I think all three were risky and Mrs. G and Barney were reaches when they were picked. If tween girls voted, I'd win this in a landside!

Thanks! I did this for the fun of the draft, but it is nice to know that at least one other person liked my picks.

I rated each pick individually (1-10) solely based on how well it fits the category and whether it was cool pick or not.

Code:

Code:
RendeR 58 Tasan 58 Mustang 56 Danny 55 Maple Leafs 53 Lathum 51 Raiders Army 50 Karlifornia 47 Cartman 41

It was amazing to me how deep and good the scores were for the Dad category (well done) and how awful the Pet scores were.

Best picks

1.05 Dad - Cliff Huxtable, The Cosby Show
2.12 Best Friend of Lead Character - Paul Pfeiffer, The Wonder Years
1.04 Best Friend of Lead Character - Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzereli, Happy Days
4.09 Brother - Kevin Arnold, The Wonder Years
3.11 Sister - Marsha Brady, The Brady Bunch
3.12 Best Friend of Lead Character - Ed Norton, The Honeymooners

I went for overall strength here. 1 or 2 top flights and the rest (in my view) mediocres were excluded. These 3 I think assembled the strongest cast.

It's funny how you and I got the same top 3 but very different reasons.

Nothing to add here, I'm just quoting people who voted for me because I assume Sak is dumb enough to count them twice.

You know, you would have been easily in third place if it weren't for your lousy 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Kelli Bundi is the best Sister pick in the draft! She plays a major role in her show, she's ridiculous hot and the character is a prime source of the comedy anytime she's on the screen.

Compare her to your preference, marsha Brady. Marsha is really only well known because her younger sister hated all the attention she got at school because she was prettier than her. thats not comedy thats LIFE =) If you wanted a Brady then Jan is the better pick for Sister.
=)

And how can you say Wisconsin is a bad location? Thats TV sitcom HISTORY buddy, HISTORY!!

Happy days, laverne and Shirly, That 70's show, All the spinoffs from hapy days that were located there as well. This country grew up in WISCONSIN because of the sitcoms =)

Bad picks, puh lease

If I grew up in Wisconsin because of sitcoms, I officially hate sitcoms.

...Well it could've been worse.

I could've grown up in Minnesota or Illinois.

I can't complain. I think my weakest picks were Snoopy and Barney Rubble. Dick SOlomon was a middlin pick popularity wise but I absolutely love Lithgow, he's a freaking comedic genius. he took a really lame role on 3rd Rock from the sun and turned it into sit-com gold.

In my own review of things I think maple leafs turned in the best overall list. everyone had at least 2-3 weak or bad picks, but looking through Leafs list I only see one really bad one and maybe 1 other weak one IMO.

I think your first 7 picks were good - all 6-7 (except for a 5 on Rosanne, just because). Your last 3 picks dropped you, imo. Overall, very consistent draft with no terrible picks, but no high winners.

I can't believe that not a single 'Saved by the Bell' character managed to sneak his/her way into an FOFC television draft.....and where the hell is Carlton Banks?

I think folks stayed away from Saved by the Bell for the same reason the Hannah Montana pick got blasted. It wasn't a primetime show, and also really geared towards school kids. For one reason or another, everyone stayed away from those kinds of shows for the most part. I wanted to take Melissa Joan Hart from Clarissa Explains it all, because well quite frankly she has a special place in my, shall we say, "growing up".

As for Carlton, I had him on my Brothers/Sons list, and heavily debated taking him.

No problem. I love drafts.

I made a copy of the spreadsheet and tried to keep up with votes, but I haven't double-checked or anything. It is definitely in need of a recount.

The actual vote numbers after the top 5 are pretty unnecessary, doesn't mean they are ranked that way overall, just means they didn't get top 3 votes.

Thats the one thing I don't like about how we have people vote on this. I wish we had a way to make forms available in thread so that people could go through and rank each pick for each person or at least rank everyone who took part instead of just the top 3.

I oppose a recount, unless of course I fall behind, in which case I will sue for a 2nd recount.

If that is indeed the final count, then hooray! I've come pretty close in previous drafts (Literature, History), but this would be my first win.

I realize I am late voting, it has been a busy week. FWIW, I would have voted
1) Mustang -- no #1 picks, but no dogs
2) Danny -- I'd watch Elizabeth Montgomery clean up the messes caused by Stewie and Kramer
3) RendeR -- There genuinely is a sitcom you could base on the cast RendeR put together.

I see from the score sheet that I saw things much differently from everyone else.
