That TO was inexcusable. WTF?

Total luck to get to OT.

They got away with it. Hopkins is new to the team, that's one of those plays where you have to know what the quarterback's trying to do in a very specific situation. If he had read it as Mahomes did, they get the FG attempt.

Once again, there was a play on that final drive where Mahomes was running and then does a sudden slide. It was the kind of slide that a defender might not be able to pull out of their tackle attempt. I feel like (here and in the out of bounds plays) Mahomes is trying to take advantage of player safety rules to get free first downs and it really bothers me.

The Bucs need a new coach bump. They can still save this season.

Love this move. He’s been the most logical fit for the Lions since Hutchinson went down. To be honest, I would not say no to another DE.

The window is now!

And a 5th and 6th pick is a good deal for Smith.

He has done this for years and that's why I think the defenders should get the benefit of the doubt on those calls. If you want to get out of bounds or slide, do it. None of this fake bullshit to get calls.

Damn, not a single post about the best game of the year last night? I'm trying to move past the election.

Anyway, amazing game. The instant it happened, it felt like the Bengals' fumble up 21-7 with all the momentum was going to be a game-changer, and it was.

Unfortunately, the game ended on what appeared to be a bit of controversy in that Gesicki got absolutely mauled coming off the line the second the ball was snapped on the failed 2-point conversion, and the refs ate their flags after escorting the Bengals down the field on a series of Ravens' penalties (all of which seemed OK/legit). I don't know if a call would have been made either way, but I don't think Gesicki helped himself by turning into a South American soccer player in an attempt to sell the call. But he shouldn't have needed to.

The other thing I'll note is that I found it hard to watch the broadcast continually show Burrow getting nailed in the small of the back replay after replay to discuss that he might be hurting, but I don't recall one word about the fact that the hit came 3-4 steps after the ball was released. Guys get roughing calls for sneezing on a QB, but that hit wasn't flagged, nor commented on by the broadcasters even after showing it at least a dozen times? What am I missing?

The Bengals have three All-Pro level players, Burrow, Chase, and Hendrickson, but they'll almost certainly miss the payoffs because the rest of the roster is terrible.

You're writing everything I would have written except that as good as Joe Cool was, Lamar was a little better. That almost-TD run where he was pressured by 3 guys was insane. If I were a clickbait writer, I'd be saying "Is Lamar a better mobile QB than Mahomes?".

The rest of their schedule is pretty weak (2 games against the Steelers is about it), but absolutely, losing 2-3 games that were "in the bank" - on an annual basis - is pretty ridiculous and might prove too costly this year.

The forcible contact to the head was arguably a more egregious missed call than the holding on that 2 point conversion, and that's saying quite a bit. Pretty sad when two different officials miss two entirely different obvious calls on the same play.

What really hurts the Bengals is that Patriots loss. Aside from that you have a 1 point loss to the 8-0 Chiefs, a 5 point loss to the 7-2 Commanders, a 1 point loss and a 3 point OT loss to the 7-3 Ravens and a 20 point loss to the 6-2 Eagles. That's a really strong group of teams, and aside from the Eagles game, Cincy was in all of those games right up until the end.

As it is, they are 4-6. The Broncos hold the final wildcard at 5-4 and have the Chiefs this week. I think a 9-8 team could get into the playoffs in the AFC this year, but that means the Bengals need to go 5-2 in their final seven.

New deal for Chuba Hubbard. From the Panthers, a cesspool roster that just made an absurd signing of RB Miles Sanders (a contract nobody would take off their hands) and spent 2nd round capital on a RB who can't play.

I'd say fire Eberflus (and Waldron), but who do you even replace them with mid-season? The entire coaching staff is bad.

True, but Poles has to go as well. He kept Eberluuz, has had mediocre drafts, didn't fix the line issues, and his FA choices have not been good. Moore is a problem too. I saw it in preseason with drops and lackadaisical route running. He got paid and his boy got sent to the Steelers. He has no interest in playing football for the Bears, not that many players do unless you are an OL scrub that wouldn't make the practice squad on most teams. Waldron is worse than Getsy, but at least the Raiders had the balls to fire him. What does that say about the Bears organization when they wait until the end of the season to do what needs to be done now?. Anyone is better than the Eberluuz/Where's Waldron combination. Promote Washington or Brown to HC, and try Joseph at OC. The losing culture has got to change, and it won't with the current coaching staff, but you can't keep rolling out the current HC/OC every week.

And how good or bad is Williams? With this offense, who knows? He doesn't look any better than Fields out there. In fact, Fields and Trubisky had great games too but never passed the eye test. Painted nails boy holds the ball too long like they did, and really doesn't want to run. He looks disengaged on the sidelines. I think his ego is bigger than his talent.

It's been written by many that Poles and Eberluuz shared the same philosophy, and because Poles wanted continuity he decided to keep him as HC. What is that philosophy? Lose more games to get higher draft picks? From my vantage point that's what it looks like. The Bears might not win another game this year.

The season has unraveled in Chicago. Williams has the arm. I wonder sometimes if the decision is made too quickly with these top-of-round one guys. But then you see Darnold slowly turning back into a pumpkin and Lance is not getting another look with Prescott out.

Nice use of the alternate helmet from Dallas in honor of Veteran's Day.

I really don't understand why the Cowboys don't go with Lance. They aren't making the playoffs, so play the guy that either develops or loses so that yu can be better next year. Playing a 30 year old backup who will win a few games makes no sense.

Because he's been there a year-plus now and he hasn't established himself. No one got more snaps in pre-season. It wasn't even close. And he was absolutely terrible.

We see Rush make a dumb mistake that really cost them early, so it's going to get questioned, but here they are at a turning point in the season. Win this one at home, get some of that defensive talent back, and the season is still alive - the North has back-loaded schedules, there's a wild-card spot for a 10-7 team, most likely. Lose today, and that's a more fleeting proposition.

So they play today like the season is on the line, and Rush gives them a better chance. They might re-evaluate next week. Obviously they didn't flat-out release Lance when he made it look like he was destined for the CFL in the pre-season.

I don't think there's any way they go 7-2 without Dak, so I'd play Lance and take losses as a way to get the next QB.

But I get that McCarthy loses his job that way. I just think playing Rush ends up with more wins but still not enough for the playoffs.

It was mentioned in the Tribune earlier this week that Eberflus actually is signed through '26. So he was never getting fired after last season.

It's insane they gave Eberflus a 5 year deal when no one wanted him. But the Bears organization seems built to give money to Trace Armstrong clients.

A team can fire a guy no matter the contract. Bad teams do bad things. The Bears are are a bad organization so they will continue to do bad things like keep an HC beyond his useful coaching lifespan because of money. They are not a football organization; the McCaskeys are all about the money and they have parlayed the Bears into a billion dollar business even with the horrendous product they put on the field.

Someone in administration thinks they are the smartest person in the room. Pace was like that even though there was mucho evidence to the contrary. Poles seems to fit the mold too. And Bears ownership has always been stupid but still thinking they outsmarted the rest of the football world. Idiots all. At least the Bears don't have to purposely tank. Their normal preparation and play will guarantee only four wins this season.

Indeed, theres a good chance the Raiders will be paying four head coaches next season
