McConnell, yes. Rubio is a complete empty suit, so who knows. Cruz only sees what might give him more power and he'll gladly smell the farts of anyone that appears to help him.

Case in point, 10-15 years ago on this very board we were talking about how people like Cruz & Rubio and the rest of the Tea Party bandwagon were pretty fringe and radical for the GOP and now they're the moderate middle of the GOP.

So essentially, almost exactly as the right-wing religious person, but on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

My father-in-law had a saying for these types of people that resonated with me: "Sitting in a church makes you no more a Christian than sitting in a garage makes me a car".

I don't think it's the case that the establishment was too afraid of the base. It's more that every time they tried, the base said no. That's pretty much what the whole 2016 primary was. If it was just a corrupt establishment, it would be far better situation and an easier problem to solve.

Looking forward to the Zuck vs Musk cage fight.

They should pair that up with a Boebert vs MTG fight also.

I'm rooting for you Zuck, hope this becomes a viable alternative.

Set the rules of the road early, clearly and transparently though. Let everyone know what the rules are, provide examples, and be consistent. There's a wealth of use cases from Twitter already.

Bluechecks now have a 25,000 character limit.

More reason to block them all.

I got an idea. a mixed tag match. Zuck-MTG vs Musk-Boebert in a steel cage.

During the fight, we weld the cage shut, encase it in concrete and then send it into the sun.

Musk has a potential trainer!

Andrew Tate says he wants to train Elon Musk to fight the jiu-jitsu loving Mark Zuckerberg, after the two billionaires told the world they'd go mano a mano in a cage match

You Go Andrew Tate!!!! (Go to jail that is, assuming he's found guilty in his upcoming trial)

Isn't this the plot to one of the kickboxer movies? (or bloodsport.

And before you dismiss that JUST as a joke, I think it was, I vaguely remember one of the plots being "inmate trains someone to be champion"

Also let's not confuse education with intelligence. Just because you know more doesn't mean you are smarter. If you have got your degree you have been subjected to the brainwashing of the academic cult. Then perhaps you move to the tech cult. Before you know it your opinion is the companies opinion. What option do you have if you want to fit in? You would likely learn a lot from working a year in construction perhaps?

The way forward is surely to meet in the middle. The left ideology is a little naive and has its problems too. The world is different for a $350k Silicon valley worker compared to a $60k construction worker. Nobody is right or wrong, you are operating in different worlds. The construction guy may be smarter than you are. Just without the rich parents and opportunities. Without compromise your country will remain at war with each other. It will likely get worse too.

I will chalk it up to you living in another country and not having regular interactions with these people, because virtually everything you said is either flat out wrong or some right wing twisted version. I got my PhD in Engineering, we had a cult of tissue mechanics and biotransport...does that count? I mean honestly, we worked in labs and took fundamental science and math courses. I guess I was indoctrinated in to critical thinking and problem solving cults? Even as an undergrad, I was indoctrinated in learning, writing, and being curious by my teachers. The horror!

There's a lot of batshit people around the world that agree with any number of things, starting with socialism.

That doesn't change the reality that there are only three primary causes for U.S. version of liberalism: ignorance, mental/emotional illness, plain old evil.

It's fun to theorize what will happen in the fight. I guess it's possible that Musk gets a lucky punch in but if it goes to the mat, he's a goner.

Are there Vegas odds on how long the fight will last?

I don't see a lucky punch happening, Zuckerberg is actually competent at BJJ and in much better shape, I see him going for a quick takedown and rag dolling Musk until he catches him in a sub.

I don't think BJJ is what some people think it is in a street fight, in fact I would say it is foolish to use it on the street in probably 90% of confrontations. But in a controlled environment, I can't state enough, how huge the advantage someone who has trained for even just two years has over the average Joe, who tries to learn it in a 4-6 week fight camp.

However in a street fight, if the bjj guys intent is to simply control the opponents limbs until the fight is broken up there is no better technique that also minimize the chances of an accident occurring. My son has a punch thrown at him and he did what he was taught to do which was to control their sleeves (gi-like) and take it to the ground until someone breaks it up. It worked. Another great thing that occurred is the school let it all go because we explained that Aiden simply controlled the aggressor who threw the punch and it went away. Pretty cool to understand there the training worked.

Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg Contacted by Italy to Fight at Colosseum

This will blow your mind -- an official from the government of Italy contacted Mark Zuckerberg about staging a UFC fight against Elon Musk at the most legendary battleground in the world ... Rome's Colosseum ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We're told Zuckerberg's people passed on the message to UFC Prez Dana White, whose people contacted the Minister.

Didn't know about Musk's credentials. Wonder how much training he really took and how long ago. If he has been training, yeah I can see a lucky punch or kick.

For someone who has done some BJJ, Zuck will crush him. I've rolled with people half my size but experienced and they just dominate. It's really such a helpless feeling. Musk's only hope is to use his size in some capacity. But I can't imagine they'd allow the fight to have that kind of a weight discrepancy.

Anyway, not sure on Musk's background but he is a pathological liar. I really don't think he's trained as much as Zuck and there is no way he is going to enter a cage with someone who has actually trained in BJJ and has 12 years on him.

I deleted my Twitter account the day it changed hands to the buffoon. I have felt zero desire to use it since then, of course. Occasionally, I would be led there from reddit or somewhere when someone shared a link, but that's it. Yesterday, that stopped working. Now you have to be logged in to view twitter at all.

I find it hilarious watching the site spiral downhill like this.

.

I 100% agree with this statement, in fact I hate rolling with small, flexible guys because they can throw up subs from just about any position. I go around 210, so I always use top pressure against those types, sometimes with little success LOL, but I would much rather roll with someone my size or bigger any time.

So, not displaying Tweets to non-registered users (mostly those coming across tweets on other websites/in searches) and limiting the amount of posts a user is allowed to "read" (click on? Scroll past? Repliea included?) a day with 'verified' accounts getting a much higher limit. Reducing traffic on social media with advertisement being the main revenue stream is certainly a strategy (it's pretty transparent he wants to transform it into a subscription only tool that finances itself)

Right now many literally can't use the site anyway, so there's that as well.
