that was NOT a TD by Foster. No way, no how.

I love how the linesman who called it was the backside guy (is that the term), while the guy who had the clearer view didn't call it, so that means it gets called a TD?

bullshit.

Texans might want to try something called "defense" with a minute to go here

The ball doesn't have to cross the line, just touch it.

Yeah, that doesn't seem like the right call. He wasn't blocked into him or anything, and he took out the punter's landing spot.

Is there some rule about blocking the punter's landing spot being a foul (legit question)?

Which ought to be a penalty. it shouldn't be about the intent if it's about protecting a defenseless player, right?

I assumed that that falls under the rules protecting the punter - if it doesn't then i guess it was technically a good call, but the rule ought to be changed.

See I thought they clearly showed that he wasn't down initially, and that he went down on the line, ball across the plane.

Also the previous couple of downs clearly showed that Houston was owning that side of the line of scrimmage.

I mean I'm rooting for the pats here, but you've gotta give credit where it is due.

Also I think we would agree on roughing the kicker.

Player was down at 2 seconds. Whistle wasn't blown until after 0 seconds left. I noticed the announcers said nothing and went quickly to the kick after the replay.

He took out his leg, you could clearly see that on the replay.

LMAO

Purposefully? Like he has any control over where his foot is going in that split second.

Give me a fucking break.

You're right, the punter purposely obeyed the law of gravity there. For the Patiots that should be optional.

If players are allowed to take out a kicker's plant leg then yes it wasn't a penalty.

It's a nice effort by the refs to keep the Texans in the game. I'm not sure it's going to work

Having recently awoken from a nap that started around halftime today, reading both this thread & my Facebook wall has been rather entertaining

(Yeah, I read the game recap stories elsewhere first)
