem is, though, I will not be able to watch it the rest of the year. And even if I made a concerted effort to do so, I would likely miss more than 1 episode, which would kill the show for me.

I was simply pointing out that the pilot was being replayed tonight, but yeah, I agree with you and it's why, even though it looks pretty cool, I just can't put that much commitment in a TV show of all things.

While it's not exactly the same, we have a VCR (I know, welcome to 1990 ) but sometimes you tape something and then you can't find time to watch it before the next episode, then you tape that one too, and then it's just too late and you give up...

I have no use for a Tivo and have 3 VCRs, none of which I use to tape shows. I have no interest in watching a TV show, let alone an entire season's worth of shows, in my "spare time." Not gonna happen. My spare TV time is taken up with other shows I want to watch and sports. I'm not cutting into that time to fit a show in that I didn't care enough about to make time to watch when it originally aired.

I think this show will stay on my Tivo. I like how the show goes back and forth from present day to the past.

I do have one question. Is this show a one season deal because if they do all 20 years in 20 episodes I don't see how they could do a second season? Unless they get a whole new cast and storyline.

I wonder if they would do a different time period. There are only so many Mr. Mister hits to fill a soundtrack.

We decided to watch it last night, just in case it was good enough to continue watching. It wasn't.

The idea itself isn't bad, but the stupidity of the set-ups is what I couldn't handle. The fact that it's a high school kid primarily in charge of retaining his own lawyer, and the parents not being involved in anyway, like we're watching a Peanuts cartoon, was the worst. And then there was the ending...OK, that wraps up what you know about 1986, tell me about 1987. How freaking stupid. Quick, someone here recount everything they know about, say, 1992, from begining to end, then I'll ask you about 1993. But be sure not to remember anything from 1994 yet, and don't backtrack to 1991, because we already covered that. Yep, I know the human mind works exactly like that...!?

I watched it last night. It is without a doubt the worst hour of television I have seen in years. Horrid acting, horrid dialogue, not to mention nobody really looks all that 80'sish.

I followed up by just watching the Pterodactyl parts of the Sci Fi channel movie with Coolio. Possibly the worst movie I have ever seen, and I only saw like 20 minutes of it.

I finally watched the first episode, too. Lots of potential washed down the drain by a boatload of sheer cheesiness. Oh, well.

This show is now cancelled. I can't say it's a good show, but the mystery at least had me intrigued, and it gave me an alternative to CSI overload.

Of all the new shows, this one was the most intriguing from the summaries and the only one I actually tried. But the one episode I saw was really bad. The acting, the forced plot, etc. - it was like watching Melrose Place or something.

from the article looks like Reunion will be on the air but not the full season as a lot of fans hoped for.

Quote:
Reunion is the only one to inspire the customary online petition drive. On PetitionOnline.com, at least 1,100 signatories have urged Fox to keep the show on the air for a full season--the better to wrap up the murder mystery. But according to the Hollywood trade papers, the producers of Reunion, like those of Hot Properties and Threshold, have been told that 13 episodes--not the full-season's contingent of 22--will suffice
