Peyton Manning over the past three seasons...

Prior to NFL HGH testing...
20 games, 555/817, 67.9%, 6770 yards, 12.2 ypc, 67 td, 13 int

Since HGH testing implemented...
20 games, 478/741, 64.5%' 5579 yards, 11.67 ypc, 36 td, 25 int

His career season at age 37 coming one year removed from neck surgery is starting to make a lot more sense. Especially knowing that Peyton had stem cell therapy and the recovery and healing process is more effective with HGH.

The fact that he's playing in his first new offense since he was a rookie probably has something to do with his struggles.

Twelve of those games were last season while eight came this season. Not sure the new offence has (nor should it have) that much of an impact on the player generally regarded as the best regular season quarterback ever.

13 of those interceptions are in the 8 games this season with the new offense. What do the numbers look like if you don't cherry pick a random drug test date?

Also, and this could be news to you....but the guy is 39 and came back from what was suspected to be a career ending injury. He's been playing on borrowed time since that injury. Don't let me get in the way of a good rant though.

The twelve games last season were games in which he played injured.

Do you really think a 39 year old QB isn't going to have trouble going from an up tempo, shotgun offense that he played in for 18 years to an under center power running offense?

He's looked much better the past 2 weeks and stated before the game last week he's just now starting to get comfortable with the offense and knowing where his receivers are supposed to be.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. Completely agree, coming from an injury at his age and then a new offense. He's looked much better. To think he's on HGH is ludicrous.

Look's like the Bronco's D has been taking tips from Ndamukong Suh:

Watch Craig Stout's Vine "Von Miller putting his knee on the throat of a downed opponent."

and that's in addition to Talib's eyepoke.

He's a great football player, but he's pure douchebag otherwise. Thankfully, I can keep the two separated and just appreciate his skillz on the field of play.

But yeah, going for the career ending injury eye-poke deserves some recognition from the league office.

He should have been ejected. He won't be, but he should be suspended as well. Miller can join him.

I love this team, but I don't tolerate or make excuses when I see things I hate. They deserved to lose that game yesterday and after their actions on the field, I'm glad they did.

The refs in the Eagles/Cowboys game last night were comical. I think they blew 4 calls on the last Cowboys drive alone, including a critical illegal formation penalty which would have taken the play that put the Cowboys in field goal range taken away. On the Eagles final play, the WR was clearly held far worse than anything that happened to Bryant and no flags were dropped. That was, really, really poor work.

Talib suspended 1 game and is appealing.

I've already said I wished he'd get two games. I hope he loses the appeal (I doubt he will)

I just don't understand hwo PacMan can rip a helmet off of someone and pound their head into it without a suspension, but this draws one.

What a freaking league.

By the way Talib, you say it's an accident? BS. Stop lying through your teeth.

Got to give Rex Ryan credit for extraordinary trolling expertise. IK Enemkpali is going to be a team captain against the Jets.

The act must wear thin after a while, but I'm sure the Bills love it right now.

Talib? I've never seen a more harmful self-destructive penalty. If that didn't wake him up, nothing will. One game, ten games, a hundred... it doesn't matter.

Did he also perfectly time his HGH cycles so it still affected him weeks 1-4 last year, but he was clean by week 5 for testing? And did he just have residual affects for weeks 5-12 when he still looked elite? Sometimes 38/39 year olds are just old.

PS I'm also surprised Tom Brady hasn't been linked to HGH or steroids yet (I think one Boston talk radio guy tried to, but couldn't even get the usual thin-skinned callers to bite.)

Good. I have no idea why stadiums have concrete tracks close to the playing surface, or even worse the ones that have walls that close - one of the SEC schools, I think Georgia's Sanfprd Stadium, has a brick wall like 3 feet from the corner of the end zone I've nearly seen WR's end up headfirst in after a pass.

Looks like ESPN is using the JAX on-field arrow for down and distance, judging by the colors. They must have sold the SD one to raise a little extra cash.

It's a huge improvement over a QB that last played 65 years ago.

So I'm barely following the Steelers this year but it appears that we are starting a former Army Ranger at LT and he's a mountain of a man 6'9", 340lbs. 3 tours of duty in Afghanistan. Once he was able to consistently eat and weight train, he went up from 270#

One more thought... Isn't a 6'9" Ranger a pretty big liability on the battlefield? There's so much of him that can get hit by enemy fire. I'd suspect shorter guys make much better soldiers.

Probably not ideal...but it doesn't really matter. In the day and age of marksmen (since about 100 years ago) any exposure is bad exposure...

Remember Dallas Cowboys stand-out, Chad Hennings? He was an A-10 pilot and quite larger than the ideal pilot...but he did just fine as well.

Chad Hennings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Or to relate it even better....Mugsy Bogues didn't show the ideal NBA player characteristics, but found his niche and excelled.

Villanueva shut down Cinci's pass rush pretty well in the game I saw. He was a camp body in Cinci before he went off to fulfill his duty in the military, they said good things about him then. I feel like that kind of height can be a liability against shorter pass rushers, but from what I've seen he has a bright future.

Yeah, too bad. I don't think it affects us too much - Bolden, maybe James White will just take over the passing back role. Maybe we re-sign Travaris Cadet if he's still an FA. And if we really wanted to twist that knife vs the Steelers, they just released Dri Archer, who I'm pretty sure could fill the same role.

Talib should have a multi-game suspension. Heck, I'd be okay with him missing the rest of the season. You can't just poke someone in the eye.

Suspensions are stupid. All this does is show how important he is to the team while he rests and the team suffers. They should make these dudes play but forfeit their paycheck to the disabled NFL players fund.

Watching Luck this season is like watching one of those old-school boxing movies.

We identify with him - nice kid from a tough area, finds he has a talent for boxing. He moves his way up the ranks, taking a terrific punishment for 14 rounds (somehow in these movies, even amateurs fight for 15 rounds), then delivering the last-second knockout. Mr. Miyagi and a random blonde invariably help them back to their apartments, where they cling to life only to rise for a new bout, against doctor's orders, a few days later.

Poor Luck. But he definitely exemplifies the importance of having a good (and healthy) quarterback in the NFL.

Not to mention a decent offensive line and a supporting running game.

He serves the punishment for not being able to control himself on the field. The fact that team is also punished as a result puts pressure on him to control himself in the future.

There are a lot of guys out there that have no problem writing a check to cover whatever stupid mistake they did, but every NFL player has the competitive desire to be out there playing each week (Wasn't it Deion that asked the league how much much to write the check for for his celebrations?). If you really want to send a message you make them sit.

Taking away playing time and punishing the group for 1 person's actions is a standard way of sending a message across all team sports at every level.

Suspension upheld. I am elated and shocked.

Four things:

1) I hope this means that any future player who beats the hell out of a women does not a get a reduced suspension.

2) I hope Talib doesn't go to court over this nonsense. He'd have a case. Simply show the Adam Jones incident from earlier in the year and point out the NFL is inconsistent. (Hey, I saw one guy take off a helmet and slam the other guys head into it, why would I think a simple eye gouge would get me suspended?)I really don't want to cheer for a player who is dirty or who cheats and then lies through his teeth about it. Actually getting away with it because of the past inconsistencies of the league office is/would be disgraceful.

3) I hope this sets the tone for the future. Jones should have been suspended and there are other incidents that deserve it as well. Time for the league to actually take action on this stuff.

4) I wish the suspension would have been for at least two games and NOT reduced. Talib is a jack ass. He deserves it. Period. Any Broncos fan who denies that fact is delusional.

Wow, shocked he got real jail time. Don't commit a crime in Maricopa County, because you're not going to jail for more than a weekend for a DUI with a .17 BAC pretty much anywhere else. Good for them.
