And you have to wonder if that is part of what's behind the emerging sleeved bball jersey trend. (other than possible advertising space)

My own thoughts are that as every day wear, you probably need to give up the jersey when you head to high school.
I get the game day is different argument. And the around the house argument. And hot chicks can pull off pretty much anything any time they want. Also truth. |

I'm also willing to consider an argument that there is a donut hole and once you hit the other side of 40? 50? 60? (whatever the number) you might be able to pull the jersey off again.

Here's one of my pet peeves:
The Chiefs have never worn an alternate jersey, yet you see these black jerseys quite a bit. Gold jerseys with red numbers are also available, which is really funny because those are the jerseys quarterbacks were at practice to indicate you can't hit them. So if you're wearing a gold Chiefs jersey, you're admitting you're a pussy. |

A hot chick can wear a black Chiefs Larry Johnson jersey and I won't complain. Although a chick wearing a real team jersey is infinitely a hotter than a chick wearing a pink Peyton Manning jersey.

Speaking of that, I get upset when I see people walking around in obvious knockoff jerseys. I know some of the ones you buy for $35 or whatever can be decent, but most are horrendous.
When I go to NY Rangers games, I still see people wearing these jerseys: The actual Winter Classic jersey that year looked like this: Last edited by Logan : 09-10-2013 at 01:53 PM. |

Are we really bitching about fashion choices?
What's next, when it is acceptable to wear a bow tie?

Here in KC, most people wear their jerseys or team colors on Friday to work. We're a bit more like a college town. It's called Red Friday and nearly all workplaces allow it on Fridays before a home game.
Wear it on game day too obviously. |

Indianapolis was a lot like that, too. Seemed like they had Blue Fridays.

That just led me down the rabbit hole of looking at bow ties for a couple minutes.
Think I want to start wearing them... |

I look at Ernie Johnson with a tie-tie and then a bow-tie and that reminds me that bow ties go in and out of fashion for a reason.

I would only consider wearing my FC Utrecht jersey while attending a game (so far I went to just two soccer games and didn't wear the jersey, both were road games whilst I was sitting amidst home team fans), or if the team would reach some sort of final while watching on tv (and that hasn't happened in over 9 years).
Actually, I think the last time I wore my FC Utrecht jersey was nearly 8 years ago. It was the day after David Di Tommaso died.

As the owner of 4 Bengals jerseys I have to say if you have a problem with them, don't wear them. if you don't like how people look in them, look elsewhere.
Your opinion means exactly shyte. I wear my jerseys on sundays, I wear them to my sons football practices where I am an assistant coach. I wear them when I go out to hang with friends. What I wear, to be perfectly blunt here, is none of your fucking business. If I didn't mind feeling the breeze on my balls I'd wear thongs and nothing more. yeah get that image of my big fat white thighs and ass jiggling in a bright orange thong out of your heads now bitches. |

You just would have to check your area and field of business to see if there's already a "bow tie guy". There can be only one. Like, there's one Boise lawyer who already rocks the bow tie, so, I can't get in on that until he dies or one of us changes professions. |

I would agree this is also a pet peeve of mine. I see many imitation Bengals or Reds jerseys all the time, the ones you could grab at Wal Mart for 50 bucks. You're no longer representing the laundry, to me it says you're clueless |

In jersey related news, my buddy (who is from Boston) usually buys a new Pats jersey every year. Of course this year he bought a Hernandez jersey. A week or two after the big news broke, he sent me a picture of his jersey hanging out in his trash can.

I thought the Pats allowed fans to trade them in for other jerseys?
eta: unless he's no longer there and they didn't have any sort of mail-in contingency

i remember being in Boston a few years back. I wanted to buy a Doug Mirabelli jersey. He was a bit player, but I followed him up from when he was in the minors with the Giants. He is a favorite of mine among the players that have gone through the Fresno Grizzlies.
He had just been waived by the team in spring training, and the team store wouldn't sell jerseys for ex-players. I was bummed. I guess if I had been able to come by one, it would be okay to wear now that he's out of the game. |

I have some coworkers who wear them frequently, but it's not really my thing.
Solid chance I'm sporting a Manziel jersey for Halloween this year though. |

Football and Baseball jerseys CAN be fine. Soccer jerseys look ok (they are basically just polos anyways). Basketball jerseys are right out (as are wife beaters in public places).
However, bow ties should never be worn outside of formal settings - you just look like a douche otherwise (yes, I include the foppish Doctor Who).
