Iowa up 14 at Virginia, scoring 44 at the break.

Iowa is pretty darn good and Ke. Murray is a pro already

FSU was going to struggle with Purdue tonight, but it'll be even more difficult without 2 starters and a backup. One guy out due to a death in the family and 2 injuries. Yeesh.

Michigan basketball isn't very good this year so far, to put it mildly. I thought they were ranked too high initially, but I may not have been pessimistic enough. We'll see how much they grow as the season unfolds, but right now I don't think they're a shoo-in to even make the tournament and could well be a middle of the pack Big Ten team. They need to get better at just about everything and the youth is really showing.

B1G wins the B1G/ACC challenge for the 3rd year in a row. A few one point games and tOSU beating #1 Duke were the high lights

Nah. I learned after last year that Iowa will never go to the final 4 under FM. But we may have the Wooden POY for the 3rd year in a row.

We shall see what this team is made of after Friday night.

Great 3 days of Iowa sports ahead, Iowa Women play at Duke tonight, Iowa/Purdue Friday night and B1G championship game Saturday night

#20 (bwahahaha) Florida loses by 20 to previously winless Texas Southern.

Go ahead and put Mike White on the "coaching for his job" list TFN.

Tennessee forces overtime vs Texas Tech at MSG.

Fans booed the overtime, as they'd already endured a 44-44 regulation in a game where the teams combined to shoot 10/63 from 3p.

Who is worse, Mizzou who lost to UMKC and Liberty or Florida who lost to Texas Southern?

Gotta give that to Florida I think. Mizzou lost to teams that are at least 7-7 against everyone else. Texas Southern was winless prior to the Florida game.

Being #1 in college basketball just usually means you're the latest up to lose, and has only a passing correlation to tourney success. Good on Purdue for getting there, and losing happens.

Fairly pleased with how IU is playing this season, aside from the tons of turnovers.

Forfeits starting to rack up in the Big East and ACC, and I'm baffled that conference honchos went with this route when cancelled games -> less TV/ticket $$$.

Seeing Miami up 49-22 on UNC at half and a 13-4 record, I was wondering last week when I watched FSU narrowly beat them... how the hell did Miami all of a sudden get good? They've sucked for several years, sometimes barely able to field a team of scholarship players. Always thought the coach was good by figured he was done. Guess not!

FSU is a bit down this year but it seems like they are picking up a bit of steam lately. All new territory, almost like a UK "one and done" situation where we got 10 new players this year. Some bad losses and close calls early on, but 4 straight wins now. This is two years in a row FSU has had a 2 week pause for Covid in the middle of the season, and both times, they've used that 2 weeks to figure out how to fix their trouble spots

Got Miami again Saturday after a quick game on Thursday, and we see Duke again in a couple of weeks. Long way to go.

Not that Iowa deserved to win, BUT a phantom call with 2 seconds left outside the 3 point line on Rutgers best player sending him the the line for 2 and the win.

It was a bad call

Kentucky looked like hot garbage for most of the game against Texas A&M but still managed a win. Great atmosphere in College Station. I had completely forgotten Captain Sweat was coaching that team.

Such a poor game by both teams. It was like watching 2nd grade girls basketball.

If the Aggies were semi-decent in the first half, they'd have been up 20. On the other hand, I dont think i've ever seen a team go 1-21 from 3. So there's that.

Looks like Louisville and Chris Mack are about to part ways. One local reporter is saying Bruce Pearl wants the job badly.

Everything went downhill after Covid. The Gaudio scandal was bad for a school that can't stop the scandals. Then the AD who hired him left. Then the losing continued.

He would absolutely kill it there. It's just funny that they would fire Pitino because of his scandals and fall back to Pearl within 5 years. Pearl has been as dirty as it gets and hasn't exactly been shy about it.

I liked the Pitino era. I've been to "the restaurant" and it's always good for a laugh. At one point, the owner forbade servers from telling customers which table it was.

How long before a major school gives Pitino a shot again? One of the sports talk guys in KC suggested that he and UNLV would be a match made in heaven.

Texas at Texas Tech tonight. 8CT on the Deuce. You may want to tune in because literally anything can happen. Tech dunces have been building up this game for weeks/months. Beard returns to Lubbock. And the best viewing may not be on the court but the mo-rans in the stands. I can see anything from a Texas 20 point win to a full-scale brawl to the Tech fans burning down the arena. Oh those crazy Techsters!

In a classic Tech move, they oversold student tickets. Despite having a ticket, she was denied entry after waiting 4.5 hours. She's rooting for UT now.
