Nice to see IU defense make some plays tonight. I hope they can do it against stiffer competition.

Yea, Wake doesn't have a good offense, but the defense is underrated.

The look like knockoff pajamas you would have bought in 1975.
Furman winning the LOS battle on offense vs Michigan State. I really worry about that team this year. I think the era of Wisconsin/Michigan State being in that upper tier of Big 10 Teams is closing. |

FURMAN down 13-21 to MSU with 13 minutes left. All gravy from here on out for the rest of the game.

Man I wish the Paladins could have shocked the world. I'm doing a lot of work at Furman these days. Love that campus.

The rest of Michigan State's OOC is Notre Dame and BYU. They're not exactly taking it easy.

CU fan here. . . they quietly made some very big improvements last year. The defense played better. They played better on the road. They lost a ton of close games. I went to the CU game in the Rose Bowl against UCLA and CU was the better team for most of the game. They had some backbreaking plays that killed them (like a 96 yard INT return for a TD against), but they took it to UCLA for a lot of that game and outgained them 550+ to 400 total yards. So what's that mean for this year? Who the hell knows. Their defense is going to be above average this year. The QB can be wildly inaccurate and I don't trust our offense to move the ball at all. To get to a bowl, we'll have to sweep the home quartet of Oregon St., Arizona St, Washington St. and Utah and then knock off someone in an upset. I think it's highly unlikely. With that said, I do expect continued improvement. I think they'll be in most games until the fourth quarter this year. It wouldn't shock me at all if they knock off someone they aren't supposed to. (Maybe UCLA at home? USC or Oregon on the road?) At least they'll be competitive. After the recent history, I can't complain about that at all. |

Colorado tends to play UCLA well but for as badly as UCLA has played vs Colorado, they still end up winning the game and none of the games I've ever thought Colorado was going to win the game. A strong part of that is Colorado is a bad team and bad teams tend to close out good teams poorly.
I dont think a bowl game is realistic as I dont see you guys winning more than 2 games at home. I really like MacIntyre though and think he had a pretty bad team after Colorado made a terrible hire in bringing in Embree |

I don't understand the hurry up, quick snap, hand off, run right up the gut. It's a play call that seems very counter intuitive to everything you've done leading up to it. I assume it works when you're Oregon or Baylor playing the Buffalo Tech, but it almost never goes for shit when the two teams are somewhat evenly matched.

Well both UT and GT open the season 1-0.
That's ... something I guess. Feels like another long year ahead frankly.

Kind of a no-brainer though, expecting the largest crowd in the history of college football (and by about 20% too)

I know their defense is great, but BC's play calling on that 2nd to last drive was hideously predictable and showed no faith in a QB who played a damn good game.

Are we watching the same game or are you basing that off of a bad pass/good read by the BG defense on the INT return? That was ONE bad play but sloppy...no. It is against BG, but JT looks good, OSU looks extremely fast and being that all BG is going to really do is throw the ball, that first quarter was pretty smooth, albeit, maybe the longest 1st quarter ever Last edited by hollmt : 09-03-2016 at 01:02 PM. |

The INT, the penalties. They're doing what they should and winning the skill position battles handily, but a lot of mental errors so far. |

Already down 21-0, ULL goes for it on 4th and 1 from their own 38 and fails. I guess they had nothing to lose anyway.

I'm not ragging on them, just a lot of penalties early was all I'm saying. They're doing exactly what they should be doing given the opposition.

Didn't like going for it there. It's only a 2 score game. Kick the FG.

Yeah, I expect the penalties and nerves. 16 new starters for OSU this year too. They had no receiver that had even caught a TD pass until today and Weber is a redshirt FR RB. The only real proven thing on offense is JT and he is looking great and making good passes (minus the INT ). I am though impressed with the team speed, the defensive pass coverage, when you know all that BG will do is pass the ball and the bounce back after the INT mistake. I would like to see a bit more pressure on the BG QB though. No sacks and not much pressure on him does concern me a bit. |

I also think the game might never end. Seriously, 9 -10 minutes left after 80 minutes of play...

Oklahoma-Houston has been a lot of fun so far. If Greg Ward Jr. had a better deep ball in him, they'd be running away with this.

And he costs them what may be their best chance to put points on the board by throwing it 20 miles from anyone.

Weber and Samuel look like a good back combo for the Buckeyes. I guess this is not the game that will tell us anything though.

I've been watching WV/Miz for the past 5 minutes and thought WV was Miz and vice versa because of the bizarre uniforms schemes.

They do both look good however, even with the yards for Weber, the fact that if his feet gets touched he goes down is a bit concerning for me too, being that he has been so far touted as a strong and fast back. I don't want my RB's to fall over if their feet get touched. I might be nitpicking a little though. |

no way Clemson-Auburn is over before 12:30... Im dreading it. This will be the first opening game I havent attended since 1996. Would have been 20 in a row. But wasnt sure the kid would be up to the travel, having surgery this week. And of course I had to get him off the exercise bike an hour ago...should have gone. |

Ooooofa. Hawaii running a 4th and 1, from the shotgun, handing it off 6 yards deep. So, so, so, so, so....
