Gotten some questions on the Rex team. So to make things easy, Rex will always get the highest rated player, even the injured ones. The only exception is that starting positions get priority over bench positions, meaning if Rex has all his OF positions filled, but still has no SS. Then a SS should be picked for him even if an OF is rated higher. But this shouldn't come into play until the later rounds.
If you are picking before Rex, pm the person who picks after Rex to let them know its their pick. Hopefully one of you two can put in Rex's picks in the message board. Once the season starts, I will put the injured players on DL or cut them and pick up the highest rated players that the Rex team needs. Um, 1.10 means this is the first round, not 10th. Harper isn't even top 5 fantasy players on his own team. I don't like to bust balls to belittle, but this pick completely defies logic and any sense of realism.
Seriously? Harper? What the everloving fuck, man? |

I disagree. Could he have waited? Probably. Do I think it was outrageous (in a free league) to select Bryce Harper in the 1st round? Plus, if knowing the person who selected him lives in the DC Area and goes to Nats games. No. He has the potential to put up better numbers than Adam Jones and he was selected two picks later. I tell you one thing, he wouldn't have lasted past me at 2.11 / 3.2. |

Last I checked, we had a scoring system that doesn't account for "potential" or "who I can take the Metro to watch play." Justify it that way if you will, but you simply cannot make an argument that Bryce Harper is a first, second, third, fourth, or even a fifth round pick in a 12-team MLB fantasy league.
But of you want to take him and leave Rendon, Desmond, Scherzer, and Strasburg for me to choose from? Please and Thank You. |

I stand corrected - ZiPS has Harper projected to be the 45th best fantasy player in the majors, so you can argue a 4th round pick and so a 3rd rounder is only a small stretch.

I just never participate or call people out in those types of situations unless they are super outrageous and are deemed tank worthy (ie. taking Anthony Recker in the first round). Plus, I just think its bad karma or what often happens is when you look back on this draft seven months from now, you'll see that either 1. It was a good pick 2. The player you drafted after shit the bed or got hurt 3. Wish you had the gall to make that pick. I've been doing this for 25 years, I've seen my share of it all.

Subby has until 10 am to make his pick. 3 hour limit during the day.
Please enforce the rules and give the person the top guy on yahoo if he doesn't make his pick in time and pm the next person that it is their pick. It is the only way we have a chance of getting this draft done by opening day. 28 rounds in 20 days, we can do it!!!! Last edited by LastWhiteSoxFanStanding : 03-17-2015 at 01:19 AM. |
