Gilmore got hurt in the 3rd but the game was already in hand by that time. USC beats Buffalo 59-21. I believe we are all set to advance.
Oops, I think it was 59-28.

It's apparent at how tough my team has it, high 80's still is poor against high 90's. I made a few dumb plays but you owned me. My bright light was the return by Nash, other than that, you dominated us pure and simple.

The Good: Jimmy Stewart set the USC career reception mark this game.
The Bad: Gilmore threw 3 picks (1 my fault, 2 bad throws.) The Good: Gilmore also threw for over 500 yards and rushed for over 100 yards and accounted for 7 TD's despite not playing most of the 4th quarter due to injury. The Bad: Gilmore suffered another concussion. Is this going to be repetitive? The Good: Our defense dominated UCLA for 3 quarters only allowing 3 points. The Bad: They fell apart in the 4th (due to fatigue?) and allowed 21 points in the 4th. The Good: Back up QB Kyle Davis had a very nice 4th quarter leading us to 4 TD's. The Bad: Star WR Culver was injured on the 1st play (which I think accounted for some of our passing difficulties early) and missed the entire first half. The Good: Despite only playing the 2nd half, Culver finished with 17 receptions for over 200 yards and 3 TD's. The Bad: Our best TE had a few bad drops. So did Culver. The Good: We forced 4 turnovers. The best: We crushed UCLA 77-24 |

Nice recap. Maybe those picks open the door a bit for our QB Shuler to steal the Heisman.

I've thrown quite a few dumb interceptions. I get into run up the score mode and bad things happen. "I can fit this in there, no problem!"

I get all that. But even at 10 ypc that likely 4 TD drives with EVERY play going to him and none of them breaking for yardage.
I need to play you sometime just to learn what route trees you run. The stats are always impressive but I have never learned to play this game any way to recreate them. |

My biggest regret so far is Shaun White has been the back bone of my team starting both ways for the last 3 years.
I signed a couple of stud FR WR so he has played sparingly this year. But I need to get him more touches with his 99 sped 95 acc and 90+ hands |

Lately, the computer seems intent on stopping my run game, which has left the passing game wide open. Had my first 100-yard pass the other day. Was pretty sweet. I had botched a punt return (CPU pulled my guy off of the return, then I went back to get the ball and got tackled on the 1). Then I had a false start to set me up at the half-yard mark.

Ha...
Yeah my bad Spence. He is a freak ATH who came in the last season on the old game and we have enjoyed him immensely. I just looked up and realized he had been a touch forgotten this year. Side note, does anyone have much success with GO routes against the CPU? Doesnt seem to matter how bad I have them beat SUPER CB will fly in to break up a play or intercept it. |

Maybe your QB doesn't have good strength or throw power? Go routes work pretty well, especially in the slot.

I only throw Go routes if I am desperate or the safeties are blitzing/significantly cheating up.

Dola - 1 of Gilmore's picks was due to an under thrown go route where the reliever had a few steps on the corner but the bad throw allowed him to pick it off.

my QB is an 84 power 94 accuracy so not 99/99 but not shabby either.
I can hit slot receivers on GOs. Or really most any WR IF i can lead him towards the middle and let him run to it. What I am continually frustrated by is I can ahve a 5-7 yard cushion and be pulling away and throw it, lead the WR deep bullet or lob doesnt matter and the CB will always (99.99%) superman up at full speed run and break it up or pick it off. Now if its a blitz yes I can get them. But otherwise its slants, crosses, outs, Posts, and corners. I have a couple of tunnel and bubble screens that work great as well that I have found but for whatever reason I cant add them to my playbook. Add the formation and those plays arent there. I think it is a factor of base offense. |

Michigan took us to the wire. We won 35-28, my starting QB went out at the start of the 3rd qtr.
We secured the win with an INT in the end zone with 10 secs left.

I got my game in last night against Duke.. They gave me total hell the whole game. I was down 42-31 with about 4 minutes left but scored a go ahead TD with 2 seconds on the clock and no time outs. They were just brutal to try and move the ball against in the first half.

LOL! My stat whoring may have backfired on me this game. We took care of Stanford 70-14. We played a nearly perfect first half and took a 42-0 lead. I held them to under 50 yards for the half. But, in the 2nd half trying to rack up yards, I threw 2 silly picks trying to make plays and Gilmore had 3 for the game. On the plus side, he did have 600 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 9 total TD's. Guilty as charged. In recruiting news, we did sign a top kicker and a very good DT this week. |

Speaking of stats: Gilmore is currently #1 in passing yards with a margin of 1200 yards over the #2 guy and is also #4 in the NCAA in rushing yards.

See I recruiting bonus point whore not stat whore. No one gets more than 3 rushing TDs or 4 passing or receiving TDs. And we hit those marks every game. That equals about 400 extra coach points per game. Now 1 heisman offsets a lot of that but... |
