This is my worry.

Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.

Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk. Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

We haven't had tear gas in Oak Park that I know about. We just get helicopters and sirens a lot -- it's just 5 miles or so from Broadview, so I imagine it's all stuff coming and going from there. Sirens going off aren't rare here usually, but it's hard to tell if it is more often than before or just feels like it because I'm payine more attention.

This was right by where the big confrontation was today from what I read -- 105th on the East Side. If they keep hitting up those areas, it won't be long before there are full scale riots.

Yeah, they were driving recklessly and crashed. People in the neighborhood came out to confront them and police had to separate it. ICE is claiming they were chasing someone here illegally but they have lied about almost every single incident that you can't trust a word.

Same story you see everyday. ICE acting like maniacs trying to start confrontations or hurt innocent people, get caught on video doing it, then lie.

An example of the shit is what happened in Hoffman Estates in that article above. The video of them violently arresting a teenager made the rounds. At first they claimed the video was years old which ended up being a lie. Then they claimed it was the CPD doing it when it actually happened in Hoffman Estates (a suburb of Chicago). Then they claimed the person was a criminal they were catching but didn't charge them with anything. Ended up being someone who was recording them and they got mad and violently assaulted her.

Summary: ICE wanted to go into a private cemetery to kidnap some people, but the cemetery employees (four US ciitizens) wouldn't let them in. So ICE opened the gate with bolt cutters, then pepper sprayed and arrested the employees. Also, the people they wanted to kidnap weren't even in the cemetery, they were on the other side of it.

Remember that big raid on an apartment building in Chicago with blackhawk helicopters? The one that Stephen Miller went on TV to brag about taking down illegal immigrant gangs? Turns out no one in the building was in a gang and they just harassed a black neighborhood for shits and giggles.

I don't think people really understand the shit going down in Chicago and how little national media coverage it is getting. If you go to some of the subreddits you'll see video after video of crimes committed by ICE.

Anyone know what's up in DC? I've seen this in the New York Times embedded in several articles now:

Washington, D.C.: 2,400 agents deployed in August for a crime-fighting push.
Los Angeles: Peaked at 4,700 agents in June; a report from October 2025 stated the number was down to 100.
Chicago Area: Around 500 troops, potentially including some ICE agents.

When I look at ICE trackers, I see big concentrations of activity in Chicago and LA, and now Portland, but DC is never as much. Anyone from there know what is going on? Are the agents still there as much as before? Or is there activity that's not getting reported (seems unlikely)?

The other charge is "obstruction" that they use to take people and inevitably release. All these crimes they claim keep happening just outside of the view of all the cameras we have of course.

So they basically just take in people that are too brown for their liking or who annoy them, make up some bullshit story for the press, then release with no charges.
