Great episode 5 this week! Bad ass stuff.

Lots of action, camaraderie, future hopes, and nice setup for remaining episodes.

I really loved the first two seasons of this show, but so far this season is just not doing it for me.

There wasn't much of Grogu tonight but love learning more about the Mandalorian lore.

I'm feeling the same way. I don't hate it but it's just been meh for me. It feels a bit disjointed; not a smooth transition from episode to episode. Heavier on the action and good special effects, so I guess for Season 3...this is the way.

I've enjoyed some of the episodes, but it is meandering quite a bit. We're halfway through the season and just starting to get glimpses of what the season is about. I think that should have happened by episode 3.

The meandering was the amnesty episode, a waste of 30 min. I get they are trying to setup something but to use 80+% of the episode on that was bleh.

The armorer is bad news and happy to see her in action. But you'd think the Mandalorians would have used their missiles.

So re: Mandalorians, helmets, and sex. How do/don't they do it?

This weeks episode was okay, not quite as bleh as the Amnesty episode, because we did get to see some action & Grogu at play. But the main plot seem to be a filler and didn't seem to fit the Mandalorian series.

I assume this was a homage to Asimov and did like the chase scene.

I can see why the viewership of the season has dropped a lot. The season is about 75% done now, and I'm still not 100% sure what the season is about. Maybe getting the Mandalorians back together?

This season still is not hitting with me. I just don’t really care about Mandalore or the Dark Saber. Whenever they talk about the lore and history of Mandalore it sounds more like a kid’s fairy tale than anything cool or interesting.

I haven’t enjoyed the pivot into it and there has just been a lot of silliness and stuff that just hasn’t worked.

It seems like it has sort of settled into a detective story, where he goes around and solves an unrelated mystery or resolves a task. Or like a video game, where he has spent the entire season doing side quests.

I have enjoyed this episode, but it was annoying that the first two seasons, everyone was trying to steal/capture Grogu, but in this episode Mando just left him with Lizzo and Jack Black right after they met them.

Oh that's who that woman was! I thought she looked familiar.

TBF, Grogu kinda jumped into her hands so Din must have thought it was okay.

I feel like Grogu is going to mount a mythosaur and eat Moff Gideon. He’s also the titular “Mandalorian “. It’s been in front of us all along.

Another pretty good episode. Din showing some nice moves.

I like how the upgraded Storm Troopers are better than the regular ones. And they don't miss like crazy.

Not sure I like how they ended the arc, but like the epilogue and the setup for next season.

I thought it was an intro for the next Star War series "Ahsoka".

Looked it up ...

Grand Admiral Thrawn is finally flesh and bone. Lars Mikkelsen (“House of Cards,” “Sherlock”) is set to play the longstanding “Star Wars” villain on the upcoming Disney+ series “Ahsoka,” Lucasfilm announced on Saturday as part of the Star Wars Celebration fan convention in London.

I didn’t watch the cartoons, so my only exposure to Thrawn was from those Timothy Zawn books way, way back in the day.

I did name a goldfish after him. Grand Admiral Thrawn was a pretty good goldfish.

Zahn's Thrawn books should have been made into the second movie trilogy not the prequel crap that Lucas put out. Hayden Christensen makes Keenu Reeves look like De Niro. I can't watch the Obi-Wan series because of him. But I digress...

Hopefully Ahsoka will be good although it appears that Christensen will be in that too. Ugh.

Yeah, I have no idea how they thought Christensen was a good actor.

Looked it up and the answer is below. IMO DiCaprio wouldn't have worked either.

Quote:
The star was chosen by director George Lucas because he felt that Hayden had raw talent and good chemistry with actress Natalie Portman. Lucas stunned the movie world by picking the then-unknown actor after he had turned down such big names as Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonathan Jackson, as well as 400 other candidates.

They recently revealed that Yaddle died in Tales of the Jedi. I’m not saying that it was meant to confirm that Yaddle + Yoda= Grogu but it certainly seemed to imply his parents were dead. And as far as we know, those are the only 2 members of that species.

I'm debating watching it as it comes out, or finishing the Clone Wars (I'm in season 4) and the Rebels before watching it.

There’s a bunch of clone wars arcs that you can skip. Prob 1/3 of them flat out suck so far. I’m in season 4

I've watched all of the Clone Wars, but still on season 2 of Rebels. So far, Ahsoka seems to be talking more about the final season of Rebels than anything else. But if you haven't seen the Clone Wars, it's good to get to know Ahsoka.

Enjoyed the first 2 episodes of Ahsoka. Bad ass with her light sabers.

Her "hairdo" bugs me some but have to learn to be more accepting of alien races & cultures.

Finished all of Rebels. I would suggest watching it even though it’s def a bit of a kids show at times. If you can’t get into it, suggest jumping to season 3. The Sith inquisitors kind of suck. Grand Admiral Thrawn shows up in season three and it’s substantially better from that point on.

Ahsoka s1.5 was confusing to me, what the heck is that dream sequence all about other than to give Christensen a paycheck? I've read it pays homage to the Clone Wars but doesn't help the rest of us not animation fans.

But I did enjoy the fight scenes & choreography. They seem to be a step above the other SW series and definitely better than the SW movies. I like the "dual wielding swords" brought to life.

Ahsoka was pulled into the "World Between Worlds" (or she's dreaming about it). This was featured in Star Wars Rebels' Season 4, Episode 13, where Ezra Bridger pulled her in there right before Darth Vader would have killed her.

Thanks, I found below which game me good background since I never watched the animated series.

Who is Ahsoka Tano? | Space

And this one was very helpful in understanding s1.6 with the sisters & Thrawn.

https://screenrant.com/ahsoka-dathom...galaxy-retcon/

I enjoyed s1.6 as it brought in new characters and history I've never knew about. Liked the "Yondu" Thrawn character.

I love that they went back to the tried and true, creating a character with a cool looking mask and zero backstory.

This timeline could provide some amazing weird Star Wars before all is said and done. Most likely almost all of Thrawn’s army are reanimated by night sister magick.

Another solid Ahsoka episode tonight.

I really don't like the "turtles", a little too far out (like the Ewoks) but otherwise, a good episode. I like the Mandalorian + semi-Jedi combo.

I'm guessing this means s2 will be all-about-Thrawn.

I'm really enjoying the season. I thought it would be more of a continuation of the Mandalorian, but it ended up being completely on its own.

It's so weird to see all of the characters from Rebels in live action. Hopefully Thrawn is going to be a regular character on these shows for a while.

Ahsoka s1 was solid, looking forward to s2. Lots of interesting stuff going on.

I thought tonight's episode was too heavy on action, light sabers and green sword. Kinda just mindless fun.

I’m midway through season 2 of Rebels. I prefer the art style of Clone Wars, but otherwise it’s an enjoyable show. Chopper is great.

Finished watching The Acolyte.

Enjoyed it. Don’t know what the fuss was all about. Not as good plot or acting as Mando or Bobba Fett but definitely watchable (or maybe not near as much humor). Sorry there won’t be a s2, would like to know what happened to Osha and backstory to the Sith Lord.

The Light Saber fighting moves were cool. They’ve come a long way since Alec Guinness
