That's putting it mildly. And the net result is that if any of your friends ever delete their team without first warning you they're going to do it? You get to pay Sega if you want to increase the friends list! Not that the friends list means terribly much anymore since you have to pay to trade with your friends. About all it's good for is endless friendly scrimmage. |

Josh - Please post exactly what the game does when you try to remove them and I'll pass it along to edward @ sega. I already brought it up with him but he wants to know exactly what happens (is it an error message or it just fails to complete with no message or something else?)

Damnit. After my careful planning to try and avoid the point cap prior to the new cycle, my team had to get all ambitious and win the 'ranking tournament.'
Good job and all, boys, but we're sitting at 93k points now before our promotion bonus and I think at least one of my friends won a title. Damnit. Promotion bonus of 10k, friend title bonus of 5k, means we lost 8k points to the cap. Exactly the size of the ranking tournament bonus. Warn me next time you guys are feeling ambitious! Quote:
It's an error message. Something about dividing by zero, who knows. If I double click his name, it says 'this team has been deleted. you can not see team data.' If I click 'remove friend,' it says 'Server error has occurred: ERROR CODE -2810'. If I simply try to respond to a friend request sitting in my inbox, it asks me if I want to either use a ticket or spend Sega cash. As I say, I think it amounts to the game dividing by zero. |

Nice work, Josh. I just saw you won. I was able to use contract extensions on Hanley Ramirez and Ubaldo to try and keep my team in tact for a return to the pros.

Has anybody received any arcade tickets recently?
Two seasons ago they gave one out everyday. Now - nothing...

Arles, I have no idea *what* I won, or how. I didn't know there WAS a ranking tournament. Just the World tournament and Champions tournament. We'd spent a few days in the top 30 of the rankings last season, but I didn't realize they were doing an actual tournament based on that. But we won, got a few cards as a reward, and 8000 points. Nice to know for future reference, I guess. |

In world 102 I finished 2nd in AAA this year and have now won 6 in a row to advance to the final of the Champions Tournament.

Victory...Lincecum in bad form gave up 1 run over 7 innings for the win. Next season could be rough in the majors though as I lose both my 10 players and have had trouble drawing anything higher than 7 in the past 3 seasons.

Chalk one up for cheap bastards like me
Clinched a title in the Majors with 4 games left in the season. Highlights later but for now I'm rather pleased with myself, winning w/out spending a dime AND w/out doing anything more to the lineup than watching the arrows closely. I don't think there's more than 3 players from any team on my active roster.

I missed out on day one to start the season so I had a bunch of 1 star players at almost all my positions! (CURSES!!!)
Starting the season at 1-14 killed me but here I sit at 85-63 and tied for 8th place (demotion is 9th). THe game actually has me sitting in 9th place so hopefully the last two games will favor me and they actually do. The other team faces the 1st and 4th place teams while I face the 7th and 13th place teams. LETS GO!! Last edited by mauchow : 06-03-2011 at 07:49 PM. |

At least this time I will stay up in the majors.
Hopefully, we can get some good scouting pulls to improve our depth for when guys go cold.

How do ties get decided? I have a better head to head record against this guy and I'm going to get relegated. Lame.

Probably home record or somesuch. I lost my penultimate game of the season to lock in 5th place, then got blown out by a 4th place team that had nothing to play for. |

Giddy with delight, that was a great f'n season beyond my wildest expectations considering how piss poor I was in my first single-season trip to the majors. Think I figured out why though: first cycle likely to be my best, lower salary cap means other players can't stack teams as easily & it's easier to survive on a combination of effort & luck. Whatever, I'll take it
108-42, won by 8 games over 2nd & 3rd, 9 over 4th. Led wire to wire, boosted by a 10-0 start to the season & a 7-0 finish. The switch of Davis/Swisher for Pujols/Moreland (after Burrell flopped) was huge but wasn't easy to make initially because Davis was productive & I've had lousy luck with several high cost players. I end up with 8 positions contributing 100 RBI's or more, only Izturis wasn't a threat. Only used 1 pitcher >7* (Weaver), only 2>5* (Wolf) Very offensive minded team, very different from what I usually end up with. Next season I'll probably get overwhelmed by mid-season but this was a fun ride to take. My son's team (which I handled 99% of) finished 4th & avoided relegation as well, so it was easily the best season I've had in any cycle.

I can't tell you how much wood I get every time I give up 7+ runs in a single inning. So nice of Sega to oblige me that way.

Had a 3rd place finish last year, but saw an amazing performance by 10-star OF Carlos Gonzalez:
.418 AVG (1.254 OPS), 193 runs, 55 HR, 214 RBI, 27 SB in 641 ABs It was like the best of Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Hack Wilson and a little Ricky Henderson all combined into 1. |

Nothing quite like an 8 game (and counting) losing streak to fall from 2nd to 5th on the final day of the season.

Guess I should bitched sooner. Won the final game of the regular season to finish in a three-way tie for 4th at 88-62 ... I had the tiebreaker

After two strong seasons in the majors to start the cycle, we found ourselves getting pounded like a worn out porn star on a regular basis in the 3rd season, spending most of the season under the cut line.
Fought our way back up to 7th to end day 9, and then after a start to the final day alternating wins and losses, reeled off a 6 game win streak before losing our 5pm EST game. Had we won it we'd have clinched non-relegation. As it stands, we're 5 clear with 5 to play. I've never avoided the drop three straight seasons at this level, so we've got that to fight for. |

Finished 1st in Majors with 97-53, then proceed to get eliminated in the 1st round of the Champions Tournament. Good and bad news.

Held on to finish 8th, 2 games under .500
Son's team was a disaster all season, finished 14th. Highlights? There weren't any stinkin' highlights. Couldn't hit a lick, not a single player other than Pujols on either of our teams hit .300 for the year. Usually reliable hitters turned into 2012 Dan Uggla.

At the rate things are going I'd somehow end up in Hawaii, stumbling into someone's backyard mumbling something about kids, my lawn, and not having the slightest idea how I actually got there.

Sounds almost exactly like my son's last season. 4th to 13th finish, despite most chemistry in the reds, half the lineup hit around .200. He started today 60-15 back in AAA with virtually the same lineup. I wasn't much better last season, fell from 1st to 8th (which I hung onto by 1 game).

Some fairly significant overhauls with the last weekly maintenance evidently. Duplicate players now get +1 to all stats when you pull them from a pack (presumably also when you acquire them via trade, which I'm not sure I like).
Virtually every team has had new players added, which sucks if you were thisclose to completing a pitcher/hitter/team book, but is actually kind of sweet if you already had a few of those completed, as you can now essentially double dip on rewards for completing those pitching staffs/offenses/teams. My favorite change? The trade search engine now allows you to look for players you haven't yet collected. |

I think I'm beginning to tire of this game. There are a few frustrations: The biggest tedium is if I go away for a day or two, I have to sit through a quick box score of every game I missed. Also, I just don't feel like a lot of the decisions impact things and there is a ton of randomness. I have 2 10-rated pitchers fully trained and one looks like Cy Young and the other Elmer Dessens (always out by the 5th-6th inning with an ERA in the 5s). Both have the same condition and rapport with the catcher and neither are on the team or region of my main team. I also grow tired of the 6-7 run 8th inning when one team is up big. It's helped me and hurt me, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense that 7-10 rated pitchers just get randomly destroyed like BP guys late in the game (esp with a good bullpen).
Still, the main reason is I just don't see a reason to keep putting time in. My team has been in the majors for the past 4-5 seasons and I've finished between 1st and 7th each season, settling around 3rd-5th the past 2. I'm just not sure what's left to accomplish given I'm not willing to spend the time each day to bump from 4th to 1st/2nd. It was a fun little time waster, but the payoff isn't worth the time investment at this point (IMO). Last edited by Arles : 07-15-2011 at 10:27 AM. |
