Palmeiro Pounds HR #400
Wednesday, September 21st, 2050: Las Vegas defeated Spring today 10-8 and took some of the joy out of Héctor Palmeiro's 400th career home run.

"I just wanted to get a good swing on the ball all day," Palmeiro said. "And I did."

Despite the loss, it was a good game for the 31-year-old Lions third baseman. He had 2 hits, scored 1 run and had 5 RBI.

The Wildcats manager said, "You could see he was aggressive up there. The worst thing we did was throw him a strike. It probably would have been better if threw the ball outside of the strike zone every time he came to the plate because he seemed like he was in a hurry to get it over with."

Lifetime Palmeiro has played in 1587 games with a .231 batting average. Among his 1466 hits are 342 doubles, 27 triples and 400 home runs. He also has scored 949 runs and driven in 1245 runs.

Looks to me like Chief tricked you into letting him have a protected draft spot!

WOW

I didnt think having only four starters was smart for an entire season but it really worked out.......Maybe I should only start three........Heck maybe I shoudl just go with relievers because my starters dont seem to be relevant lol

I went with 4 starters and a 12 man pitching staff. So I had two more releivers then most teams (assuming they carry an 11 man staff like I usually do)

That raises a new question....How many pitchers are on your staff? I find 5 starters 5 releivers and 1 designated mop up man is how I usually roll.

I carry 5 SP, 6 MR, and 1 CL. I have went with 11 in a few seasons where I felt my SP stamina was really good. That is few and far between though to not say the 12 man.

EDIT: I will never ever have a 4 man rotation. The people that do that have way more guts then I do. If I have 1 SP that isn't very good I'll just yank him early.

I generally carry 5 SP, and 7 relievers, like hyde. I actually have most of my SPs and RPs set to be pulled early, with talent and ability, and numebr of pitches being the determining factor for where that setting is set, instead of endurance.

I have gone with a 4 man for stretches, depending on my personnel, but generally I prefer a 5 man.

I generally go with a 4-man rotation and if I have an extra SP I use them as a spot starter unless they are really good and then I go with a 5-man rotation. I've found that 4 really good pitchers serve me better than 5 who are kind of middle-of-the-road. I almost always have 6 MR's and 1 closer.

I would think DH teams can carry 1 extra pitcher...I find I fear running out of pinch hitters if I carry 12 pitchers.

Wow I must be in the minority here. Most seasons I have carried 13 pitchers........I dont know that I could go below 12.

I usually carry 12 pitchers, 5 starters and 7 relievers. In the past I have done a four-man rotation and had success with it, but for whatever reason I've done a five-man rotation every season but one since taking over Waikiki. I'm not sure if I used 7 or 8 relievers when I used a four-man rotation though. I'm sure that if you have a couple with decent stamina, you could get away with 7 though. I think stamina seems to be one of the more overrated ratings, that's why you can have a guy with 4 stamina be an effective starter.
