Snow in Iowa City. Already over 7". The snow stops at game time. Then the winds pick up. And the temps in the 20s. B1G football at its best.

Iowa has a very good run game. So I expect a big win today.

Go Hawks!

Looking like GT is going to go 1 - 9 against P5 opponents with their only win being FSU. Weird.

I can't remember a team going from winning 11 games and a top 10 finish to this crapfest in one season. I'm sure its happened recently, but I can't remember it.

From looking at Iowa's schedule thus far I really think they get thumped by Ohio St but I would say no. If Ohio State loses to a team that has maybe 1 quality win this year(at Wisconsin???) the B1G should only get 1 team.

You should be docked 10 spots in any poll for playing a non-conference opponent, this late in the season, that isnt named Notre Dame

And you shouldn't be in the poll if you are not in a conference.

Oh, horseshit.

With oversized conferences, 47 different TV masters to cater to, games being played damned near 5 days a week for most of the season and all the other foolishness I'm surprised some teams ever figure out a schedule at all.

Everybody is entitled to have a homecoming game.

Nice to get a win today against Maryland. If we can take care of Purdue next week, we can go bowling for just the second time in a couple of decades.

Ole Miss is up by 17 against LSU.

I think LSU has just lost all confidence after their Alabama and Arkansas beating.

Yep, and fans of those teams in large number aren't bothered one bit by it, aside from the occasional trap game (like UGA-GA Southern could be tonight).

There will be more interest in this game in Athens than against any non-conference opponent other than Clemson & GT in quite a while (I recall the series with Colorado a few years back as an example off-hand).

That's going to be true for about 90% of the P5 teams outside the top 15 or so -- there isn't a single person in the state clamoring for a big UGA vs Washington State* matchup -- they really aren't more interesting than some random regional weak sister ... so why bother?

*not picking on them, just needed a random P5 team

Well of course they love these kind of games. But that is an odd response considering you just went off on how it's so hard to schedule so many games so they have to.

And you read my statement wrong, unless you believe that WSU and Georgia have suddenly joined the same conference.

Goes back to the thing about how many masters have to be served though. It's a lot easier to handle being all conference games in the back half of the season if you aren't playing some on week 1 or 2.

Georgia/Ga Southern and South Carolina/Citadel games today ... they played each other back in week 3, and that was the second conference game for both.

I'll just go with "blame the conference schedule makers, not the teams" (which, given my initial misread, may have been your intent all along)

Iowa wins 40-20 over a spunky Purdue. We are now 11-0. Amazing. No way I thought we would be the B1G west champs and 11-0. I had this as a 7-5 season. I am amazed.

I have an opportunity to go to the title game. I'm on the fence. Next weekend I'm driving 4 1/2 hours to my daughters BB tourney. Not sure if I can handle 2 long road trips anymore. Esp. The 2nd where lots of adult beverages will be involved.

I am very excited about thi season. And can't believe that our coaching staff pulled this season out. Just amazing.

Somebody wanna explain how Duke's season suddenly cratered? Did they lose a key player or a bunch of them or something?

Hypothetical but ... if Florida were to win the SEC C'ship game -- let's pretend the entire Bama team had food poisoning or something - can the committee overlook a game like today?

Me too. This is as big a surprise to me as anyone. This is KF 3.0. It is very hard for me to believe that this is happening. Maybe his son was allowed to take control of the team. I have no idea what happened.

Iowa always plays MSU tough. Always.
Now the next question, if Iowa loses to Nebby, and beats MSU in the title game, is the B1G out of the playoffs?

They barely beat SC, who can't even beat a mediocre 1AA team.

Barely beating SC is one thing ... barely beating Florida Atlantic has a much worse feel to it.

What a frustrating game from Ohio State's staff. I don't know if it was the offensive coordinators or Meyer that resorted to calling QB dive after QB dive but it was a horrible decision to try to beat MSU at their own game. MSU hung in tough after facing a ton of adversity and more than deserved the win today.

No, Iowa will let him ride it out now. His youngest son graduates from Iowa in 2 years. I imagine he retires and his son Brian, who is the run game coordinator/OL coach, gets the HC job.

So nobody at all even mentions that the ref blew the whistle before he realized it was a fumble on the Georgia Southern punt return. You got away with one there ref.

Absolutely the right call in the situation.

Better chance of UGA turning it over than of getting 6 yards there. And they'd need only one completion to have been in field goal range if they turn it over on downs.

Crazy game right now between AR and MS State, score at 50-44.

AR defense has sucked both halves but AR offense has shredded MS State in 2H.
