Glad to see Ocho leave Cinci.. I just wonder if Mike Brown is going to do anything at all with all the cap room he has.. I doubt any big names would want to come to Cinci, but with the money available, they could give Nnamdi 15 mil and still have something like 25-30 mil left to spend.

Chad Johnson and Albert Haynesworth?

I wonder how long they will last. Didn't the Patriots ship Moss out of town last year because he was becoming a distraction? Then they go ahead sign two of the bigger headaches in the leauge? Smacks of a bit of arrogance.

I've always kind of liked the Patriots because of Tom Brad. Can the power of Tom Brady overcome this?

Tune in to find out!

Comparing Johnson and Haynesworth is a bit unfair to 85. One's braggadocious. The other has broken the law, turned on his teammates, turned on his coaches, and committed assault during an NFL game.

Seems like even money that at least one of those is on the active roster longer than Haynesworth.

Agreed with Jon here. It's like Billy's saying "I CAN TURN ANYONE AROUND! I'M BILL FUCKING BELICHICK"

all the good news is we've cornered the market on headcases in this market. :P

Haynesworth is a 1-2 year guy max. I have little faith he will work in the end, but we'll see. I don't see Ocho being as much of an issue. Sure, he's a cut up, but I think in the right environment he works out. I can't imagine putting him in the same category as Moss. Ocho at least had the ability to stay with one team as where Moss will be on team 5, IIRC. I think Bill partly looks at these as short term deals where he gets what he can out of it, and when/if it goes bad he dumps the player.

If it hasn't been mentioned, Vince Young is done with the Titans.

+1

I think its more along the lines of the Pats being a known quantity & Superbowl contender every season. These players will play hard for a chance at a ring for at least 1 season, maybe 2, before things will go south. The alternative is that they go to a team that has less established success & coaches and these guys flake out much quicker. I think its a good gamble for the Pats...not a good gamble for teams like Arizona, Jax, Cleveland (and obviously Cinci & Washington).

I have zero concerns with Chad Johnson on this team.

edit: Behavior-wise. Performance-wise, I think he'll be useful this year but not expecting big things.

Detroit Lions Roster Moves: Recap Of Tuesday, Wednesday - Pride Of Detroit

Summation of what Detroit has done. Even if Rayner doesn't win out, I think he's the next guy and he'll be there for them. It's mostly depending on when Hanson can't do it anymore. Let's be honest. Anybody who is good and willing to be in their 19th season with the Lions deserves some sort of award, or a straightjacket. They just need to fill CB and S.

NFL network just reported CB Jonathan Joseph to the Texans. Good move for them and as a Packer fan, I'm glad the Lions didn't get him.

Who in the hell are the Bengals going to spend all that cap room on? Are they going to sign waterboy Sheckey Brown to a one year $40 million dollar contract?

FWIW, if someone offered me 3-1 odds right now that Haynesworth won't be on the active, opening day roster of the Pats, I would take that bet.

Sounds like Haynesworth's contract is not guaranteed. So they need one Ted Washington year out of him and then he can go on his merry way.

What a shitty time to be from southern Ohio. The Bengals will suck, the Reds are terribly disappointing and OSU should get the death penalty.

Darren Sproles to the Saints. 4 years, $14 million with $6 million guaranteed.

Didn't take long to find Bush's replacement in the gameplan.

Fairley signed in Detroit, 4 years with a team option for 5. Any other year I would have pegged him as a possible hold out candidate. The NFL needed this new rookie scale years ago.

Steelers resign OLs Willie Colon and Jonathan Scott and release Flozell Adams. I guess Adams had a $5-million cap hit this season, but I'd like to see him back.

With Colon back, he's the starter at RT. And, his cap hit this year will be $2.7M.

I want no part of Adams, especially at $5M, and certainly not at LT.

Scott is not ideal, but IMO better than Adams at LT.

Yeah. I still like the idea of having Adams at RT and depth, but not at that price. To be fair, I guess he has probably made enough money and taken enough of a beating on his body that it may just not be worth it for him to come back without getting a big payday.

I guess there is a chance that Starks could be back (according to Bouchette). He did mention that Starks was having trouble getting his weight under control, but if he could get back at a reasonable ($2-3M hit), I'd probably feel better with him in the fold.

Absolutely. None of the group is great, but if you have Starks (about $3M), Colon ($2.7M) and Scott (about $1M) as your 3 T next year, that is at worst a decent group, and possibly above average. All at a cost of what Starks was scheduled to make.

Wasn't Matt Moore pretty awful last year? He doesn't sound like much of an upgrade over Henne.

It gets harder and harder to care about the Dolphins as time goes by. Matt Moore? I'd rather give Henne one more year to totally verify that he is not the solution.
