One of the nice things about shaving my head to support my chemo undergoing Dad is that I don't have to spend money on getting the crap cut.
But now I'm sad cause the girlfriend is making me grow it back...

I haven't cut my hair since school has been out. I have gone from a very short buzz, to like.. 1 and a half inches of hair. It's borderline ridiculous.

I'm planning on getting my sides trimmed tomorrow. With my hair growing back from baldness I'm starting to look like a dandelion puffball...

You see, Fritz knows how this is supposed to be done. Getting a cut at a old barbershop with all the trimmings, nothing like it. Hell, I guarantee I pay nearly double what I'd pay at a Supercuts or whatever they call themselves these days, to go to a true barbershop. For those that haven't tried it, you ought to sometime.

I think it's a lost art. There was a barbershop run by first and second generation Italians in my home town. Nothing like getting your fringe cut with shaving cream and a real razor sharpened on the strop. Then reeking of rum aftershave all day. |

welp i cut my hair from the last time i posted, shaved as usual about 2 weeks into college, haven't cut it since. it's all the same length, probably 3 inches which is actually quite long, as everyone comments my hair is getting long since no one has seen me with hair this long, maybe since i was in 6th grade with a bowl cut.

I do use bay rum aftershave, however.

The Small Island of Dominica. Columbus discovered it, named it, and left it alone. It’s north of Martinique. And it is the home, since 1907, of a very good West Indian Bay Rum manufactured under the Dominica brand-name.
Bay Rum has a fairly quiet scent, less strong than anything called perfume, less strong than anything called aftershave, but not so quiet as to be boring. It is, in fact, quite sexy. It is sexy the way skin begins to smell from strong sun, salt water, steel drums, breaking waves, moving palm branches and giggling coming from somewhere. Men liked Bay Rum long before 1907, when the Dominica brand started. Men have liked Bay Rum since Spanish Main days. They like it for the least complicated reason in the world: it smells good. |

First time I've been to a barber in 5 years, my hair was getting shaggy. He did a good job for what I asked for, but I still don't like it. I will probably shave it.

Another haircut. This time it is shit. I'm so mad, I just shaved my head.
It was crappy cause the guy that did me well a month ago was available too but the other guy told me to sit and I didn't want to be rude. Haircut day today sucks! |

On a related note, I have a dilemma like Shorty's. My regular hairdresser is good, and I like how she cuts my hair.
However, her daughter is training to be a hairdresser too, and is super hot. She did my hair once when her mom was on vacation, and it wasn't so good. But she's hot. |

Perhaps you can solve this dilemma by having both mother and daughter do you at the same time.

I hated the time lost waiting at the barber shop waiting my turn so i bought a cutting machine and scissors when i was 18 and have been cutting it myself until now that i'm 30. I'm pretty skilled after 12 years and i don't even need a mirror

Bah to Haircut day!
Trying to get myself somewhat decent looking for next week's formal and the lady today decides to completely buzz up my hair. Leaving a fraction of what was there before. Damn bitch.

Ugh. I tend to avoid haircuts for a week longer than I have to. Hate the forced conversations that happen yet feel like I need to respond to them to entertain the person with the sharp implement in their hand.

Yeah, haircuts might be a good indicator for social anxiety. I certainly don't enjoy or look forward to them, because I can't get past the fact that this stranger is deep into my personal space, repeatedly touching my head and face, and asking me a bunch of personal questions.
Plus there's the fact that seemingly nobody takes appointments for haircuts in this town anymore, because of course it's way cooler to wait in line a half-hour for a haircut, and everybody loves to do that.

I just close my eyes when I'm getting a haircut to stop the talking. Works ~50% of the time. I'm looking into implementing this strategy for all social settings.

greatclips checkin app.
Be the douche. Check in a solid hour early when you show up you are top of the list. Then make up BS to tell the chick cutting your hair. Last time one asked me what I did I told them I worked for a company that made the tint for the space shuttle windows. Ive claimed to be the guy that hauls off the deal flowers from lowes. Nope nothing else. Just the dead flowers. I look for ways to entertain myself. Or just pretend to sign at them and act deaf. |
