The 'blame the refs' stuff is and always has been nonsense. If it's a close enough game for one call to change the outcome, you didn't deserve to win anyway.

Exactly. As tough as it is to have those calls go against you, the refs didn't give up 51 points.

Nice way for Dawgs defense to start the game with that sack

I fear we're not far from the point that there simply aren't ANY teams in a season that are more than fairly good. We're barely getting one or two a year as it is already. (UGAg is incredibly flawed on offense)

And that makes an expanded playoff even more of a fucking joke.

If you threw out any version of a tournament - whether 4 teams or 12 - the absolute unanimous (sensible) 1 vs 2 matchup this year would have been UGA vs UM. That's better? I don't get the hate for an expanded playoff when, if the truly great teams are going to win anyway, we could get a few potentially fun games that might provide a few upsets along the way. Personally, I'd rather have a 24 team playoff and no other bowl games.

I didn't need to see FSU play OU.

Absolutely. (even if I believe Ohio State is a tougher opponent for Georgia due to matchups)

Though I oppose the tournament model for college football entirely, so you're asking me to pick from options I don't like regardless.

Then you're not a college football fan. I'm fine with that, nothing wrong with that. Just admit it and go watch the f'n NFL.

Eh, it's way more complicated than that and not CFB specific. I hate that I root for teams anymore because I would prefer to just enjoy games and I don't enjoy games teams I root for are playing. It's gotten way worse the older I've gotten. CFB is definitely the worst. I can disassociated from the Broncos debacle way more than I could the last 5 years of FSU FB.

So much this. With OSU the expectation is a championship every year, so most years the team is a disappointment and that isn't fun.

Be nice if UGA could play some D otherwise someone might confuse them for Michigan.

It's a game of determining which defensive secondary can screw up the least often.

#$%@#$%$ shotgun formations

Put QBs under center when you need six inches. Drives me foaming at the mouth nuts.

Even if you're not going to snap the ball -- hell , ESPECIALLY then -- what's more believable on 4th & inches?

I agree, Jon. But then I have seen way too many fumbled snaps from guys that aren't used to taking that snap from center. It is more if a risk than it should be.

You 2 are just wrong.

A bad call may not have made a team give up 51 points, but it may have given the other team 2, 3 or 7 points to win the game or (in Arkansas vs Kansas game) extend it to OT where KU could have won the game.

I get it, but sports are only fun when the team meets or exceeds expectations. It just isn't that fun rooting for OSU.

And I'm also a Bengals fan, so I've felt a lot of pain, but when they win it's great and I can be happy even when hey don't win it all. Last year was probably the most fun I've had as a fan and they lost the Super Bowl.

Don't know what Kirby can come up with but this is the key.

GA can stop the run but hasn't been great on pass.

If the game is that close, it's a virtual coin flip who wins or loses anyway.

Ohio State scored 28 points against Georgia in a half, and 22 against Michigan in a game, who just got 51 scored on them. Obviously Georgia is terrible and should never have been allowed in the playoff.

/sarcasm.

But even the Bengals have made some Super Bowls. As an IU fan since 1989, I’ve never even seen them beat OSU. And they play every year! Nevermind winning national or even Big Ten championships.

And the one season where IU won the most games in the East Division (2020), the conference found a way to change the rules so that Ohio State could go to the conference championship instead of us!

It matters to the vast majority of the teams' fans. And there's plenty of games that win by 3 or 7, they shouldn't be discounted.

This is very much like the first game - Ohio State has to keep scoring or they will lose. TCU had 18-19 point leads twice and still almost lost. They only won by continuing to score.

Everything is more entertaining if Alabama isn't invited. They always have a boring 27-7 win for a semifinal

There's no way that was a penalty. But it was hilarious to hear Fowler calling the incompletion as it almost became a TD or INT.
