I'm not saying Akers isn't hurt, but I think he is milking it a bit...

That kick returner was stupid. He should have given the offense a chance.

Well obviously! But he was apparently doing fine in practice all week. It wasn't re-injured until the opening kick-off.

Still a heroic performance...as far as kickers go, anyway.

That was bad for Oakland. Just grab what you can and go down! I can't beleive that Oakland player just let the clock run out like that. Just horrible.

For those of you who don't have the game yet, Rodney Harrison is down on the field with a knee injury. It looks serious.

How many WR's do you think will be shedding a tear for Rodney Harrison right now? That looked pretty bad - your knee is not meant to bend sideways...

That was one of the stupidest things I've seen all season. Everyone and their brother could tell you that the best chance the Raiders had left was to throw one long to Moss, but this guy pisses it away. Moron.

It looks to me like Harrison is done for the year guys. Not a doctor or anything, but when they cart you off for a knee injury, you have problems.

I HATE seeing any player get hurt. Just hate it. But I will say that sometimes karma is a bitch and Harrison has a crapload of negative karma built up. I'd certainly shed more tears for Mike Vrabel or Tom Brady than I would Rodney Harrison.

Uhh, yeah, that would be your NFC game. Have you checked CBS to see if you're getting the Pats-Steelers?

Took the words right out of my mouth. No one deserves to suffer an injury, but if there were one player who comes closest, it would be Harrison.

Wrong Way,

Start of game the Steelers had the ball, went three and out. Punted.

The Pats put together a nice drive. Dillon looked as good as he's looked all year and Brady looked sharp. Dillon ran it in, Pats TD.

Steelers get the ball back, 1 play 85 yards, TD.

Pats start at the 20. Two Dillon runs set up a 3rd and 4. Pats call a half rollout and Brady is clobbered by a blitz up the middle.

Steelers call another long pass play and an iffy PI is called against the Pats.

You can watch the rest from here on out.

This is a super-rarity for us in the NY area to be getting a double-header though. Thank god the Giants are playing tonight instead of this afternoon.

A little off track, on Sky here in England, the studio guest was The Fridge - seemed liked a nice guy, but not a good decision to have him on the show: he was either pissed or punch drunk - slurred a lot, his answers didn;t match the questions put to him, and it appears that he's now left the studio halfway through the show...

Edit: actually I think he was always going to leave after the 1st game.

It couldn't have happened to a better cheap shot artist....

That being said, I honestly hope he's able to recover in time. Never want to wish injury on someone *as my wife likes to say* but in this case, I'm not shedding a tear. harrison has put enough people on the sidelines with cheap tactics throughout his career to have earned a stay on the IR.

I flipped through the channels hoping for some sports to watch. I found:

Some Eddie Murphy movie
SF Giants playing against the Rockies (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Two channels of Indy Car (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Golf (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Watercraft Racing (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Of the 20 spanish channels we get here, only one had the typical softcore porn/soap opera on.
10 channels of Rita coverage

It's like this started a few years ago. I remember being able to watch up to 5 games on Sunday (both double-headers and the late game). Now I'm lucky to see 3. And of those, it's the Whiners or Faders (hate them both with a passion) or both.

It's getting really hard to follow the NFL without being able to see any games.

Watching a little of this 49er/Cowboys game and I'm trying to figure out if this is a Niner home game or a Dallas home game. The crowd seems about 50/50 right now.

Drew Bledsoe with a 6 yard TD run.

I wonder if on the highlights they are going to run the play at quadruple speed or just take 10 minutes and show it in real time.

Yup, living over here I noticed over the last several years that all the Whiners jerseys disapeared off the backs of "fans". In the 90s, every 3rd person over here was wearing one. I can't remember the last time I saw someone wear Whiners anything.

I'm not sure if I'd LOL that or not. The timing of that kick was screwed up by a bad snap/hold. Cortez may be needed later on in the game to make a big kick. Larry needs to shut up and do his own job.

Cortez blows, the sooner he's gone the better. Of course, we don't have an active back up kicker so I guess he's important today...
