I'm thiking on joining as Baylor or as Toledo coach.
I like Baylor as it's the team i'm coaching in the FBCB league, where i made it go from bottom feeder to the NCAA tourney in a few years, but it could be probably too hard to rebuild with the hard schedule in BBCF. I like also that it's in a conference with lots of humans. I like also Toledo as it's a team that i follow a lot in real life (stupid reason, just that the city where i live in Spain is named Toledo too). The schedule is easier than Baylor's one, and it should be possible to win the conference from time to time. The only minus is that there aren't a lot of human coaches there. North Carolina could be fun to rebuild once the great seniors are out and the conference has also a good amount of human teams. Any other recomendation? i want an average team, not a top one and not a bottom feeder. I want to be able to at least win some games and to have fun recruiting, without it being too easy with a top team.

As far as I am aware, Pittsburgh is still open, they likely are finishing 2nd in the big east this year and did pretty well all around considering a respectable schedule. Its a good mix of being in a conference with a fair amount of other coaches, being in an area of recruiting that isn't as hard as the SE , the west or Texas, and could still give a challenge for you. |

Yeah, Baylor is a bottom-feeder, especially for football. It has been about 30 years, in real life, since they were a decent team. It would be a huge challenge to bring them back to even a "6 wins and a bowl" level.

By the by cartman, 2 people have asked to claim syracuse in the forum...you might want to figure it out, as it appears jonny requested to retake them over like 3 minutes after someone else asked to take them over.

Thanks for the recommendation, i checked their roster and i liked what i saw, they have some good RB's with some eligibility years remaining, and i like smashmouth football They lack a top QB, but i'll try to recruit one, let's see if i can find the next Dan Marino (as a real life Dolphins Fan, it will be nice to coach the team where Marino played as QB). I have officially applied for the team in the forums.

Really?? Boo!!! I guess I could take Pitt instead if somebody already has dibbs or do I get preferential treatment because I was the previous owner?? EDIT: Per Icy's post...guess Pitt will be off the market, too. LOL!!! Last edited by johnnyshaka : 09-25-2007 at 01:08 PM. |

I'm still trying to decide how much I like this game and whether it's enough to join this league.
Would probably want to take over Northern Illinois if I do decide to join, even though there aren't a lot of MAC teams. Or I may just end up going with Illinois/Northwestern in the Big Ten.

I actually think it wouldn't be too hard to make Baylor a winning program. Yeah, its a tough division, but I think bowl-eligible is doable within a couple of years.

Don't worry, Shaka. You sent me the PM before the other post, so you are first in line for the Orangemen.

not as much as me DC, believe me. Been looking over and over at that UNM roster, importing it in excel, greying out the players who will need to be replaced (I will lose four halfbacks and four cornerbacks btw, ). Very, very much looking forward to it...
That's one thing I like a lot about that game, the ability to generate the report in HTML and simply copy/paste de thing into excel. I do that a lot with my current single player career. FM

For those who are interested, the league championship game will be simmed tonight, starting around 8pm Central. I will be doing a live drive by drive simulcast of the game on the league board. After that, new coach requests will start to be processed!

from what cartman posted, Lathum told him he would be back at Maryland. I had called dibs if he didn't return but I'll take New Mexico to new, never seen before lows instead.

I am excited that both of you joined. I know Chief well enough to know that a down year from Louisville will only make him that more dangerous this year. Combined with Syracuse and Pitt who both already were good teams when computer controlled, and General Mike over at Rutgers, I think this will be a scary conference next year to try to survive in. Looking forward to the fun season. (and for anyone else looking to possibly join, Uconn is also open and they had a decent offense last season. They need some help on defense though, but their passing attack was probably top 20 last season. |

I want the conference championship this year dammit! If we didn't lose that game to freaking Neon Chaos, we would have been in. So forgive me, but I hope you all have poor recruiting classes this year in the Mountain West. Go Aztecs!

Oh yes. Sorry about that, but also make sure to have poor gameplans and put your best guys on the bench, because you really want to save them from have any illusions of making it to the pros. But that is only against my team. For all other teams, you can mix it up a bit.

I'm going to have to drop UMd since my wedding and honeymoon will be when the last 5 weeks of recruiting are.
Frogman wanted first shot at UMD so it's his if he wants it and the other ACC owners are ok with it. |

BTW, if SuperKDogg still wants PSU and just forgot to re-enlist, then I think he should retain the Nittany Lions.
