Poor coconut. I am contemplating starting some bazaar random threads on things like goat milking and plus size cheerleader porn just to see what coconuts take is on them.

Yeah, I was shocked to see that in Kentucky, Group 1C expands to include all kinds of classified Essential Workers, which somehow includes lawyers. So I jumped online this morning, first day appointments are open for 1C, and got one for Thursday and second dose 3 weeks later.

Courthouses bring in criminal defendants, and prisons and jails are super hotspots. So I think that everyone who has to go to a courthouse should be considered frontline. (And at that point, it might be easier to just say "all lawyers" rather than to try and fine grain who does and does not go to court regularly).

Agh, I just looked up here, and there is nothing through St.E available right now. No available appointments at all. I'll have to check back later.

Right, That's what I told my wife. Every licensed attorney is able to go to court, even if they aren't required to do so for their job and may never leave their desk.

69 year old Mom with COPD got her first shot last week, 2nd shot on St. Patrick's Day. Hopefully can avoid any bad side effects with the 2nd shot. Had no effects from Pfizer Shot 1.

I'm up tomorrow afternoon. Have to travel a bit to get it, but not too far.

NC also just announced that Phase 4 (medical conditions other than age) will begin later this month.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

The President said that there should be enough vaccine for every adult by the end of May. Which is great news!

Got it this afternoon. Eligible as a frontline worker in NC. Burned a bit going in--more like a tetanus shot than a flu shot.

Got some icecream afterwards just to make it feel like childhood again.

I got the Pfizer shot today. I don't feel a thing. I suppose it will be sore tomorrow.

I got Moderna on Wednesday. Felt a burn going in for sure. And my arm was sore yesterday. Not unbearable, but very noticeable.

Today is much better.

And I never got any other symptoms like body aches, etc.

Basically, a very typical first shot response from everything I have read.

Looks like next week I’ll be the only adult in my family not to have been vaccinated. My brother’s wife is in the police so qualified as an emergency responder, all our parents are over 70, and now my younger bro is getting jabbed because of his pesky heart problem (OK, I’m happy not to have had to have two heart ops)

I got my first dose of Moderna Wednesday. A local business had a portable clinic setup for front line workers. I approached and said that I wanted to be vaccinated, but didn't have an appointment. They asked no questions, and just directed me to a table to fill out paperwork. I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Ive since felt a bit guilty for crashing the party so to speak. I did get my shot, and that is a relief. I am in the high risk category, but here in CA my group won't come up for another week or two. My company has declared me a front line worker, but I've been in the office a dozen times in the past year so I can't really hang my hat on that.

As for side effects, I had a bit of pain in my arm when I lift it,and I was chilled with no fever the day after the shot.

So I have now made five different trips (Wed, Thursdays, Saturday and twice yesterday) to the local federal vaccination site to get family members and others their first dose. Each time the site made improvements to the process that made things easier for the consumers. I have spent no more than an hour at the site at a time. The cross sections of people I have seen getting the vaccine has been really encouraging. It was really apparent over the weekend as teachers of all ages were getting their vaccines. I have only seen two people require medical attention in the waiting area. One case was rather mild while the another required an IV hookup and an ambulance to be called. I really hope we can maintain this momentum.

Got the Pfizer shot yesterday. The start to finish time was 10 minutes in a drive through style. I had to stick around because I have some food allergies. By about 9pm, my body felt like it had been hit by a truck and I had a low grade fever. If some of you remember, I had a pretty bad case of COVID back in Dec and spent a night in the hospital. Clearly my body is not one of those that handles COVID very well. My wife had COVID with zero symptoms and has no symptoms after also getting the same shot yesterday. I am really dreading when I need to take the second shot.

CDC says fully vaccinated people can safely gather with others fully vaccinated people without masks or social distancing. Still want us to wear masks in large gatherings of not fully

I got my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine on Thursday. The entire process took 2 hours. I got an appointment at probably the largest site giving the vaccine in Kentucky (Alltech Arena at the Horse Park), but still, they gave too many appointments out for the number of people who were there. I had a 3:15 appointment, got there just before 3, got the shot at 4:30. Why even give me a time? National Guard was handling most of the car and foot traffic. At one point, they were wheeling around drinks and snacks for people waiting in line and I said, "This is the closest I've been to traveling on a plane in over a year!"

Aside from that, I'm happy to have gotten it. Barely felt any soreness in my arm and had a slight runny nose for a couple of days and that's it. Go back on the 25th for the 2nd shot. It looked like 2nd dosers were skipping the line after filling out some sort of questionnaire, so I don't expect another 2 hour wait.

Not accusing any of you guys of doing this, but seems like there is a lot of lying in my neck of the woods by people that want to jump the line.

"I want to see my parents" = "I'm a caregiver."

"My kid coughed last week" = "My kid has severe asthma"

Well, in KY they opened it up to 1C on March 1st which includes "other essential workers" and is basically the same list from early summer that the CDC issued for who could start opening up businesses. So, lawyers are on the list.

I will say, I had no idea what they needed as far as proof and was fortunate to have found my KY Bar Association card that I dug out of a drawer and brought that with me. When I got to the registration desk, I handed them my ID, insurance card and bar card and she looked at it weird and immediately handed it back. I said, "I wasn't sure what you wanted for proof that I am an attorney so I brought it." She said nothing and just copied the other 2 IDs. I'm pretty sure I could have just made the appointment and gone in with driver license and insurance and never been questioned once about whether I actually qualified under 1A, 1B or 1C.

Good that you could get one. There are none available within 50 miles of independence according to the two site providers in this area. None period.

Horse Park is right off of I-75 north of Lexington so it's not that bad a drive for you - maybe an hour. If you really want it, check their site periodically. I was able to get a Thursday appointment and 2nd dose appointment the day it opened up. Not sure what it looks like now.

Did you see that they are making BB&T Arena a covid site? I don't know if appointments are live yet but you might want to try to jump on it when available.

Kroger is rolling out locations in every one of their stores. They don't have supply right now, I could have gotten a short notice shot today on 30 min notice, but that's it. I imagine in a couple weeks it should be more widespread.

For those that have taken it already ... has there been any negative effects so far (beyond sore arm for a couple days)?

The first dose was nothing - sore arm, headache for about an hour due to not drinking enough water in the morning (and probably stress).

The second does kicks a bit and I've heard that from quite a few people (Moderna more than Pfizer but some with both). The day of the shot was fine - a little fatigue - but take that day after off. Couldn't sleep well that night until I took a Motrin in the middle of the night. Chills, low grade fever, muscle aches, and dizziness the next day. Took a Motrin before bed that night and back to normal the next day (well, except a little fatigue, probably from not getting much sleep the night before). My wife had an almost identical reaction. Older folks I've talked to have had that last an extra day and some will even get a little bit of a reaction to the first shot.

I work in food service prep. WI says I'll be eligible in April or May.

Good luck, fuckers. Better hope you don't order food from a place with an infected worker!

I get my 2nd Pfizer on the 24th. The first dose was merely a sore arm for a day.

Also Pfizer. Also first dose was just a sore arm for a day.

Second dose is the 26th - the day before Spring Break. Hope I don't have effects.

Got my first Moderna today. Lady checking me in tried to reverse fat shame me, saying I didn't look fat enough to be eligible. Can you tell that to my doctor's scale, because that's why I'm in line.

Got my Moderna shot at Publix.

I didn't even feel the jab go in. Had to look at the syringe to see it was empty. Also, I asked for right arm but they said no, left arm unless I had a medical reason. She said they wanted to do this consistently to collect data. Have no idea why left vs right would make a difference in their data but ... whatever.

I did ask the pharmacist why I was eligible as "parent of" but my child who has asthma is not yet eligible. She said daughter should be eligible now. Got home, read the website, and nope, she is not yet eligible.

Went to CFA to celebrate and got meal #1 with large diet lemonade (yum but not as good as regular).

Shoulder is sore now though.

BTW, when I got to Publix, no line in front and no line behind during the 15 min I was there. Pharmacist said she worked till 9pm. The pharmacist was good, gave me the speech, asked if I had any questions, jabbed and then asked me to hang around for 20 min or so. No complaints about her at all.

But Biden says this is a war. Only one data point that I've personally experienced, but it doesn't look as if the "last mile" is giving it much extra effort.

Interesting, as my m-in-law was given the same thing last month but in reverse (right arm preferred). And within seconds of them finishing, she questioned (to me )whether there was actually anything in the syringe at all, that's how small the dose apparently is.

Just interesting (to me) to have two things I remember from driving her to hers come up with someone here

Hah, share my story with her. My arm is sore now so I know there was a shot.

BTW, was there a line before or after?
