For being responsible and taking their time calling results? Would you think ESPN was a good source if they called football games with 2 minutes left?

Legalization in Washington is currently 51% for 49% against, really close.

Same sex marriage is 54% no, very disappointing in that.

I think Romney fucked up when he backed off the 47% comments. It was a powerful political message that he could have sold to some of the 47%

This thread started out as a forum for hopes and then predictions for the Obama presidency. Does anybody have any specific hopes and predictions for term 2?

Edit: In the bigger picture for the country, I just hope that things are at least no worse than now, and that there's some progress or at least a hint of progress or some general idea how public debt situation will be confronted going forward.

Obama specifically, I just hope he stays relatively strong on national defense, that he doesn't go too far left on Supreme Court nominees and focuses on qualifications first (I've been fine with his two picks thus far), otherwise, I really have no idea at all what expect regarding his role with the congress and the economy. Mostly a lot of talking, I'd imagine, and a lot of frustration for everyone involved. So, whatever.

It's a step in the right direction, at least.

Looks like this is a decent site to follow the results if you're outside of Washington State - http://www.policymic.com/articles/18...in-the-balance

a kid I am friends with on Facebook that I work with, who is black, posted "My president is black, I am so pumped"

That is the thing that annoys me. Vote for someone because you agree with their policies, or vote along party lines, but don't vote for a candidate, black or white, because of the color of their skin.

Not to mention if Romney won and I posted " I am so pumped, my president is white!" I would be crucified.

Just irks me.

I hope both sides move toward compromising to move things forward, rather than pure obstructionism.

Good old fashioned deal cutting and pork barrel deal making in back rooms, just like in the "good old days".

As said in this thread several times, I never knew how it could be close despite what most people were talking about. Obama already had a good lead before any of the so-called battleground states came into play.

Really pissed about the marijuana thing here in Colorado. Now I have to smell that stinking shit all over the place and watch out for drivers driving while high (which I know first hand how bad that can be)?

I don't smoke any more myself, but honestly, how many MORE people are going to drive high now than those who already were? There won't be a tremendous spike in numbers, if there is any difference at all.

I would be shocked if the feds allowed this to happen. I think we are a long way off from people being able to smoke pot legally and/or purchase it legally, let alone there being pot type bars, etc...
