Voice acting for the English language is spotty, sometimes even within one interaction with a main quest NPC you will have some lines spoken and some that are not. I pretty much hate it any time I'm thrown into top down perspective. Side Quest difficulty skyrocketed randomly and forced me to look up some things instead of playing through it blind to make sure I wasn't doing something completely wrong.

Talking to some NPC about motion sickness - which you can't do until you've completed a non-trivial introduction - apparently changed a ton of settings on me. I was getting furious in combat because the screen rotated so damn slowly... tuns out that a selection I made caused the game to drop like 15 settings regarding camera rotation down to very low/slow levels. I did not have the understanding that this was happening when I made the selection. Its possible that this was due to a lack of reading on my part. But because some other mechanics like the forced perspective changes sometimes feel awkward, I played for way too long thinking this was just an awkward game mechanic.

Now that I've looked some things up and have fixed my settings, I am having a lot of fun playing.

I had trouble with my settings as they were all in jibberish. A quick restart of my saved game fixed that, but I almost deleted my entire save before googling a quick fix. So far i'm 3 hours in (Killed the naked guy in the desert), and i'm having a blast so far! Fighting is fun, and music is sooooo relaxing.

Career mode in NBA2k17 seems a little more hardcore than I'd like. No wonder Eaglesfan27 can't play it while his daughter's around.

Now for a post that everyone really likes.

I just got the latest Humble Bundle which means that there are keys for free for games that I already have.

So post or PM me if you want keys to games like:
Gal Civ2
Sins of a Solar Empire
Rebel Galaxy

Just be nice to one and all, okay?

Sim Settlement mod for Fallout 4. Amazing work by modder kinggath.

Not without the need for some polish but the basic implementation is pretty strong. There's definitely a much higher sense of "life" in your settlements, if that's a thing to you.

I also appreciate his approach to explaining what's going on & why, as well as some of the how. That's modder VIP caliber.

If you haven't seen it, by all means google up any of the various good review videos or watch his multi-part basic videos (like 5 mins each X 6 vids or something).

+1

My top game so far this year after putting around 50 hours in so far. I also love NieR Automata after getting all endings and Zelda which I'm about 50 hours in on after putting it aside temporarily for Persona and NieR.

Got a Switch a couple of weeks ago. My daughter keeps saying she wants one, but I haven't gotten around to telling her we actually have it. It was sitting in her playroom, plugged into her TV for a week and she didn't notice. Now, the portable portion has just been sitting on the counter in the kitchen for the last week and she still hasn't noticed.

I'd play it, but I only have 1-2 Switch and my wife has no interest, and now I'm just seeing how long my daughter can go without actually noticing its in the house.

Capitalism Lab

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I recently pulled out an oldie that I always loved and wondered if anyone here had ever played.

Been playing a lot of Capitalism Lab lately. Its business simulation game that has been around a long time starting with Capitalism, Capitalism 2, and Capitalism Plus. Capitalism Lab is really just an expansion on the old Capitalism 2. Game is fairly inexpensive and even has a couple of DLC (and another in progress). The developers are great and still actively patch and are very open to suggestions. You can even mod your game with new products, buildings, etc.

Just wanted to throw it out there as I'm having a blast playing again. Check it out if you get a chance CAPITALISM LAB - Taking Business Simulation to a New Frontier - Home

Pretty excited about Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. Loved the original story they did in the first one, and glad they are making another game with an original story.

My kids got more play out of that original game, just running around the city, than nearly anything. I keep meaning to get Lego Avengers because I've heard it had more free environments like that, but never got around to it.

I liked the Avengers game a lot. In some ways it isn't as good as Lego Marvel Super Heroes (voice acting, not an original story), but it does fix the flying controls and the list of unlockable characters is good in it's own way. Pretty sure I saw it was $19.99 now on the Playstation Store.

Far Cry 5 looks to be based in Montana. The game desperately needed a shakeup. The island setting has gotten old. This could be interesting.

Been extremely impressed with some of the E3 videos coming out. The graphical style of The Last Night in particular seems fantastic. Other games catching my eye:

Anthem
Ashen
Sea of Thieves
The Darwin Project

I would like to mention that if you don't like stealth play that forces you to repeat scenes until you make it through, Horizon Zero Dawn is not for you.

Last of Us is very good. I'm about halfway through it.

Might be the best game I've played. Total lights on, middle of the day affair. Not a play before bed kinda deal, and man some of the atmosphere notes and dialog you can find are horribly sad.

And to think that TLOU 1 is the 'love' version and that TLOU 2 is the 'hate' version, I can't even imagine how depressing that one will be...

Shivs FTW! It's those damn stalkers that really get me. Especially coupled with the bloater. Frig. There are a couple of areas in that game that were pure nightmare sauce for me.

Actually I think this game is one that has stuck with me the longest, for better or worse. There are some story elements that really got to me and caused some pretty emotional reactions.

I'm not really into betas (there's plenty of completed games in my ever growing backlog). Also I didn't contribute enough money to get into the beta, I'm happy enough just getting the full game upon release.

So i played four games tonight in 4 vs 4 against the AI, and I won the first game domineeringly, and figured this was the MegaMek weak AI all over again. Then I lost badly, lost closely, and then won pretty strong again, with 2 mechs barely wounded in the 4th match, so I am 2-2 vs the AI. I'll get better as I learn the nuances of this system and how it differs from the base one, but I certainly enjoyed it.
