Okay coaches, record Purdue's last seconds on how NOT to close out a game.

Stupid play by Taylor to dunk it there when he could have run the clock out

You have to dribble out the rest of the clock there. Sheesh. I think they'll still win though.

So, do you foul after they waste the first second?

If Purdue gets a 3 point shot off like Georgetown did I'm going to laugh my ass off.

I feel bad for Purdue. 3 point lead, ball in their hands, and the PG just had a rough one.

Stupid Purdue. Well done to Kansas for hanging tight. Yes, I'm calling this game. I'm not seeing a miracle here.

Unfortunately, while Taylor is really fast and can be ridiculously skilled, he's emotional and dumb as a brick

That is the prime example on how not to close out the game late.

Those offensive possessions late by Purdue have been AWFUL.

Me: Sucks to see Purdue get beat. It would be fun to see another Big Ten team win.
(pause)
Me: Can you imagine 5 Big Ten teams in the Sweet 16 with Purdue being one and Michigan being sent home in round one?

I'm sorry, but when Purdue was up by 3, Robinson punched at the ball twice and on the second one, it sure looked to me like a foul.

I don't think its more than usual. I feel like I've commented countless times over the last 3-4 years about the utter lack of coaching, execution and good decision making in the final minute of tournament games, I think its a major running theme in the game now.

I dont care if the final score is 44-41. This Cincy/FSU game has the feel of a final four type intensity.

I'm surprised by the amount of missed free throws we're seeing at the end of tight games. There's been a few situations where fouling late is working more than usual, IMO.

I would hope so since they were the #2 seed and I had them continuing to the Final Four.

But you can never take anything for granted in the tourney. Just ask Duke or Mizzou or Cincy or Florida State.

That was almost us, too

I don't think many expected Cinci to go the sweet 16. If they finish this out good for them.

Kilpatrick uses 9.5 seconds to shoot his free throw.

Does the 10 second rule even exist?

5 of the Elite 8 look like rather good match ups with the three other being a high seed vs. a low seed.

As a UC basketball fan, my resentment for OSU is sky-high. Growing up in Cincinnati, it seemed to be Cincy bball fans and OSU football fans. As a kid, that was how I rolled. It's just what the norm was. As I grew older, I realized it was kind of weird to root for two different colleges in two different sports so I just gravitated towards Cincinnati collegiate everything- after all, my home city. All well and good. Since the Huggins' era ended, I've noticed a dramatic change in culture- it seems there are more Ohio State basketball fans than Cincinnati basketball fans and even now it is that recruits would rather go play for OSU than UC. I now loathe OSU. It's a great chance for redemption. Ohio's best basketball team should always be UC. Go Bearcats. Can't wait for the game!

I mean, if anything it was always a battle between better team- Xavier or Cincy. Now Ohio State is in the mix always... where was this when I was a teen? We looked at Ohio State bball the same way OSU football treated Cincy football? "Aww, they're doing well... good for them!!!"

That was an appropriate ending to FSU's season. Luke Loucks has been making shitty passes for 4 years, throwing the ball away like a 7th grader, and to telegraph that pass at that time... perfect.

That was a terrible game to watch, made worse because we lost. It's like the refs knew these teams were physical and played good defense, so they called almost nothing. Ultimately, that's why I am not a fan of the game. Call the damn fouls, on both sides. That was a remarkably awful demonstration of the game. I wish I had 2 more hours of sleep.
