Even if Milwaukee wasn't going to match, Knight was under no obligation to consider an offer from Phoenix. He could have tried to sign an offer sheet for the same amount of money with any other team, and it would have just been between that team and the Bucks.

The idea that won was pretty funny. The draft is entirely based on record, and the team with the worst record gets the first choice.. of which team's pick they'll get the following year. So Minnesota would get to say "Philadelphia, you guys suck and are not going to get any better, so we want your pick next year." Kinda dumb when you think of how one of the best teams in the league would have ended up with OKC's pick this year because of injuries, but there would be some really silly rivalries from the teams calling one another out like that. |
