I wonder how many holes he'll be able to get in before Augusta.

from Toronto Star columnist Dave Perkins
"So that's what Tiger Woods meant when he said he would be fighting the temptations: He's coming back to golf at a club that doesn't allow women,"

Odd timing to announce you are getting divorced and then go on a rant defending somebody who did some epic cheating on their wife.

I don't think they ever married, so there's not any hypocrisy issues at play with regard to cheating on a spouse. I don't know, however, if one or the other was cheating regardless of legal status, though.

After spending the weekend at my in-laws hearing nothing but people rooting crudely for Tiger to do as poorly as possible in the Master's, I can sympathize if there's now some backlash to the anti-Tiger movement. The venom that people in my family had over this was ridiculous, and at some point, as Jim says, it turns into an excuse to throw hate at someone. Of course it doesn't change anything about what he did and how wrong it was, but naturally the pendulum will start swinging the other way when people get this maniacal about it. |

Also Carrey may be in a general "hate all women" mode at this point and may go back and regret his forcefulness on this.
Though I think there may be some truth in the statement that she had to know, somewhat, that Tiger had been cheating on her.

There is no reason to hate Tiger. He should have never gotten married and no one would have said a thing.

Yeah, well, he DID get married. Nobody forced him to do that. He then went out and screwed around extensively. Plenty of reasons not to like him, and plenty of reasons to root for his professional failure.

Exactly. When you hate women, like Noop does, then definitely DO NOT get married.

Plenty of dollars if she leaves him. Plus, the great bonus of not having to deal with him anymore.

I'm sure she decided this a long time ago. Possibly immediately after this all went down. But it might have taken the lawyers a while to cut a deal.

The potential of many more dollars if she sticks around for a bit. Not saying I agree with her, but I can see why she would considering sticking it for an even bigger pay day. |

So if she marries Tiger, does she keep the ex-husband's last name?

So I guess the lesson from Tiger and Roy is knowing when to get married.

I dont think anyone has suggested that. But he never wanted to be married, or at least never wanted to act married. If he was a single guy smashing Denny's waitresses and Movie Theater ticket takers, then he is a playboy. Nothing more is said of it. But when he was an adulterer and his whole word came crashing down... I have long believed that most great accomplishment is fueled by ridiculous insecurity. I think Tiger is the epitome of that. As long as he is fooling everyone he is unstoppable. Once the charade is up and he isn't the smartest dude in the room who can do know wrong. When he sits alone he wonders, 'Am I really that good of a golfer? Maybe it was just a down few years.' And from there the snowball grows |
