With how fast this Super Bowl is going, this might be wrapped up by 9:45 ET.

The Chefs D has no answer for the multi pronged attack of the Niners play calling. The Niners D deserves the credit if they can hang on here.

Not expecting every team to just play its vanilla A game, but "the Chiefs offense" has been lacking this game. Exciting plays...almost none. Hats off to the 49ers D, I guess in part, but Andy Reid playing it dumb in a big moment does fit. Go down swinging, at least.

Mahomes looks like he's lacking confidence in his throws.

This game has been nowhere near as entertaining as the score might suggest (and 20-17 isn't suggesting much).

We must be watching a different game. Both teams are having to earn their points and the refs are staying out of the way and letting them play.

It's been well played. Just very grinding and hardly more entertaining than last year's game for the first 50 minutes.

That was a deep stabbing motion through the heart for the Niners. Helluva deserving win for the Chiefs.

Kyle Shanahan has been oustcored 46-0 in the 4th quarter and OT in his 2 Super Bowls as an OC or head coach

Well the 49ers didnt really play with to their strength. 6.4 yards per rush tonight on only 22 carries while passing 31 times. They just showed their strength over the Vikings and Packers in the previous two games. This game I felt they could have done the same thing if they had stuck to that game plan.

Congrats to the Chiefs and Andy Reid as they didnt quit when things looked very iffy.

So disappointing. That game was theirs. Sigh.

Mahomes is certainly entertaining; just unfortunate to be on the receiving end of it.

Congrats to the Chiefs. They are certainly the team of the 4th quarter, but wasn't looking like the magic was going to happen tonight.

I'm not sure how one could complain about the Seahawks, Eagles or Falcons games. And if you like team's "earning their points," then last year's game against the Rams as well. That's four of the past five years.

Until the last ten minutes tonight, I would argue that the three San Francisco games were the three least entertaining games of these playoffs. That obviously changed though with guys stepping up and making (or missing) plays in the final 10 minutes.

Perhaps I judged it too early, but if the game had traveled down the same path that it was going down the first 50 minutes, it was looking like San Fran was going to grind out a 23-10 or 23-13 type win. Thankfully it didn't. Don't get me wrong, dominant line play can be entertaining. But I would argue it was more in the good/solid range where they were controlling things but not dominating.

As an aside, I'm really happy for Andy Reid.

It is incredibly surreal to see Kyle Shanahan once again stop running the ball when having a lead in the 3rd Quarter of the Super Bowl. It's like he learned absolutely nothing from the previous Super Bowl.

In their defense, I think they were complaining about the who, instead of the how. They were cockteased over several years. (talk about your case of blue balls).

Nah... The 49ers are kind of a breath of fresh air. A team that wins with great strategy and defense. Too much offense is dull..... I wont lie though, I didnt miss watching the Pats pick plays all night long.

And last year wasnt about "earning points" it was more about crappy offense and a QB with that deer in the headlight look.

That was a good game. The refs didn't make it about them. The lead went back and forth. No boneheaded plays that decided the game for either team. Halfway through the 4th quarter, and either team had a good chance of winning.

Because the game lacked a crazy finish, or a single memorable play, or one player with the game of his life, I think that the game will get a bit lost in the shuffle as time goes on and we look back and rank the various Super Bowls.

But that will be a bit of a shame, because it was a better game than people will remember it as.

Congrats to both teams.

So any one have an issue with Mahomes as MVP? He might have been the one for the 4th quarter, but those two INTs were basically his fault. I know QBs's usually get the award, but RB Damien Williams here- 2 TD, 100 yards rushing. Nothing super spectacular, but did the job better than Mahomes until the 4th Q I think.

I think MVP was tough on the KC side as nobody had a great game. If SF had one I think it would have gone to Samuel, but I thought the FB was a key to the offense all night.

I never doubted the Chiefs would close the gap. The questionable part was about whether the 49ers would be able to score as well and make it back and forth in the 4th.

Shanahan made some egregious mistakes but I don't think players should be let off the hook. That defense turned to swiss cheese in the final 10 minutes. And Jimmy G looked as shook as you can get in the big moment.

Not having a horse in the race, I really enjoyed the Super Bowl this year - especially after last year's abomination of a game. So, does Shanahan now get the McVeigh 2019 treatment? In other words, do the media go from an all-out group orgy about him during the playoffs to a Godfather-esque "You are nothing to me" because his QB shit the bed in the Super Bowl?

I don't agree with anything this activist says, but I will say that I felt the halftime show was shockingly sexual in a 'why do these super attractive, talented performers feel they need to act like strippers for the crowd?' kind of way. I just felt that it was so over the top it almost demeaned their actual merits and talents and came off as "like us because we are hot" rather than "like us because we are fantastic singers/performers".

Among supporters of the halftime show in my social sphere -- and there were a few -- every single one of them said something to the effect of "if I looked like that I'd dress that way too". Not a single solitary soul among those said a thing about their actual performance.

It wasn't even how they dressed, it was the constant butt-shaking and 'stipper dancing', essentially. It was impressive, they are gorgeous and fit (almost ridiculously so if you factor in their ages), and as a hetero dude I'm not really complaining. It just sort of surprised me because, as you allude to, it really distracted from the rest of the performance, and these are women with established catalogs that really can shine in a less sexualised way.

I also sort of think it sort of broke the 'less is more' rule. Like, one or two of those butt-shake things and I'd have been like "oooh, saucy!". But when it's like 10 straight minutes I sort of feel like a douche oggling at them. And yet that's seemingly what they want? But everything the media tells me is that I'm not allowed to assume that?

Actually the more I type the more I wonder if this wasn't exactly their point. Fuck with the heads of every hetero male 14+ for 10 minutes. If true, well done!

I think the pendulum has swung to the idea that women using sexuality in entertainment is something that empowers rather than demeans them. It's not a man's place to regulate or judge their sexual expression.

Works for me!

Jennifer Lopez just had a hit move about celebrating and embracing the entrepreneurship of stripping and scamming money from dumb men who think they're the ones in control.

I wondered if anyone shocked by the halftime show had ever seen either performer previously tbh. I mean, Shakira largely cracked the English-speaking market originally with a song called "Hips Don't Lie" and promoted it on the Oral Fixation tour.

The NFL got what they paid for.
