Interesting turn of events. I was wondering if my strategy of acting like a complete newbie was working. Apparently it wasn't working well enough.

I've only played a few games at my usual site, and I'm actually in the process of GMing my first game. I've invited that group over here, hopefully some of them will join us for the next game. The squirrel that you all noticed lurking in the game thread today is one of them already.
