García Wins RL's Best Bat Trophy
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: The premier hitter in the Republic League in July was Hartford right fielder Jesús García. For his standout play, he was voted the Batter of the Month.

García was selected after batting .352, hitting 5 home runs, scoring 16 runs and driving in 18.

This year García has 14 home runs and a .299 batting average.


Larson Named CL Batter of the Month
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Roy Larson hit the baseball with consistency all month long and was voted the Continental League's Batter of the Month for July.

The Tokyo first baseman batted .452 and posted 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He also drew 6 walks for a .489 OBP.

Larson is hitting .327 so far this season with 68 RBIs and 61 runs scored. He has 129 hits including 24 home runs, 22 walks and .374 OBP.

Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Jesús García's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Hartford right fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In July he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .352 with 7 doubles, no triples and 5 home runs. García also scored 16 times and drove in 18 runs.

This season García is batting at a .299 clip with 14 home runs and 64 RBIs.


Rookie Fashions Fantastic Month
Thursday, August 1st, 2086: Francisco Ramos is beginning to make a name for himself and he did it by posting a 4-1 record and a 1.64 ERA in July. For his spectacular mound performance last month he has been named BNN's Rookie of the Month in the Continental League.

The 24-year-old newcomer isn't at all intimidated by his lack of experience, at least not outwardly. In fact, by the way he has pitched beyond his years, you could easily mistake him for a veteran.

In 5 starts for the Assassins Ramos has struck out 34 batters in 38.1 innings, holding opposing hitters to a batting average of .188 during his hot streak.

This year Ramos has compiled a 11-7 mark with a 2.18 ERA.

Sunday, August 18th, 2086: In an outstanding mound performance, Will Grant of the Colorado Rancheros scuttled the Hartford Harpooners 3-0 on a 2-hit shutout, ringing up 7 strikeouts and giving up no walks.

"He's got great stuff and good movement," the Hartford manager said after the game.

"He threw a lot of breaking balls. He made adjustments. We just couldn't figure him out today."

Grant Top RL Pitcher in August
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: There's no doubt that Rancheros starter Will Grant earned his Republic League Pitcher of the Month award. He left absolutely no room for doubt as he mowed his way through the opposition in August.

During the month Grant was 4-1 with a 1.87 ERA. He made 5 starts, tossed 43.1 innings and had 41 strikeouts.

In 26 starts this year Grant has posted 14 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 205.1 innings, allowed 155 hits, struck out 178 and has a 2.32 ERA.


Stahl Picked as August's Pitcher of the Month
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Peter Stahl will be bringing August's Continental League Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Tokyo. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping.

Stahl started 6 games, going 6-0 with 34 strikeouts in 47.2 innings as he compiled his 1.89 ERA.

This season Stahl has gone 11-8 with an ERA of 3.79, posting 96 strikeouts in 168.2 innings.

RL Presents Batter of Month Trophy to Salazar
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Dani Salazar of the Hammersmith Hooligans swung a mean bat for the last 30 days and was acclaimed the Republic League Batter of the Month for August.

The 27-year-old right fielder slapped out a .354 batting average, 9 home runs, 24 RBIs, 19 runs scored and a .421 on-base percentage.

Salazar has a .271 average and a .366 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 133 hits, 25 home runs and driven in 66 runs.


Continental League Announces August's Best Batter
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Today Ricardo Sánchez was voted Continental League Batter of the Month for September. During the month the 28-year-old Baltimore second baseman compiled a .376 batting average.

Most importantly for the Charm though, he also posted 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

Batting .344 to date, Sánchez has 17 home runs and 55 RBIs.

Tremblay Gets August's Rookie Trophy
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: Marc Tremblay earned Rookie of the Month honors in the Republic League for his exemplary performance in August.

The Colorado center fielder racked up 35 hits, clubbed 3 home runs, drove in 18 runs and tacked on 9 runs scored for good measure.

In this current campaign Tremblay is hitting at a .282 clip with 7 home runs and 61 RBIs.



Bueno Honored by Continental League
Sunday, September 1st, 2086: August was a month Tokyo left fielder Luis Miguel Bueno is not likely to forget very soon. Not only did he hit .253, he was also named the winner of the Continental League Rookie of the Month award.

He nailed down the honor with a .253 average, 24 hits, 1 home run, 14 RBIs and 7 runs scored during the month.

For the year Bueno is batting .279 with 6 home runs, 65 RBIs and 57 runs scored.
