Local news is reporting Chris Henry just failed a drug test which violates his probation.

Authorities say they are now going to push for Henry to have to serve the 88 days jail time he was given probation for.

If there was a fantasy league for criminal athletes, it would be hard to draft the superstar team that the Bengals have compiled seemingly without trying.

We're in the midst of something special, people. This is Tiger Woods "once in a lifetime" stuff!

Suspended Bengals receiver Chris Henry failed a court-ordered drug test and will have to serve 88 days in jail.

Kenton County (Kentucky) Attorney Garry Edmondson said that Henry tested positive for opiates and he will be forced to serve jail time.

Henry's failed drug test was first reported by WKRC-TV in Cincinnati.

Henry is on probation in Florida. It's unclear whether the reported drug test results will force him to serve jail time there.

The Bengals told ESPN's Bob Holtzman that they expect to release a statement regarding Henry later Monday.

Henry, who has been arrested four times since December 2005, has been suspended for the first eight games of next season for violating the NFL's conduct policies. He spent two days in jail last January after pleading guilty to letting minors drink alcohol in a hotel room he had rented.

Henry received traffic tickets on March 25 for driving with a suspended license, failing to use his turn signal and a seat belt violation. He was allowed to go into a license intervention program to settle the charges.

Henry is permitted to work out at the Bengals' facilities in the offseason and participate in training camp, including preseason games. He won't be allowed to practice with the team when the regular season begins. He will be reinstated after the eighth game if he stays out of trouble.

"I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote Henry when he suspended him. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort."

Didn't see this happening....

The woman who claimed Bengals linebacker A.J. Nicholson assaulted her told reporters at his arraignment Monday that Nicholson never hit her.

"I'm embarrassed to tell you that I was extremely emotional when I contacted police and that caused me to exaggerate what had taken place between A.J. and myself," Victoria Johnson said, according to WLWT-TV in Cincinnati.
Johnson said she was trying to grab a cell phone away from Nicholson and accidently struck herself below her eye.

Ah, so since Marvin Lewis can't seem to stop the arrests, he decided to just go Godfather on people post incidents.

She probably has big eyes, the kind that are hard to not accidentally hit.

Now that he's been released over this, she better be extra careful not to hit herself again tonight.

Yeah, NFL Live just reported the same, the tests apparently came back negative and the prosecutor involved seems to have jumped the gun. For all the stupidity and ignorance of the players involved in a lot of these cases, I wonder if sometimes things are blown way out of proportion by the others involved with the same situations.

It almost seems like its gone from being something unfortunate that happens to being a witch hunt.

Odell Thurman Accused Of Assault
Posted By: Brian Duerring

Reported by: 9 News Reporter Deb Haas

Former Bengal Odell Thurman is being accused of assault in the state of Georgia.

The magistrate's office in Jasper County, Georgia confirms to 9 News that a couple of men filed complaints against Thurman and his brother following a weekend party.

The accusers told police Thurman and his brother punched them at a party during an argument and later returned with guns drawn.

No one was shot but the accusers claim they were assaulted.

They did not call police until the following morning. A judge will hold what's called a pre-warrant hearing on Friday to determine whether an arrest warrant should be issued for Thurman and his brother.

Thurman was suspended last season for violating the league's substance abuse policy, following a drunk driving arrest.

He could apply for reinstatement into the NFL this summer.

A Bengals spokesperson says since he is no longer on their roster they have no comment on the incident.

For those that aren't quite sure, the answer is "yes, that's where Odell is from and where JiMGA lived until last August".

And, for those who've been keeping score, how many times have I said that the only chance for Odell to stay out of trouble was to stay the hell away from his hometown? Other than seeing his first child, there's not one other good thing about his going back there, too easy for him to get into trouble there.

Charges Dropped

Making an effort for fair and balanced coverage.

Quote:
MONTICELLO, Ga. (AP) -- Two Georgia men who accused suspended Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman of kicking and hitting them at a party have abruptly dropped their complaint, a court official said Friday.

Chrissy Pitts, deputy clerk of the Jasper County, Ga., Magistrate Court, said papers seeking to dismiss the case were being filed by the complainants. She said she did not know what prompted their decision not to move forward with their accusations.

"It was settled," Pitts said. "We aren't aware of any terms that were involved in the settlement. That was between the attorneys and the parties. They just filed the dismissal with us."

A hearing on the accusations against Thurman had been set for Friday, but was canceled because of the dismissal of the case.

Thurman had not been charged with a crime, but a magistrate had been expected to hear testimony to determine if charges should be filed.

The NFL suspended Thurman for the first four games of 2006 after he skipped a drug test. The suspension was extended to a full season following his arrest on a drunken driving charge in September. Thurman is one of nine Cincinnati players to be arrested in the past year.

Two men filed a complaint Sunday with police in Monticello, 60 miles southeast of Atlanta, accusing Thurman of assaulting them early Sunday following an argument at a home. The men accused Thurman's brother, Willie Thurman, of threatening them with a gun.

Odell Thurman, a Monticello native, played two seasons at Georgia and was drafted by Cincinnati in the second round of the 2005 draft. He led the Bengals in tackles that season with 148.

Thurman can apply for reinstatement for this coming season, although earlier this year coach Marvin Lewis refused to talk about whether Thurman still figured in the team's plans.

Actually, I'd wager that the color red (as in blood) could have had as much to do with this as the color green.

That possibility after someone more familiar with some of the peripheral parties to the situation suggested to me that the odds were about even on charges being filed versus the alleged victims being rendered unable to testify were about even.

Of course, that's just speculation, but I should make it clear that the concerns for their safety were not related to any suspicion of Odell, but rather of those who associate (or might try to ingratiate) themselves with him.

FWIW.

Bengals' wide-receiver Chris Henry is accused of breaking the law again.

9News has learned that Florence police interviewed Henry, along with Bengal Reggie McNeal on Tuesday.

The two football pros may have been involved in assaulting a 16-year-old boy.

The family of the victim shared their story exclusively with 9News Tuesday night.

They talked off-camera because they say they're not ready to publicly show their faces.

But they are angry, alleging that Bengals players Chris Henry, along with a few others, beat the 16-year-old so severely that he had to be treated at the hospital for his injuries.

"It's very obvious," said Captain Linny Cloyd, of the Florence police department. "I've seen the young man. There's no doubt he was assaulted. At this point we're still trying to figure out who is who – where they were."

Police say the 16-year-old and an 18-year-old friend were walking along Wetherington Boulevard near Mt. Zion Road just after 11 p.m. Friday night when, they say a black Navigator or Escalade pulled up next to them.

According to the police report, a white male jumped out and started punching the 16-year-old in the face.

"From that, the victim tells us another gentleman got out of the vehicle the same vehicle and in their attempt to get away, was shoved to the ground by this African American gentleman," said Cloyd.

The teen identified that man as Bengals receiver Chris Henry, and says receiver Reggie McNeill was also in the vehicle.

The teen also alleges that they were throwing beer bottles at him as he tried to run away.

"Go away, we don't want to talk to you."

9News tried to talk to Chris Henry Tuesday night, but no one at his house wanted to talk to us.

Henry lives just a few blocks away from where police say the assault happened.

The victim's family tells 9News that the teen knows Henry and knows his vehicle because he lives in the neighborhood and was friends with Henry's younger brother.

Police questioned Henry Tuesday afternoon and are taking this allegation very seriously.

"We have been in contact with Mr. Henry and Mr. McNeal as to their whereabouts," said Capt. Cloyd. "They deny being in the area, or knowing this gentleman."

Police say they are still following leads and their investigation is on-going.

As for Chris Henry, he's been arrested four times in the past year-and-a-half for marijuana and gun charges, drunk driving and providing alcohol to female minors.

His run-ins with the law got him an eight-game, unpaid suspension this upcoming season.

If these allegation are true, this could spell the end of Chris Henry's career.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said that Henry would be banished for life if there were any more mis-steps.

Chris Henry Is Just Making Up Offenses Now

chrishenryagain.jpgOK. Are you sitting down? We feel like you should be sitting down. It's probably for the best if you're sitting down. Take a deep breath. Have a brandy. You ready? Cool. Here goes.

We're not sure how to say this, so we're just gonna come right out with it: Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is in trouble again. Fortunately, this one's no big deal: Just the random, unsolicited beating of a 16-year-old boy.

"From that, the victim tells us another gentleman got out of the vehicle the same vehicle and in their attempt to get away, was shoved to the ground by this African American gentleman."

The teen identified that man as Bengals receiver Chris Henry, and says receiver Reggie McNeill was also in the vehicle. The teen also alleges that they were throwing beer bottles at him as he tried to run away. "Go away, we don't want to talk to you."

Henry, of course, is already serving an eight-game suspension for, you know, his other four arrests. We're not sure where "throwing beer bottles at a minor" falls on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell offense chart ... but it has to be around the "depantsing nuns" level. We wouldn't hold your breath to see Chris Henry playing football again anytime soon.

Former Falcons draftee arrested
Quincy Wilson is 10th Bengal arrested in 14 months

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published on: 06/18/07

Huntington, W.Va. — Running back Quincy Wilson, a former Atlanta Falcons draft choice, was charged with disorderly conduct for failing to disperse after a weekend wedding party, making him the 10th Cincinnati Bengals player arrested in the past 14 months.

The former West Virginia star was with a wedding party celebrating outside a downtown bar around 3 a.m. Sunday when he and 13 others refused a police request to leave, assistant prosecuting attorney Lora Maynard said Monday.

Some were charged with disorderly conduct, others with obstructing justice and underage drinking, police Lt. Hank Dial said.

The running back was booked at a jail and released Sunday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in Huntington Municipal Court on July 19.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said it was inappropriate for the team to comment on Wilson's arrest because the matter is unresolved.

Dial said police wanted to disperse the crowd because some shots had been fired about 30 minutes earlier a block from the bar. None of those arrested with Wilson were thought to be connected to the shooting, Dial said.

Wilson is the 10th Bengals player arrested in the past 14 months, a streak of misconduct that drew the attention of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, resulted in three suspensions and made Cincinnati an example of players gone bad.

Wilson is the third former West Virginia player in the NFL to get into trouble in recent years. Wilson was the Mountaineers' leading rusher his final season.

Atlanta drafted the running back in the seventh round in 2004. The Bengals signed him off the Falcons' practice squad later that year, and he spent the next year on Cincinnati's practice squad.

Wilson got into three games last season, carrying two times for 2 yards in an Oct. 1 loss to New England. He was waived on Oct. 19 and signed back onto the practice squad.

Wilson, who lives in Weirton, was a teammate of receiver Chris Henry, a Bengals player who has been arrested four times. Goodell suspended Henry for two games last season for misconduct, and has suspended him for the first eight games of the 2007 season for his most recent convictions.

Another former West Virginia player, Titans cornerback Pacman Jones, has been suspended for the entire 2007 season. Jones was being sought by police as a witness in a shooting early Monday involving members of his entourage after a fight at an Atlanta strip club.

Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman was suspended last season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He has yet to be reinstated.

Last month, linebacker A.J. Nicholson was arrested on a domestic violence charge in northern Kentucky, across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. The Bengals released him three days later.

Middle linebacker Odell Thurman has been denied reinstatement by the NFL and the Cincinnati Bengals' one-time starter will have his suspension continued at least through the 2007 campaign.

That means Thurman will miss a second straight season, putting his career in jeopardy.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who met recently with Thurman, made the decision. The Bengals, who anticipated that Thurman would be cleared to return, made the announcement of Goodell's ruling on Thursday morning in a news release.

Thurman will be able to apply again for reinstatement after this season.

One of Thurman's representatives, Saf Lawson, had said repeatedly that his client was in compliance with the conditions of his one-year suspension, and that he expected to be back with the Bengals. Neither Thurman nor Lawson could be reached on Thursday morning for comment.

Thurman filed his reinstatement paperwork nearly a month ago, so that it would be in the NFL offices well in advance of July 12, which marked the one-year mark of his suspension.

Thurman, a Bengals' starter in 2005 when he led them in tackles as a rookie, was initially suspended for four games when he missed a scheduled drug screening. The sanction was subsequently increased to a year after Thurman was arrested on DUI charges Sept. 25.

Earlier this spring, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis indicated that Thurman would be welcomed back to the team, and would be able compete for a roster spot in training camp, if the league reinstated him.

"I have been in contact with Odell and he has an opportunity to be reinstated," Lewis said in mid-May, while appearing on a local radio show. "He will have had to ... (follow) the very strict NFL guidelines to get to that point and then, obviously, if reinstated, to go forward. And if that happens, he'll have an opportunity (to return)."

Lewis later backed away from that sentiment a bit and has not discussed Thurman's status in detail since then.

Last month, two men in Thurman's hometown of Monticello, Ga., filed complaints against Thurman, alleging that he hit and kicked them at a party. On the day the complaints were to be heard by a local magistrate, they were withdrawn. It is not known how that incident might have affected Goodell's decision to deny reinstatement.

Despite missing much of his rookie training camp because of a protracted contract impasse, the 24-year-old Thurman appeared in 15 games in 2005, all as a starter, and registered 148 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, nine passes defensed and four forced fumbles. The former University of Georgia star, a second-round draft pick in 2005, was a candidate for defensive rookie of the year honors.

Thurman turns to U.S.

With no word from the NFL or the NFL Players Association, the attorney for Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman has filed a claim of disability discrimination against the NFL. John Michels said Thursday that he has notified the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that he feels his client is being discriminated against because he is perceived as an alcoholic.

Michels said it doesn't matter that Thurman acknowledged in court that he is an alcoholic when he appeared for a DUI stemming from a Sept. 25, 2006 traffic stop. He indicated that Thurman has passed all required programs stipulated by the league.

"He has not had an alcoholic problem since the incident last fall," Michels said.

The NFLPA has not yet responded to Thurman's request to appeal to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's July 26 decision to extend Thurman's year-long suspension for another year. Michels said if the EEOC finds for Thurman, the commission can offer such remedies as reinstatement and back pay.

Michels cited a recent precedent. The EEOC ruled in favor of Roy Tarpley, the former Dalllas Mavericks forward banned in 1995 for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The commission said the NBA violated the Americans with Disabilities Act when it didn't reinstate Tarpley even though he had passed all drug tests taken in the last four years.

Michels said the Bengals are named in the claim only because they are Thurman's direct employers. He said the claim was not a Bengals decision and that the commission is aware that the suspension came from the NFL and not the club.

CINCINNATI -- Receiver Chris Henry was allegedly involved in an altercation with a parking attendant on the eve of rejoining the Cincinnati Bengals from his eight-game suspension.

Henry practiced with the Bengals on Wednesday and will be eligible to play Sunday in Baltimore. Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him for the first half of the season for repeatedly violating the NFL's conduct policy.

The third-year receiver stayed out of trouble during the suspension and was allowed to practice with the team for the last two weeks. He sat out a 33-21 loss in Buffalo on Sunday that dropped his last-place team to 2-6.

On Tuesday night, police in Newport, Ky., a suburb on the other side of the Ohio River within view of Paul Brown Stadium, were called to an entertainment district following a dispute over a parking fee.

A parking attendant told police that Henry and another man parked their sport utility vehicle without paying. According to an incident report, the attendant said Henry argued loudly with him and said, "Don't you know who I am?"

The attendant told police that Henry threw a $5 bill on the ground, but it was returned to him and police were called.

No charges have been filed. Police told 35-year-old Jason Baker of Bellevue, Ky., that he could file a complaint with prosecutors if he wanted to pursue the matter. Baker didn't return a phone message on Wednesday.

The Bengals were aware of the report but had no comment, noting that no charges had been filed.

"Don't you know who I am?"

Classic.

I hope I am there when something like this happens so I can laugh at said "star". Man I would have had a ton of fun with Corso in a bank line.

Bengals WR surrenders to police after hitting man, 18

Posted: Thursday April 3, 2008 12:27AM; Updated: Thursday April 3, 2008 10:20AM

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is in trouble again, accused by an 18-year-old man who told police that Henry hit him in the face and broke his car window with a beer bottle.

Henry, 24, was charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal damaging in the Monday incident in Cincinnati. A warrant for his arrest was issued Wednesday, and Henry surrendered, a police spokesman said.

Henry was being held in the Hamilton County jail pending a court appearance Thursday.

Henry has had a string of problems with police. He most recently was in court last week after being ticketed for driving with expired Kentucky license plates. He paid $149 in fines and court costs, according to the Hamilton County Municipal Court records.

Henry, arrested four times during a 14-month span, was suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for the first half of last season for repeatedly violating the league's conduct policy.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said the team is aware of the charges but declined comment.

The player's agent, Marvin Frazier, said Henry gave him a different version of events but declined to elaborate.

"I was told it didn't happen that way," Frazier said.

Court records don't indicate that Henry has hired an attorney in the new case.

According to a statement filed with Hamilton County authorities, Henry was identified by Gregory Meyer, whose hometown was not listed, and an eyewitness. The eyewitness claimed Henry punched Meyer, causing "visible injury." Henry then threw a beer bottle at Meyer's car, breaking the rear passenger window, according to the affidavit.

After his prior arrest, Henry pleaded guilty to letting minors drink alcohol in a hotel room he had rented. He served two days in a northern Kentucky jail.

The Bengals issued a statement expressing frustration with Henry when he was in traffic court a year ago for driving with a suspended license.

Following his NFL suspension, Henry caught 21 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns.

Two things...

Chad Johnson - as crazy as he sounded last night - has to be smiling from ear to ear right now.

And one thing I hadn't realized before now...this moron and Pacman Jones played at WVU together. Wow.

Here's the exerpt. Sad to say I have to agree with this decision.

According to a release from the Bengals, they have released WR Chris Henry.
Mike Brown issued this statement:
"Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated," Brown said in the statement. "The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the stame time we tried to help a young man. But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team."
