With his first pick in the draft, ice4277 selects...
Sonic The Hedgehog This was the character I was hoping would be there at the sixth pick. In my mind, he is the third most popular video game character ever. When you think of Sega, the first thing you think of is Sonic. His last couple games may have been lacking but some of the best times I had playing video games when I was younger came from the first three Sonic games on my Genesis. |

I seriously considered Sonic with the #2 overall pick. A very solid character, who would definitely get a bonus for clearly being the king of his console. Sonic absolutely definied Sega.

I'll obviously wait until 3est, but checking on his post times lead me to believe that he won't be around until 4.

Not a bad pick, I'm not a big FFVII fan, but I know I'm in the minority there.
I wondered when he'd go, thought his lack of total appearances might hurt him somewhat. |

Definitely a first round reach. Cloud would have slipped to (at least) the second round.
That being said, he should be the first Final Fantasy character taken (justly or not). But, yeah. I can think of at least five other characters still on the board who deserve to be taken first.

Ummm . . .while I expect the video game draft thread to spawn a lot of trash talking, I also expect it to be of the friendly (Pac-Mac can kick Donkey Kong's ass) type. No need to actually get mad in here.

If they want to change their pick, Target and Fargo can work it out between them (via PM, if possible).

Well from the rules I wasn't expecting my pick to be taken. When I left this morning ice hadn't made his pick so I though he would be on the clock at 9am. Even still I didn't expect somebody to pick for me. However, I suppose I over-reacted.

Excellent pick TP. I agree that Cloud was a bit of a reach...and I disagree that he should be the first FF character chosen.

The thing about the FF series is, its really tough to pick one character out of each game and say they are that much more memorable than another. Most of the characters are very memorable, especially those from VII. Thats why I think it is pretty tough to pick one that early. |

Yeah, but as much as I dislike FF7 compared to the superior SNES counterparts, I think another FF7 character deserves to be the first taken from that series. And with that- the "slam dunk" first round picks are off the board. SI

Dude, there is totally an FF character who to me is the 'slam dunk' of the FF series. But I'll leave him for me

Duke Nukem has some sprite games, a mediocre FPS (that would have been cool but took so long to release that a lot of games passed it by), and a piece of vaporware so he's got some credibility issues of late. SI
