NM, too public, wolves would know who they were. Bad idea.

So if the two parties, and the speaker can submit bills, then we could potentially have 2 bills to pass from our side, one from the party, the other from the speaker.

Yeah, if we get Speaker of the House, we could pass 2 bills. It's a huge advantage to get that spot.

And if we take the speaker role we could submit a Hunter type bill, where the person scans and if it's a wolf they have a certain percentage chance to kill the wolve/die in the attack or something along those lines.

So we have three big decisions:
Leader of the party Liason Presidential candidate Unless I missed it, and I don't think anything has been finalized, here is what I'm thinking: Leader of the party should actually be more on the conservative side in order to placate all of our constituents. The liason can be middle-conservative to mild-conservative, keeping the peace on the fringes. The presidential candidate, to have a shot popular vote-wise should probably be middle of the road conservative. If you ere too much towards the middle, we might win but irritate Republicans (see John McCain) or if we go too far right, we'll alienate the middle and likely lose. Anyone else? |

NM, missed some posts obviously. So Pass/Tyrith are liason/leader, good start. I would say St. Cronin for Pres. as he's middle-conservative.

Shouldn't Pres candidate be a tinge to the middle as he'll get votes from a broader perspective of Americans?

Ok, so if I'm reading you guys correct, we'd want
Leader: Tyrith Liaison: Pass Speaker: Cronin Pres Cand.: Mrs. S That right? Or by middle do you mean like me (the most lib of the Repubs) |

Was there any reason in particular Mrs. S voted for cronin before we really discussed it?

In the main thread, I said that I "could support" a bill that has the BG and seer up as random. Do we really want to risk that the seer ends up as a non-Republican given the power of the role?
I guess we would be rolling the dice in that we could get both roles on our side but at the same time, we could get none or lose seer and just get BG. Thoughts? |

I don't think so -- maybe she thought she wouldn't be able to catch up fully by deadline (even though she said she would be back before it). I think it's an okay vote, but I'll say again that we should try to collaborate before putting out votes early, since we don't want to unvote if we can help it. |

Sure thing, illinifan. It's looking like all you will have to do is choose what type of politican you are (PM that to CR), and vote for speaker in the thread (probably for cronin).

Okay, I don't see any real opposition to me being leader so I'm going to go ahead and assume that will be the case.
I would shade towards the middle a little more for our presidential candidate -- either illinifan or Render would be my pick, but Mrs. S would be okay too. We need to come up with some riders for our seer bill. Either give the seer some chance to live through an attack (25-33%) or broadcast his info upon death. I would encourage our more conservative members to vote against the BG bill on the understanding that we're going to let it pass. The people towards the middle of the road should probably be able to jump ship and show their bi-partisaness and be okay. |

I'm fine with being the presidential candidate if thats what y'all want. Not sure if it makes me a target or safer in the long run. I'm submitting a totally honest, popular style poitician for myself.

BTW, I have to leave in about 45-60 minutes and will not be back for several hours (this will not be a usual occurrence) so I'm going to submit my name as leader here in just a few minutes.

For the bill I'm going to announce our likely presidential candidates as cosponsors - Mrs. S for one, probably illini as the other. The dems used their 3rd and 5th from the center as their two cosponsors so they're probably thinking along the same lines we are.

I wonder if we should go more centrist than Mrs. S, to hedge our bets, in case Chubby beats cronin.

We could do illini/Render. I'd like to be someone that can be around for the night phase regularly -- I know that's not heinz, and I'm not sure about those two.

Then I say we go with the illini/Render team as our potential candidates to talk about tomorrow. We have to decide by the end of the day and I'd be content either way.

We'll also have to decide what we want to do with our slurry/support powers or did we already and I missed it?

Support - our bill (will help all of us), illini, Render Slurry - their bill, path, Packer Help our candidates, hurt theirs. |

I personally think that's too aggressive, Pass. Maybe like a 25 percent chance on both would be as aggressive as I'd want to get, but I'm being fairly conservative.

Understandable. I'm going to go ahead and post the bill now, naming illini and Render as the co-sponsors, and naming you as whip, Pass, for the time being. I'm going to leave here in a minute and _might_ not be back until after the deadline. Did you go ahead and talk to CR about liason? The Dems were asking in the public thread. |

I'm not sure about me as Whip. I already have a job, and I don't know about taking two, when some don't have any. Also, we both seem to be around in the daytime -- maybe you should choose someone who's around when we're not?

It's a Congressional vote, not a public one, so it won't matter. Although I don't know what happens in case of a tie, the presidential election is one we can't control. The bill is a hedge -- my assumption is that it will hurt the popularity of everyone who votes for it, although we do have some aisle jumpers so that might not be the best idea. We could double up on path, I think he's the more likely presidential candidate, although they're probably thinking that, too. |
