It's comforting at least that while PB is at the end of our popularity scale, there are _SIX_ Democrats behind him -- all of them except PF, KWhit, and chesapeake. Jeez.

How about this for today's bill?
"The actions of all non-Wolves shall not be blocked by a thief." Definitely up for other ideas, though. |

I like that a lot. It's handy, but not so powerful that we won't get it.

Also, that Examiner role sounds cool -- might be too much to add, though.

Hey guys, still catching up some but great job yesterday. I appreciate the move to support me as apparently I'm teh suck for popularity, plus I've got them surrying me.
I like the idea of getting Lathum or Henry out as we are getting crushed numbers-wise right now. |

I'd like to suggest we put forth the "Public Review of all Riders" Act today. Its nothing more than the ability to SEE the riders being attached to bills before they get voted on. Allows us to get a better feel for them publicly and vote them down instead of relying on the VETO and possibly hurting ourselves politically.

"Public Rider Information Disclosure Enactment" (PRIDE)
Due to the obviously underhanded movements o the wolf party to damage our political standing by attaching riders to bills known to be in good standing and acceptance, thereby garnering more power for themselves under the veil of decent legislation. We hereby put forth the following Bill: "All Riders to be attached to legislation yet to be voted upon, will become publicly available for review." This means that any rider, from any party must be announced publicly when it is attached to a bill going forward for a vote. it does not require the knowledge of WHO attached it or which PARTY attached it, simply the legislation it contains. This will allow the good membership of this congress the time to review such policies before passing them through Congress. |

I'm skeptical of the constitutionality from a game-mechanic standpoint. How would that work? We propose a bill in the public thread, and the wolves have a certain amount of time to attach a rider before we vote on it?
Also, what's the difference between having the President veto it, or all of us just voting 'no' on it? Or are you thinking that we can submit another bill once the rider is attached, making the wolves waste their rider? |

I like the concept, but I don't think that will fly because of the way this game is being moderated -- CR isn't here to tell us about the riders, and the riders can come in whenever, so we'd have to legislate that, too. My feeling is the entire combination of things is just too much, even though I think it's a great idea and I'd love for it to pass.

Plus I would rather see a bill where the doctor and bodyguard could communicate via PM so they don't both protect the same person.

Why didn't you mention that to them earlier, or to us? That's a centrist bill, so definitely something we can pass through if we want to try. I think it's weird, though, that you're worried about the constitutionality of their bill, when I think what you propose is more likely to be unconstitutional. |

What do you guys think of an examiner role, but random among all players, not just non-wolf? If the wolves get it, they haven't really gained anything, but maybe the chance that we WON'T get it will be enough to make it unconstitutional.

It was just an idea, I don't really thinkg it would pass unless like you mentioned it was more of a brothers role where they die together which is something we shouldn't bother with. What about some of the other ideas I propsed awhile ago, something where we could benefit with a % chance to identify a wolf during a kill, but also an increase in negative publicity if someone did something that would normally give them negative publicity like switching votes and the like?

We could ban vote switches in the last 10 minutes, at least. That way people can still vote but they can't change, and if people have been around but not voted we can view them with appropriate suspicion.

Ah, okay.
Well, I don't really have any ideas as to what to do for today. Maybe the seer broadcast thing again? CR said that one was 50/50 a day or two ago, so it's probably even worse now, but I'm out of ideas for useful stuff. |

My guess is that it wouldn't fly, and I'm not thrilled about the idea of hurting our ability to do the things we need to do to win the game. Elections are largely our enemy, and it hurts us for vetoes and necessary vote switches to hurt us. Last 10 minute votes don't need to be made any worse -- we already look unkindly towards them as it is.

How about a Hunter? Create a non-wolf role who, if the only people alive are him and a wolf, the village wins. Seems like something that's not very powerful.

Well...remember, winning this game is about control of districts. So there would have to be only two guys left alive and they'd have to control the same number of districts. So ultimately, this is merely another clear -- which I'm okay with, but CR may not like that much.

What about a Secret Service bill where all members of Congress are given a 10% chance of living through an attack (this is a token percentage). Hell, if necessary, let the wolves have a 10% chance of living through an attack by any villager too.

Good catch. Not sure how to word it. Also, word is the Speaker will pass a Thief bill. So our idea of a "No villager can have their actions blocked by anyone" bill might help us out. |
