There are recorded phone calls of Lewis on the horn with the guy that sold him all the illegal stuff. Lewis is specifically asking the guy to send him "everything he has" during the call.

Kinda funny, actually.

This is almost comical. I would love to see a transcript of the full conversation.

Magic Recovery Ointment Company: "Hey Ray, how's it going?"
Ray52: "Ah man, got a nasty triceps tear."
MROC: "Sorry to hear that Ray. By the way, do you know we have this magic ointment made from the antlers of deer?"
R52: "No, I haven't. Why is it magic?"
MROC: "Well, Ray, after years of refining and strict clinical trials, we found that if you grind up deer antlers, it will cure almost anything."
R52: "Anything?"
MROC: "Anything, Ray. It can even get blood out of white clothing."
R52: "Haha! I see what you did there. Seriously though, you think it could heal a torn triceps?"
MROC: "Absolutely. Just use the topical ointment and in a few weeks, you'll be as good as new."
R52: "I really don't have a few weeks. I need to get back in the game. Just send me everything you got and I'll just do an intense regime of applying the topical ointment."
MROC: "No problem. One things for sure Ray, you definitely know how to be intense!"
R52: "Haha! Indeed I do. Indeed I do."

Here you go...the actual transcript is included in a Sports Illustrated article.

Tracing the involvement of NFL, college football players with S.W.A.T.S. - NFL - SI.com

---

Hours after he tore his triceps during an Oct. 14 home game against the Cowboys, Ravens All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis and Ross connected on the phone. Again, Ross videotaped the call.

"It's bottom, near the elbow," Lewis said of the tear. After asking a few pseudo diagnostic questions, Ross concluded, "All right, well this is going to be simple. . . . How many pain chips you got around the house?"

"I got plenty of them," Lewis replied.

Ross prescribed a deluxe program, including holographic stickers on the right elbow; copious quantities of the powder additive; sleeping in front of a beam-ray light programmed with frequencies for tissue regeneration and pain relief; drinking negatively charged water; a 10-per-day regimen of the deer-antler pills that will "rebuild your brain via your small intestines" (and which Lewis said he hadn't been taking, then swallowed four during the conversation); and spritzes of deer-antler velvet extract (the Ultimate Spray) every two hours.

"Spray on my elbow every two hours?" Lewis asked.

"No," Ross said, "under your tongue."

Toward the end of the talk, Lewis asked Ross to "just pile me up and just send me everything you got, because I got to get back on this this week."

Not even Oakland likes the Raiders. Maybe Al Davis was right.

I can't wait to read this article.

My bolding: Ah, nothing like quack medicine to the rescue. I wonder if Ray also wears one of those magnetic bracelets?

Yeah, I was there for 4, and outside of a few service guys that were from Pitt, I agree.

Although, I never ventured far into the Samoan community, and I'd bet Troy Polamalu brings a pretty decent fan base.

Only if they post Leaf's bail and have a 3-way QB competition. Montana's so fractured they might actually be able to pick up a county or two for taking him off their hands.

Posted on another board I go to sometimes. This one is almost all people from the part of Seattle I used to live in, so the idiot quota is off the charts.

Man, this rivalry will set the stage for the next ten years! The two best most- ignored at draft time QBs in history going head to head every year for two- plus games. (I'm thinking three times a year more often than not, not counting pre- season) Can't wait for the 2013 season to begin!
Those guys are the most exciting players to hit the league in... how long? Michael Vick? Aaron Double- Discount Check? Luck & RG3 this year? All of them can take a back seat!

sadly this guy is serious

Maybe I'm crazy too, but I don't think it's THAT bad. I can see the 49ers and Seahawks - Kaep v Russell - Carrol v Harbaugh .. as a solid rivalry for the next little bit.

Add a splash of homer excitement to that, and his post isn't that crazy.

Like I said though, Maybe I'm crazy too haha.

Oh, I think it will be a great rivalry. I was talking about the part where he claims they are the 2 most underdrafted QBs in history. That is crazy talk.

I can't think of a worse 2 weeks for the NFL than from the moment the last conference championship game ends until the kick-off for the Supber Bowl.

It's just the worst.

I agree with this when I'm not really interested in the game.

My wife asked me yesterday what sort of goodies she could make for the occasion and gave her some ideas. I was finally excited for the game.

It was something like 10 years ago that they stopped alternating between giving the Super Bowl teams an extra week off and not doing so. I always enjoyed the build-up more when there wasn't a bye week in between. (They were also able to finish the season in January in those years!)

I am shocked no one pointed out the "Back to Back World War Champs" shirt, with the Stars & Stripes overlaid on a map outline of the US. That is kinda hilarious. I would say who is wearing it in the pic, but damned if I know--I'm awful at recognizing players.

Try and forget that this is from Bleacher Report. I thought Richard Sherman was pretty damn cool in this:

Cool but funny that Arians and Pagano were 1 and 2 in the Coach of the Year voting. They deserved it, unlike the results for MVP and Comeback (should've been switched) and RoY (should've been Wilson).

A couple predictions, sure to go wrong:

#1. Akers has a perfect day, converting all extra points and 2-2 on field goals.

#2. LaMichael James has a breakout game scoring three TD's, one rushing, one receiving and one on a kick return, on his way to winning MVP. The 49ers have been using James more and more in this offense, and the team seems due to have a big KR.

#3. The 49ers coast to a 34-7 lead by the end of the 3rd, but the Ravens score two garbage time touchdowns to make the final score 34-21. We're overdue for a Super Bowl blowout, and it seems like this game can either be a 49ers blowout, or a classic where the Ravens or Niners win late. I'm going with the former.

To be fair, I am a 49ers homer, so any and all of these predictions can certainly fail spectacularly.

It seems like the 49ers just have too many ways to score. Even if Baltimore can take some of them away, they will be able to transition on the fly to others.

So, I see the 49ers winning by, say, 10.

I'm not totally confident in that prediction b/c Baltimore's MO this season/post-season has been to play better than people expected. But, there it is.

I'll guess 27-17 San Francisco.

The two week wait is finally almost over and the area is definitely stricken with 49er fever and it's pretty cool to see.
