January 12th at Wyoming 75, #20 Utah 56 at Rhode Island 72, #21 Temple 71 at #16 St Joseph's 82, St Bonaventure 66 at #7 Oklahoma State 76, Auburn 64 at Georgia 84, #25 Ohio State 81 January 14th Georgia State (9-7, 3-3) at Campbell(12-6, 4-4) A very big home game here for us. Georgia State Freshman SG Collin Keys is going to be a monster in this league. He's averaging 13 points a game as a freshman and has 'B' potential in all scoring areas. Scary. He's even better on the defensive end. PG Williams for Ga State is the only other guy in double figures, we're going to double team Keys and see if we can't rattle the freshman. STARTERS: C Jarred Brown PF Timothy Hampton SF Duane Medford SG Neal Janakowski PG George Singh 19:24 1st - We commit our 3rd team foul. Yes, 3 in 35 seconds. Hampton, Medford, Janakowski. 19:11 1st - George Singh goes out with an injury. He's at 80% and isnt' going to be coming back today. 17:53 1st - a 3 pointer by Hinojosa and a steal and breakaway layup from Janakowski has the game moving finally. 5-0 Campbell. 15:56 1st - Hinojosa has 2 fouls. Medford and Janakowski will split time a PG the rest of the half and that certainly weakens us. 15:03 1st - Ben Simmons commits a foul, argues it and gets T'd up. I'm not going to update the top 25 stuff every day anymore, I would love to see a print button on the national schedule so I can just cut and paste it, because I like keeping in touch with the national scene.
On January 17th we did see one blockbuster contest and two huge upsets. #1 Kansas beats #6 Oklahoma in Norman, 76-66. Charlotte upsets #5 Cincinnati 90-79. Vandy pulls the shocker over #4 Kentucky at home, 89-66. that ends the week starting on Monday the 12th of January. Here's the updated standings and Top 25s. Code:

Campbell(12-8, 4-6) at Florida Atlantic(7-9, 3-5) Our first matchup of the year vs Fla Atlantic. The star of the team is Michael Sanchez, the PG, averaging 15 ppg, 3.3 boards, and 3.9 assists. We'll be playing without George Singh. 17:15 1st - Medford goes out with an injury, broken nose and he's at 75%. 2-2. 14:49 1st - First TV timeout hits. We're not looking good, 2-7 from the field so far, and we trail 8-4. 12:16 1st - wholesale subs for us, we're shooting 2-12 from the field now, and trail 11-4. 8:58 1st - shooting 21%, down 18-8. 2:35 1st - We trail 26-17 after the final media timeout. We make some defensive strategy changes, switching to man to man from our zone, and hope it'll help some. We get above 30% for the half, but there are some amazing numbers here. 7 blocked shots for Florida Atlantic. 54% shooting for them, 30.6% for us. Look at the rebounding numbers in the box score. Alabama pulls a huge upset and Kentucky has lost two in a row. 73-63 Tide.
#12 Indiana wins a big Big 10 showdown at #13 Purdue, 65-59. #16 Souther Cal beats #5 Stanford, 65-44. January 24th Campbell (12-9, 4-7) at Mercer(7-11, 3-6) We're going to Mercer. They beat us 54-51 earlier in the season. In that game Steven Rigsby put 14 up on us, their power forward. We're going to let Medford play despite being day to day and 90% with an injury. 15:14 1st - this is looking ugly so far. We're down 3-0 after 5 minutes. 12:54 1st - We get on the board, it takes over 7 minutes. 6-2 Mercer. 12:00 1st - Richard conlon is out for 8 days with a broken finger. This has become a very frustrating team to watch. We finally get some shots to fall, and, go on a 6-0 run to end the first half. We are shooting an infuriating 42% from the line, we should be winning now fi it weren't for the missed FTs. Mercer 27, Campbell 23 - Halftime 18:10 2nd - A technical foul on Mercer! Hinojosa takes advantage of it from the FT line, but we can't make it a 4 point play, turning the ball over... 33-30 Mercer. Mercer has 6 fouls to our zero in the half. 16:41 2nd - We're in the bonus. Janakowski blows the front end of the 1-and-1. 35-30 Mercer. 10:47 2nd - After going up by 12, we're on an 8-0 run and we're still in the game. Need to be drawing some fouls and going to the line though. 42-38 Mercer. 9:42 2nd - There goes the season. Neal Janakowski is out for 3 weeks with a broken cheekbone. Well we had it down to 4 points with 4 minutes to go, and we just collapsed. A very frustrating game to watch because I really think we're the better team. The injuries hurt badly though. We've only got 1 game coming up this week.
Two big conference games today on Wednesday: #15 Virginia wins at home over #19 NC State 83-69. #6 Oklahoma State also gets a big home win, over #8 Oklahoma, in a blowout, 98-64. Thursday is a Pac-10 showdown between the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the conference... #10 Stanford takes one at home from #4 Arizona, 75-57. January 31st Troy State (15-4, 8-3) at Campbell (12-10, 4-8) Medford is back, Singh is up to 90% and day to day, meaning he's in. Janakowski is out though. 17:42 1st - We've gotten off to a solid start, Troy State has started of with 5 quick fouls, and we have a 6-2 lead. 11:24 1st - It's evend up a bit, and we are as usual, struggling from the field. Troy State leads 13-10 as we're shooting 33% from the field, 40% from the line. Yeah, that's enough of that. Auto-sim. We're into February now, and it's time to try to land us a recruit so we at leasthave something to look forward to next year.
We have landed our first recruit! James Blouin, a PG from Ft Thomas, KY, has committed to play for our school next season. Blouin could be a good one for us. He's got a good jumper already, with B potential, his hands are pretty good, but he's not going to be a very good passer. He's an average defender. This is the type of guy we're going to have to land, he excels at one thing(jump shots) and isn't too terrible everywhere else. He'll probably play more SG than PG with Singh around to distribute the ball. Code:
I have my other 3 scholarships that are available offered out, and I pay visits to those guys to try to land them. I can get a decent recruiting class yet. |

Well, we have 5 games left in the year, and we don't play Central Florida again, so we've got to scratch out a win somehwere else. Here's the biggest win yet! We beat Stetson at their place earlier in the year, and we just did it again at home! They're one of the top teams in the conference and we have swept them. This was a very exciting back and forth game that I lost the writeup to. Oh well. 90 points may be a record. Code:

I am really into this game too, and I think once I have some recruits of my own I am going to get seriously immersed in this one. Campbell looks to be a major project, they're the worst in the conference in almost every regard. February 7th Jacksonville State(10-12, 5-7) at Campbell(13-11, 5-9)[/b] This is another team we beat earlier in the year, 65-63 on the road. It was another game where Janakowski was a monster for us, with 20 points. They were lead by Joshua Wagstaff's 20 points, but they had points everywhere, John Long had 16 and Merida had 14... we'll try to just play tough D all around. Janakowski is day to day, at 77%. I'm not going to let him play much like that though. 15:49 1st - Each of our starters has exactly 1 foul. It's 6-4 Jacksonville State at the first TV timeout. I bring in wholesale subs, including Janakowski at SG. The backups play great basketball giving me a slim lead and eating up some time, I don't want my starters all with 2 fouls here... 9:29 1st - The starters return, and it's 17-16 Campbell. 3:37 1st - We're holding on to a lead, we've had chances to really break it open but haven't... I'm happy with our play though. 29-24 campbell. We're hanging on still, despite not scoring in the final four minutes. Campbell 29, Jacksonville State 26, HALFTIME Long and Wagstaff are killing us. Long, their center, has 9 points/8 boards. PG Wagstaff has 10 points, 4 boards. That is basically their entire offense. We're making them work for it though, and they are, as a team, shooting only 38%. 16:54 2nd - Singh has 4 fuols now, and Jacksonville State is scoring again, we trail 34-31. 14:52 2nd - Hinojosa blows a layup on a 3-on-2 break, can't have that. It's 36-35 Jacksonville State at the TV timeout. 12:19 2nd - We run off 4 quick points and lead again, 39-36. Jacksonville State burns a timeout. Hampton and Singh have 4 fouls for us. 8:51 2nd - Our defense has turned it up a notch, Jacksonville State only has 1 point in the last 6 minutes and we lead 45-36. 3:58 2nd - We've got 4 more minutes, and an 8 point lead to hang on to. It could have been more, Singh just missed the front end of a 1-and-1. 49-41 Camels. 3:35 2nd - Jacksvoneill State scores, and I burn a timeout to set my lineup for the stretch run. Basically that just means getting Hinojosa on the floor to shoot free throws. 49-43 Camels. 2:21 2nd - two big buckets and a stop, and we've almost iced this one. 53-43 Camels. That'll do it! Campbell 53 Jacksonville State 45 A huge win for us. Jarred Brown gets a double double with exactly 10 points and 10 rebounds. Richard conlon has 10 points, 9 boards. We got 10 steals to their 3 and that is really the difference in the game. Code:

We have 3 games this week to finish our regular season. at Georgia State, vs Florida Atlantic, and at Samford. One win clinches a winning record for us, which would be enough for me to consider this a very successful season overall. It would take a miracle for Central Florida to overtake anyone and get out of last. We actually have a shot at a decent middle of the road finish in the Atlantic Sun. ARRR, why did I not save? Because I was cleaning house in between games and didn't think about it, that's why.
Game crashed on me. I didn't even notice the error, whoops. I was tryign to print the big 12 standings at the time. I'm back to February first, apparently, recruiting was run differently this time around too, and I don't have my recruit! I have to head out for the night and I just auto-sim back to where I was: Feb 4th: Stetson 79 - Campbell 73 Feb 7th: Campbell 82 - Jacksonville State 59 Oh ok, we only lost a week. The recruit thing was strange, but oh well. I'm an idiot for not saving more myself. It's time for poker night, so I will try to finish out the season tomorrow. |

I found the problem with printing the Big 12 standings and it is fixed. It should work fine on all of the other conferences. Just don't print the Big 12 again until the latest patch is posted.

Cool, I hate the big 12 anyway.
February 9th Campbell(13-11, 5-10) at Georgia State(10-13, 4-9) We lost by 9 at home earlier in the year. Hm, that sucks. Hinojosa and Hampton both hurt themselves in my 2 re-simmed games. 13:49 1st - a very slow start. 6-4 Ga State. 10:29 1st - at the second TV timeout, we're hanging on to a slim lead, 11-9. 3:11 1st - We're hanging on still, 25-21, but we also have a huge edge in free throw attempts, but we're putting up a horrid 40% from the line, so only a 4 point lead is frustrating. A Duane MEdford 3 pointer helps us extend the lead slightly... Campbell 32, Georgia State 32 - HALFTIME No one is standing out in any huge way. Singh has 8 points, but he is 4-10 from the line so far, so I'm pretty unhappy with him. 15:31 2nd - It's only 36-35 Campbell at the first TV timeout of the 2nd half. Jarred Brown is up to 8 points now. 13:02 2nd - Duane Medford comes in and ignites a nice 8-0 run for the camels. 44-35 Campbell. 11:16 2nd - We're on a 14-2 run now since the 15:30 mark... 50-37 Campbell. 7:04 2nd - Janakowski commits a foul, argues and gets T'd up... he's gone(that was fouls 4 and 5). 56-47 Camels. 1:55 2nd - Ga State has made it a close one, after being down as much as 13... 60-55 Campbell. 1:41 2nd - Jarred Brown misses the front end of a 1-and-1. 60-55 Campbell.. 1:07 2nd - After a Ga State miss, Richard Conlon only makes 1 of 2 from the line. 61-55 Camels. Ga State cut it to 4 but we didn't let it get any closer than that. Campbell 64 Georgia State 59 Duane Medford backed up George Singh at the point, and actually was on the floor for the last 5 minutes because Singh has so much troulbe from the FT line.Medford put up 15 points, Brown 13 and 5 boards. Something strange happened with the recruiting when I crashed. It just didn't process.. the exact same things I reported at the beginning of February, actually happened in the beginning of March.

It's April 1st, and we've got some good news!
Theodore McClinton, a PG from Prince George, VA, has committed to play for our school next season Dana Moody, a SG from Raleigh, NC, has ciommitted to play for our school next season. We've got one more scholarship and we better land a big man. This is great though. Moody has a great jumpshot already, he is a god passer and decent at handling the ball. His defense suffers though. McClinton is an ok shooter, he has some good potential as a passer. With all the guards I've recruited McClinton will likely redshirt next year and we'll hear from him in two years. Code:

Our recruiting class is ranked #227 in the country. Kentucky is #1.
Our Recruiting Coordinator has taken a job with Florida State. We've got to hire a new one. Our scout, and our assistant, all gone! Sheesh. We go $8,000 over budget hiring staff, that's going to hurt us isn't it. Whoops. Recruiting Coordinator: Darryl Deweese, age 33, Recruiting 38 Lead Scout: Jonathan McLellan - Age 49, 35 scouting Assistant: Keith Runyon - 62 offense, 44 defense. We have 6 available games to schedule, 4 can be at home. We schedule a few teams so bad they are hopefully going to be considered cupcakes even to the Fighting Camels. Our schedule is full and I'll print it as soon as possible. First though, let me go over the roster, see who improved, and see where I stand compared to last year. |

I'm going to wait until training camp is run before I do the all out roster review.
We are losing Janakowski this year, but we have a lot of guys in the backcourt. Really I *must* sign a PF and a SF this year, and I have a 3rd scholarship that I'd like to get a quality Center with, but I coudl go for a SG as well. There are two guys that jump out at me right away. A 2 star SF with "very high" interest, and a 3 star SF with "high" interest. There are 5 other guys with "high" interest who are two star recruits. Well, we're not getting a 3 star guy, but this is shaping up to be a very quick, very easy recruiting season We have a huge lead on 3 2 star guys. In fact, two of them commit in November: Kenneth Roseberry, a PF from Melbourne, FL, has committed to play for our school next season. Antony Bailes, a SF from McBee, SC, has committed to play for our school next season. Roseberry, unfortunately, is a defensive specialist, but at this level, we have to take what we can get. Code:

I redshirted 3 guys last year. That was a mistake, this year I'm going to only sit out two guys. Theo McClinton and James Blouin, both Freshmen PG's. That leaves me 5 guards to rotate around the PG/SG positions for the season.

My best recruit was James Blouin, he has a jumper already at 68, he could be a serious sharpshooter for me for four years, and I am redshirting him this year. He could be a 3 point shooter with a 60+ rating soon too. |

STARTERS: C Chris Winkle PF Tim Hampton SF Dana Moody SG Neal Janakowski PG George Singh We use a balanced attack, and Janakowski is our sole go-to guy. 19:17 1st - Dana Moody feeds Chris Winkle for the first bucket of the season. 2-0 Campbell 16:38 1st - Albany calls a timeout after we go on a quick 6-0 run. 8-2 Camels. 13:53 1st - 3 freshmen on the court in Rupert Rounds, Louis, and Sales, after the first TV timeout. 12-7 Camels. 9:05 1st - Elisha Louie dunks the ball, then taunts his opponent... he gets T'd up, and quickly removed from the lineup. 22-17 Campbell after a 4 point play for Albany. 2:03 1st - HJampton gets called for a Technical for arguing a foul call... come on and settle down, guys. A second 4 point play makes it 32-31 Campbell... we could be blowing these guys out. Campbell 36, Albany 32 HALFTIME We're looking pretty good. 6 points from Janakowski, Moody, and Reinhold each, 8 from Hampton. 14:24 2nd - We're hanging on but barely, it's 46-43 Camels. Our defense sucks, they're shooting 56% on us, luckily we have a 20-13 rebounding edge. 10:41 2nd - Albany takes its first lead, 48-46. Janakowski is having an awful game, 2-11 from the floor. 5:53 2nd - We've pulled back ahead by 2. Newcomers Rupert Rounds(8 poitns) and Dana Moody(10 points) have been huge today. 50-48 Campbell. 3:38 2nd - Ben Simmons gets a huge 3 point play, 55-52 Camels. George Singh has 6 assists on a solid day so far. We tried to choke this one away, missing free throw after free throw in the last 3 minutes, but Albany just couldn't hit a bucket to threaten us. The rest of the half is basically back and forth, and we go into the locker room with a 4 point lead. Loyola Maryland(0-1) at Campbell(1-1) Loyola MD is one of the worst 10 teams in the country in terms of RPI, both last year and this so far. Not really any piont in highlighting anything from this one. Janakowski has a huge first half, 18 points including a 4 point play. Janakowski ends up with a career day, and the final margin of 16 is about the closest that we saw in the entire second half. Campbell 76 Loyola Maryland 60 Chris Winkle is showing himself as a force inside, 8 pionts/12 boards is great from him. Janakowski is the story though, 12-24 from the field, 9-11 from the line, 5 boards, and 35 points, a new school record. Code:

This shouldn't come as a suprise, but, 6 of the 10 top individual scoring performances are by Janakowski so far in my career... of course I'm barely into my second season. That was the first 30 point game by a fighting camel yet.
Winkle's 12 rebounds also sets a new school record. Lets go beat up some more cupcakes! I hate it when Georgetown does this, and when I'm a contender I will create much tougher schedules, but until I start pulling in some better recruits, I want the cupcakes on the schedule. Campbell(2-1) at Prairie View A&M (0-2) Prairie View is RPI rank 267. They have a pretty solid power foward, a 70 inside rating, averaging 10 ppg. Since their only scoring threat is an inside guy, I'm running a 2-3 to try to force them to shoot a lot of outside jumpers. Janakowski picks up his 2nd foul at the 17 minute mark, so we've got to do it with Hampton/Moody/Rounds. 13:00 1st - We are shooting horribly, and the 2-3 doesn't seem to help, we switch to man to man and doubleteam Foster, their PF scorer. but right now our 22% field goal shooting is all that matters. 13-6 Prairie View 4:00 1st - We've heated up big time and lead 27-26, we're shooting50% from the field. Each team has some foul trouble. We've got Singh, Janakowski, and Rounds with 2 fouls each. We could be leading easily but we missed some 1-and-1s, we're shooting 66% from the line, and we're being HEAVILY outrebounded, 22-14 at the half. That hurts a lot. Prairie View A&M 34, Campbell 30 - HALFTMIE Rounds and backup PG Elisha Louie keep us in the game without our stars, 7 points from Rounds and 6 from Louie. 15:15 2nd - A&M goes on a big run to start the second half and takes a 44-34 lead, our reserves come back in. 14:59 2nd - Elisha Louie hits a bit 3 pointer, 44-37 A&M. 13:57 2nd - Conlon gets a steal and a bucket, Sales a blocked shot, Rounds hits a jumper, and it's 44-41 A&M. PG George Singh has been suspended due to poor academic performance. His eligibility will be evaluated again at the end of the month
That's real bad news. Singh has finally started to move the ball around for me and was putting up a consitant 6 assists a game. I'm leaning towards starting Janakowski at PG. December 1st, 2004 Samford(2-1) at Campbell(2-2) We open the conference season early. Samford is the best offense in the league so far, scoring over 70 ppg. They beat Florida State last week. Our worry is Andrew Estes, Senior PF. Estes averaged 18 points last year, and has 23.3 ppg so far this season, he's getting 9 rebounds a game also. He's shooting over 60% from the floor so far. SG Dana Moody has a passing and handling rating of over 40 each. He becomes my starting PG. 17:57 1st - Samford star Andrew Estes has fouled Janakowski on two straight plays, could we get him in very serious foul trouble and use that to our advantage? He's staying in with 2 fouls. 7-5 Campbell. 14:06 1st - Wholesale subs on the first TV timeout. Janakowski has 7 points to lead all scorers. Estes has 4 for Samford. 13-7 Camels. 13:58 1st - We score again and Samford uses a timeout to try to keep this game from getting away from them. 15-7 CAmels. 8:11 1st - we're in the bonus, and have only committed 2 fouls ourselves, a very good position to be in here. Conlon hits 2 free throws and we lead 19-13. It stays about the same the rest oft he first half. Campbell 29, Samford 25 - HALFTIME We're shooting much better than Samford, 46% to 30%, and we're outrebounding them 23-19. We've got 2 problems though, one is that we have 10 turnovers to only 3 from Samford. The other is that Samford has an inordinate number of offensive rebounds and putbacks... we should be ahead by a lot more. Janakowski has 11 points to lead all scorers. Tim Hampton has 6 boards, and Winkle has 5. 2nd 19:15 - yup, a putback off a missed shot by Samford... 29-27 Camels. 2nd 15:27 - Samford is on a 9-0 run to take a 36-31 lead... 2nd 14:57 - Rupert Rounds drains a huge 3 pointer to make it 36-34 Samford. 2nd 5:18 - Samford broke a lead open of 7 points and we have just fought to get it back down to 2... 59-57 Samford Janakowski is 4-15 from the field and is killing us. 2nd 4:48 - Janakowki gets a rebound and no one else touches the ball, he takes it down court, penetrates and hits a layup. 59-59, that was huge. 2nd 3:42 - a 3 pointer gives smaford a 62-59 lead. Campbell (2-3, 0-1) at Mercer(2-3, 1-0) Mercer has a 7 foot PF Rigsby who averages 15 ppg, he is our biggest worry. I'm making a change today. I have no go-to guy. Janakowski is streaky. I don't want to live and die by his hot streaks. I'm going to just try to run a balanced offense, whoever gets the best shot, takes it. 7:15 1st - Mercer jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead and we've been slowly cutting into the lead. We just tied i tup for the first time, 20-20. Both teams are turning it over a lot(9 for us, 7 for Mercer), and both teams are shooting over 50%. Wow, we had it tied at 30, and Mercer ran off 11 straight to end the first half and we are rather screwed. Halftime - Mercer 41, Campbell 30 I quick sim the second half when it becomes clear we have no chance. Mercer 70 Campbell 57 It's going to be a long season. We need Singh, badly. Code:

Mercer(3-4, 2-0) at Campbell(2-4, 0-2) We just lost to these guys in a bad way, and I'm changing to an inside focus today, and letting Janakowski be my go to guy. Elisha Louie, a natural PG, is starting, and I'm coming out in a 2-3 zone... lots of changes today. 12:23 1st - It's a slow start here, 10 total turnovers and a limited number of shots... Janakowski has 2 fouls. 8-7 Mercer. 5:35 1st - Hampton just picked up 3 fouls in about 45 seconds. A 3 from Mercer makes it 17-13 Mercer. 0:29 1st - I brought janakowski back in to try to end this cold spell. He quickly picked up foul #3. I finally break the dry spell with a bucket from Jack Reinhold with under a half minute to go in the half. 21-15 Mercer. Mercer sinks a 3 at the end of the quarter. Mercer 24, Campbell 15 - HALFTIME It's just ugly. We're shooting 29%, they're shooting 30%. Without George Singh, we can't keep the ball.. 12 turnovers to 5 at the half. Our defense just sucks. By the way, I was looking more into Marmel's dynasty, and I have been tempted to speed this up to get some history, but really, I enjoy the play by play and coaching the games just as much as antyhing, so I'm keeping it at my slow pace.
The other thing I was looking at was conference movement. I am going to do it manually, but it can't be totally subjective. I want conference movement to be rare and monumental. Currently, the idea I'm thinking of starting with, is that to jump to a new conference, a team must win the regular season title in its conference 4 seasons in a row. Any time that happens, the team will jump up to a conference with a conference prestige one higher than the current... I'll try to find a good team that "deserves" the demotion, and keep it regional. That part will be subjective. I'll keep an eye on who wins 2 in a row and 3 in a row in the next two seasons. I want it to be rare, but not impossible to jump conferences. |

Campbell(2-5) at Western Carolina(2-3) Western Carolina is not a good shooting team outside the paint. They have two monsters inside, Alexander and Stanley, their C and PF. If we can stop them we can win. 16:10 1st - We're off to a great start, an 8-2 lead, their center Stanley has 2 fouls. 11:56 1st - W. Carolina went on quite a run to tie it up. We're doing ok with the subs in though. 16-16. It was 24-24 with about 6 minutes left and we just collapsed... Western Carolina 36, Campbell 28 - HALFTIME We're turnint it over more and shooting a bit worse. 14:47 2nd - After falling down quickly 42-28, we've gone on an 8-0 run and are still alive, it's 42-36 W Carolina. by the 10 minute mark we were back down 11 again... just can't limit these damn turnovers, and got outrebounded on the offensive end 10-5. Our focus is on Brooks Herbst, Junior SF, averaging 15.6 ppg. 13:26 1st - it's 6-5 Florida Atlantic, they're only shooting 25%, so we'd better hope they don't pick it up. We've turned it over 4 times to their 1 already. 7:55 1st - it's still 6-5! We're shooting 28% from the field, and are 1-8 fromthe free throw line. That's right, 7 missed FTs. Fl. Atlantic is shooting 17%. 4:50 1st - We've hit two shots in a row!! It's 11-10 Camels. 1:40 1st - Dana Moody goes down with an injury. He's the only other guy on the team besides Louis that can play PG... well, that wasn't on academic suspension. Moody is going to miss 9 days. Florida Atlantic 20, Campbell 16 - HALFTIME An enthralling game between two powerhouses. We're 6-13 from the line... 18:05 2nd - A quick 4-0 start to the 2nd half ties it up, 20-20. Hampton has 6 points/7 boards. 17:58 2nd - Janakowski gets a steal in the backcourt and a layup! 22-20 Camels. 12:04 2nd - Rupert Rounds hits a 3 to put us ahead by 5 points! If we can hold up at PG we might be able to win this. 11:10 2nd - Janakowski drains 2 free throws, and we're up 35-28. 8:19 2nd - Hampton and Janakowski are driving this team ahead, it's 42-30 Camels. Coastal Carolina(2-6) at Campbell(3-6) Moody is at 89% so I'm not sure how much action he's going to see today. Elisha Louie has a lot of stamina, so I may see if I can't get 35 minutes out of him today. PF John Crandall is a moderate inside threat for Coastal Carolina, and their PG has very good ballhandling skills. We look to be the better team though. 10:16 1st - It's 16-16, we had a 6 point lead but gave it up when Janakowski had to sit down for a rest. 5:56 1st - Chris Winkle commits a foul, and then a technical, and Coastal Carolina hits 4 straight free throws, putting us down 22-20. We had a chance to score 3 or 4 times in a row in the last 3 minutes, but went dry and just ended up falling down by 5. Campbell(3-7, 1-3) at Troy State(7-4, 3-1) Troy state doesn't have any one guy that stands out, but they look a lot better than I do everywhere. 16:32 1st - Conlon has 4, Winkle has 3 boards, we've only turned it over 1 time so far, and it's 7-0 Camels. Troy State burns a timeout. 15:49 1st - Richard Conlon commits a foul, Taylor for Troy state hits the shot, and Conlon gets a technical for arguing... that's a potential 5 point play. Luckily they only get 4. 9-4 Camels. 12:12 1st - It's only 13-12 Camels as we sub in the 2nd stringers. 10:13 1st - Rupert Rounds is injured, he's out for 9 days. 17-14 Camels. 5:34 1st - We're coming up with some big plays here, and hey, we're shooting 67% today so far. Janakowski has 2 fouls though and is sitting down. 26-20 Camels. We really felt like we should have gone way ahead here but just couldn't.. Campbell 36, Troy State 30 - HALFTIME The turnovers are even, rebounds are even, we're shooting 64% to their 32%.. the reason its close? 75% free throws to 44%, Troy State edge, and we both committed 10+ fouls so that's a signifigant edge. 17:03 2nd - Hampton can't convert a 3 point play, but still we're on a 4-0 run and have a 42-32 lead. 16:28 2nd - Janakowski and Hampton are running things again... Hampton just broke double figures to make it 44-32. Timeout Troy State. 12:30 2nd - It's 48-36 Camels, things are still looking good. Hampton and Janakowski have 3 fouls each so they ahve to be careful though. 11:39 2nd - Another timeout by Troy State, we're up 50-36 and lookign for a huge conference win here. 11:09 2nd - Ben Simmons hits a shot, goes to the line, misses a free throwbut we get the board and the putback for a 4 point play! 54-36! 7:54 2nd - Campbell 62, Troy State 43, Hampton has fouled out but we are in great shape here. We have a very long break, almost 2 weeks off after our game on Christmas.
At the beginning of January we get george Singh back, and now we feel like we can compete again. Jeffrey Reilly, a PG from Morresville, NC, has committed to play for our school next season. Reilly is a solid shooter, and again, we're just going after the best players we can get to play for us. He won't ever be much of a point guard but he will see some time at shooting guard for us, possibly some very signifigant time if he can drain the 3 as well as it looks like from his numbers here. That fills out our recruiting class, and it's not a good one really, Reilly will be our best player. The other two are just specialists who won't play a ton. |

Arkansas-Pine Bluff(3-7) at Campbell(4-7) Arkansas Pine Bluff has the single lowest prestige in the nation. They have a solid PF, Dan Granado, he has an 81 inside rating as a freshman. He's averaging 18 ppg. Their point guard is a good shooter too but we're concentrating on Granado. 17:05 1st - George Singh has a bruised jaw, and is 76%... we're going to rest him, we'll use him if we have to but we'd rather not at 76%. 4-2 PineBluff 14:00 1st - Jesus, Tim Hampton is at 80% as he's broken a finger. 8-2 Pine Bluff. 11:04 1st - we trail 10-2. 11% from the field, 8 turnovers.
