Congratulations! My wife and I went through a similar situation with our oldest -- he's about to turn 19. Other than a proclivity for ear infections which meant tubes in his ears at a slightly-younger-than-normal age, there were no complications.

Leah has surpassed the one month old mark already. Time has flown by and there continues to be nearly nothing but good news for Leah. There's been some pictures updated on the site in the last few days but for those that are curious she is up to 2 lbs 13 oz now. She's almost gained a full pound in one month. She's on a normal path as far as growth goes and she is way ahead of the ball game as far as health goes.
She's a tough one! |

Last week I was telling my wife that Leah would be coming home in a few weeks and she said to me if a few weeks means a month then yeah you're right. I told her again yesterday she was going to come home soon. Yeah right she tells me.
Stacy(wife) goes into the NICU this morning and hears first hand from one of the nurses say that they wouldn't be surprised if she goes home next week. My wife has been in shocked panic-mode all day. I had no inside info from the nurses or anything so it shocked me to see my wife react this way. She's scared, excited, and upset all in one. She even told me that I was being insensitive by saying that we would be just fine if she came home next week. Whatever. All's I gots to say is HELLLLL YEAHH baby Leah! You go girl. Now I don't know for sure if it will be next week or not but two more nurses and therapist said the same thing to me when i was there this afternoon...they wouldn't be shocked if shes out next week. Saturday she would be 35 weeks gestational. Next Saturday would put her at the same term as our first came home, 36 weeks..and he came home right away.
