So is the game more PVE focused or PVP focused? I just start up another month of FF14 but I might be interested in New World after that. Hopefully the queue lines are down and launch bugs (if any, I don't know) are fixed.

Finished AC:Valhalla the other day after playing for months. Fun game but way too long and way too much puzzle nonsense. Felt like I was looking up how to do something constantly because I didn't care to spend 20 minutes figuring out how to open a door.

Back 4 Blood is a good game.
IF. If you have decent humans on your team. If you have bots, or run and gunners, mission 1-4 will drive you mad.

Yeah, I know. Starfield is a year away with a Nov 11, 2022 release date. But I can't wait to play this.
It's inevitably going to be buggy and underwhelm some folks (combat is too easy, unrealistic etc.) but ready for the next great Bethesda game. I know it's going to be single player. I'm bought into FO76 system where there is some voluntary PvP but mostly still PvE but you can interact with other players. But will still enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpz3...ab_channel=IGN |

While I have never played the board game, Gloomhaven is a refreshing addition to my video game collection. Unique and brutally unforgiving, have failed on the first main quest 3 times and I love it.

Dusted off Mechwarrior Online and have been playing it the last couple of days. Kind of amusing.

I love it! Both the board game and video game versions. One of my favorite board games of all time. So many perfect turns ruined by the fact that the perfect moves just happen to be both bottom or top half moves. So many and so often not realized until after you’ve played your cards.

So finally fired up Wasteland 3. While I gave up on Wasteland 2 about half way through, I’m loving 3. It’s been super fun. Great writing, really good soundtrack, good missions, fun choices and you always feel like you’re trying to get better - characters level up a lot, better guns, better armor, better mods. Super solid turn -based RPG.

Anyone have an ideas on how to fudge the game list on the XBox One?
Looking to pick up a few Christmas games while they are on sale and don’t want them like all over the place advertising we own them.

WSJ reports that Microsoft is buying Blizzard. That would be a big move, but makes sense with all the trouble Blizzard has been having recently.
Edit: The price tag is $70 billion dollars. Microsoft has announced it is official. Last edited by GrantDawg : 01-18-2022 at 07:40 AM. |

Just to add, the CEO of Microsoft gaming confirms that means all Activision Blizzard games, including many older games, are going to become part of the Xbox Game Pass. Nice.

I think he knew he was gone and that's why there was the push to sell.
Little surprised by the price tag. I knew Call of Duty was big, but didn't know it was that big. |

I had read somewhere they had about $60 billion in revenue, so that price is not much over revenue. It actually might be a bargain.

Sell 20-30M copies of a AAA game at ~$60/unit, and that's $1B-$2B right there.

Just discovered the awesomeness of Stardew Valley. Reminds me of the old Harvest Moon games from the PS2 era. It's on Game Pass & cheap on many devices. Especially great with split-screen/online multiplayer!

I always hear people reference Stardew Valley as relaxing, but it has the absolute opposite effect on me, I stress about the time of day and getting enough stuff done in each day, and it ends up feeling worse than work. I am quite high-strung though.

It's definitely a different feeling than competitive games or more intense games so in that regard it's "low stress." My advice would be to do multiplayer if that interests you. Having others to share the experience with makes it even better. |

Compare it with Animal Crossing? That and Harvest Moon seem to kindof be the comps for it. I've put in a lot of hours falling asleep to various versions of Animal Crossing but whenever I start becoming completist in it, it gets messy and stressful.

I would describe it as a cross between Harvest Moon & Animal Crossing though closer to the HM side of the spectrum. If either of those games are appealing then I definitely recommend Stardew Valley. |

The first time I played it, when I didn't know what I was doing, the time component stressed me out too. Then, I watched Cohh play it for a few days and got to know the game better. I went back and played and it wasn't stressful. There's always tomorrow.

Some day I will go back and play it. I tried it out because people kept bragging on it, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it is so loved. I probably need to watch some videos to see what the point of the game is.

Looks like I am getting a used digital PS5 from a co-worker.
I want to trade in my PS4, but it looks like none of the retailers that I can conveniently trade it in to have a way for me to use the credit to buy digital games. WTF?!

I was ready not to like Elden Ring but it sounds incredible. Although the story sounds like GRR had 2 weeks to turn it in and realized he hadn’t done any work and just decided to plagiarize Tolkien and hope he got away with it.
