What's the update on his injury? Is he one well-placed shot to the ribs away from being a spectator tonight?

And OSU responds 7-7.

OSU had a great one-handed catch

Impressive answer by tOSU. amazing grab by the TE.

I do think they will need some sustained drives.

It is amazing how much you hate Georgia, but how quickly you will defend Kirby, Jon. Kirby has proven he has no idea how to develop or coach quarterbacks.

I ain't defending Kirby,I'm on record saying I don't believe he's a guy who can get the title you want.

I'm criticizing a guy who showed up unready to win a job that he clearly felt should be handed to him. I sincerely hope that Fields grew up a lot along the way -- that's certainly possible -- but the petulant little cunt that he was upon arrival isn't anything a sane Georgia fan should wish had stayed.

Atlanta owns pick #4. If Smith is still available, we should get him (regardless if WR is a need).

What a game. AL went up 21-14. Can either team play defense?

My pregame over dinner possible outcomes included a 50s-50s shootout. Felt like Bama's defense could regress, and so far they kinda have.

Do you think somebody should tell Ohio State there is the current Heisman winner out there? I mean I know Bama is deep but holy crap.

The early narrative was something about how thin tOSU was in the secondary, so they'd stick with 3 or 4 LBs most of the time.

Could their 5th/6th/7th DBs being on the field make their pass defense any less efficient?

Not putting a MLB on him is probably a decent start. This is just dumb as hell defense.

When I listened to the preview on ESPN U Radio, they talked about OSU using a 2 deep zone since they are not as stout at DB like they usually are. It's a plan that MSU, I think, employed earlier in the season that kept Smith and Harris in check.

Doesn't look like that was the gameplan, or it didn't work out.

Wasn't Miss State, that was a 48-0 slaughter with 4 Smith TDs.

Honestly, nobody has really done much to hold them in check this year. They haven't scored fewer than 31 in a game. Least productive day for the Smith / Harris duo was against A&M .. and they won that one 52-24, with Waddle & Metchie combining for 323 yds and 3 TDs and Jones throwing for a career best 435

Holy smokes. Alabama would give the Bears a run. They are probably better offensively than the Bears.

Devonte Smith didn't even score against Mizzou. LOL!

I do wonder if the Jets will take Fields over sticking with Darnold and drafting Smith? Is Darnold really a lost case, I don't follow the Jets much?

I think Darnold is a lost cause in NY. Maybe he can Tannehill somewhere else, but I don't think he can improve enough to get an extension in NY.

Watching Saban coach is like watching Maddux pitch.

And his ability to judge personalities and character seems to be largely unmatched.

And I listen to Smith speak after the game and I legitimately worry about what NFL life will do to him.

He seems like a very different kinda dude.

He doesn't speak with confidence (?) but certainly has tons of it on the field.

Wasn't a full season but still enjoyed it. I'm glad they played this year; didn't hear of any players get seriously ill from Covid; corny as it was, the piped in boos/cheers worked etc.

it certainly helped me distract/deal from all this Covid mess.

Great analogy. He knows what he needs to do to win. And he does it. Over and over and over. He makes it look so easy, even as you know that there’s 1000s of hours of hard work behind making it look so easy.

I'd probably take Smith as the first WR, but I worry that his comp is Peter Warrick.

I struggle with OSU ranked #2 after the shellacking but then who else if not OSU. Probably should have left #2 empty in honor of AL's (and SEC's) dominance in the CFP/BCS era circa 2006+... "speed, any questions?"

If he lasts until then it won't surprise me. They like Chase and his Burrow connection a lot, though.
