This is why Abed is the greatest character ever. He's the narrator within the story (which is fairly unique).

I stopped watching about halfway through due to the fact that my DVR was packed on Thursday's... just caught up on the rest of the season. The Goodfellas/Chicken Nuggets episode was freaking brilliant, but the Paintball episode ranks up there with the best single half hour of TV I've seen in years. The racism episode of Better Off Ted and the Slap Bet from How I Met Your Mother are the only things I can think of in recent memory that are on the same level that I've seen.
Love this show! Also thanks Blade for the tip |

This and Modern Family are without a doubt the two best comedies on TV right now. For a show with so many cheap jokes, it's hard to make the argument that it's too smart for TV. But that's the only thing that explains the ratings. This show is hysterical. |

I can at least understand why Archer doesn't have a wider fanbase... why Community doesn't I'll never know. I just hope it survives the cut when NBC (presumably) drops the comedy block back to 2 hours next fall.

Another great community episode this week. Everything with LeVar Burton and Troy was amazing.
I read an interesting review of this episode: Review: Community - Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking: Pierce the puppet-master - HitFix.com To sum it up: Quote:
Pierce really has gone from a simple disparaging antagonist to a really mean hateful guy. Its made for some great performances and really hilarious moments in the last couple episodes, but it seems like a bad thing for the cast long term unless Pierce settles down via some sort of resolution of the whole painkiller thing pretty soon. |

The Levar Burton references kept getting better and better, topping with "Well...more fish for Kunta." And Troy staring back with the look of Geordie LaForge with his visor off was incredible.
We can only hope the writers know where they are going with Pierce. Dan Ackroyd in a guest shot (since the real Belushi brother is long dead) would work wonders.

I didn't watch lost so no comment there, but I am extremely skeptical about a sequal to the paintball episode. That episode was a masterpiece. Revisiting it in any way should simply not be done IMO. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but the chances of them living up to the standards set in that episode has to be nearly 0. |

Very enjoyable episode. Not at all what I expected when I saw the pulp fiction previews, but it was really good. |

Once again, pure genius. If you don't think this show is the funniest thing on TV, I'm not sure your opinion of humor can be trusted. It simply works on too many levels.
It seems like there has been another program that did a clip show with all new clips, but this was truly imaginative. Love the new scenes from past episodes, especially the scenes from the Christmas episode. The "shipper" videos of Jeff/Annie and Abed/Pierce were pure gold. Love Abed's fascination of The Cape throughout the scenes of the episode. Britta: There's rioting in Tunisia! Abed: But The Cape is premiering. Britta: Humanity is premiering, you jags! The "clip show" was brilliant. Best comedy on TV right now, I think. The occasional miss of an episode, but that happens when you're trying something different.

completely agree. I don't mind the misses much b/c they miss by taking wild creative shots at doing something completely different, and when they hit its funnier than anything out there, and the average episode in between is awesome. I just caught up on the who's the boss episode and the clip show episode last night, I loved both, loved the pierce/abed music montage thingy, loved Chang and the monkey, loved all the clips that never happened, just great stuff. |

I'm all for the Modern Warfare sequel ... I'm not worried about it not living up to last year's episode. Looks and sounds like it has great potential.
Regardless, I'm tuning in to see Annie in that outfit. Holy crap indeed. |
