Nice combination by Cinci there... total mayhem on a running attempt and a terrible interception back to back... |

The over is looking real good at this point. Nati might get it by themselves.

Bigsmooth you have a pick in the late game? I sort of like Miami +200 on m/l.

Yeah, I have a couple bets riding on Miami. I have Miami +6.5 in one and need UNDER 53.5 in another. I feel like this will be a sloppy, grind it out type game with too much speed on each defense for either offense to contend with. Only way it goes OVER is if there are a bunch of turnovers, which is pretty likely actually.

I parlayed Miami on the $line with the under... not sure if a quick TD is good or bad...

Thanks to lynchjim. I was thinking of taking the money line on Cincy and decided to when he posted.

Took Miami +3 in the second half and getting my money back plus a little more on my under bet. Crazy game.

That was a great game. Luckily, I pulled out the bigger of my two bets with Miami covering the 6.5. I really need to follow Bill Simmons' advice and lay off on taking UNDER's. You never wanna watch a game and cheer for nothing to happen...not a good vibe and I rarely hit on them.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I had every intention of taking Miami and the under, instead I had Miami and the over. I'll chalk it up to the subconscious being stronger then the conscious.

You could have doubled up again on Miami +200. I love moneyline dogs. I think maybe I'll just bet them across the board in the NFL since I'm useless with the pointspreads. Last edited by lynchjm24 : 09-08-2009 at 06:44 AM. |

Yeah, I didn't do the moneyline, but I ended up grabbing them at +6.5 at the last minute. Overall for the weekend I was 6 of 7, I think, with my only miss being LSU at Washington. |

That's smart. So many underdog's have won outright in the NFL the last couple of seasons. What do you all think about Week 1 NFL lines? So far I really like the Seahawks (-8 or so) to cover against the Rams. Looks like Bulger is out and Boller will be starting. Qwest will be INSANE and the offense should be able to go up and down the field despite the Rams decent front 7. |

I'm a much bigger college fan then pro. Looking though I like Cincinnati and the over in the Giants game so far. Before that though I really like Georgia Tech on Thursday. Saturday I like UNC so far. Might like Notre Dame and potentially Western Michigan. |

Just saw that Cincinnati is only a 4 point favorite at home over the Broncos. That's even with the chance Orton will be out. Think I'm gonna pounce on that one. With Palmer back, I think the Bengals will surprise some people. Haven't looked at the college lines yet.

I blew my first pro bet with Pittsburgh last night too. I'm looking at a couple for this weekend. What do you think?
Eagles -2 Vikings -4 Edit: Oh, and I already took Cincy. I'm with the crowd here on that one. And then in college, I have no idea which way to go on that ND/Michigan game but might put some on USC against Ohio State, even though it's moved to 7 now. Don't know much about Toledo, but I have to think Colorado is better than they played last week, so I might go for a parlay on that and another game I know very little about, like North Carolina. Also, am I the only one that thinks the over on the Tennessee/UCLA game looks good? Last edited by Cuckoo : 09-11-2009 at 12:06 PM. |

I would be worried about taking the Eagles and Vikings both as road favorites.
Cinci looks like a good bet, especially considering the Orton situation. The USC game makes me nervous. Freshman QB, etc... Toledo got smoked last week but I could see them getting fired up for this game. Big 12 opponent, home game, national TV. I can see an upset here. They lost 52-31 last week so I would be inclined to take the over 54 here. If you really like Colorado maybe tease them to +3 over 47 As for UNC, again a road favorite makes me nervous. Randy Etsall (sp?) is a great coach and will have his team ready at home. Bodog hasn't put up an over/under for the UCLA game yet. |

Edsall. All sorts of problems at quarterback though. The starter Fraser is a ND transfer who was a big prospect out of PA but was just brutal last week against Ohio. He's thrown 9 INT's in 4 starts and the only time he really moved the offense at all last year was @ Rutgers and they still only managed to score 10 points. Of course I will be there and part of the point of my bet is to make me feel a little bit better if UConn loses. |

It seems funny but I like Duke in a pick'em at Army. Since I'm out early tomorrow I went:
Duke Pick'em Colorado -4 UNC -4 & -4.5 (got it early in the week and again today) WMU + 1.5 (got an extra hook there by waiting) ND - 3 |

Here's how I'm rolling tomorrow:
6-point teaser (3 team) UW -14.5 Like UW to roll here versus Idaho. Seems like a trap game, however that is not the case. If the Huskies lose they set a Division 1 record for consecutive losses. Sark will be out to prove a point. Idaho will NOT be able to contain Locker. Factor in the home crowd and the Huskies should cover the 3 TD's. Oregon -7 Nice bounce back game at home versus Purdue. I was impressed with the Ducks defense against Boise State, who will consistently put up 40 pts per game this season IMO. Blount is a big loss, however, the Ducks are not hurting for talent or athleticism. The Oline will decide this one and I think they will bring it. Southern Cal -1 Just read this: "The Trojans have won seven straight road openers -- six of them against big-six conference opponents. Average score: 43-12. The opponents: Colorado, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Hawaii, Arkansas, Nebraska, Virginia." Barkley has been prepared for games like this since he was 5. I heard OSU has been preparing for USC all offseason, which is why they struggled with Navy. That said, no way the Trojans blow them out again but they should still win it late. |
